Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - Old Town

Feb kept walking, hoping to find water, but he had long lost his sense of direction.

That strange rain-like thing still hadn't stopped, and a sense of unease clung to him.

He had been through so much that he hadn't even had the chance to question where he was.

There was something that hinted at a nearby settlement, though he couldn't quite tell what it was.

Then, he came across a rusty, damp, and disgusting sign buried in the ground.

The word on it was barely readable:

"Silentspine"

Even this faded word carried the hope of a settlement.

His thirst had become unbearable. He no longer cared who might live there.

If he stayed without water for a few more hours… the outcome would certainly be grim.

As he took his first step into the town, an old Weaver opened her arms as if she had been waiting for him for a very long time.

Feb had never seen her before. Yet somehow, his conscience took over.

He walked toward this stranger and hugged her.

While hugging Feb, the Weaver looked as if she had fulfilled the greatest purpose of her life.

She offered him to stay at her house, since the nights outside were dangerous.

Feb felt suspicious of how warmly she acted—but spending the night outside seemed far more dangerous.
