Chapter 11 - Chapter 9

After the emotional reunion, the room settled, though the weight of Susie's ghostly presence still hung heavily in the air. She wiped at her tears, looking at her family, and then took a deep breath as if summoning courage.

Her voice trembled but carried a painful clarity."It was George Harvey. He tricked me into the underground room. He raped me… then killed me."

Jack clenched his fists, every muscle in his body trembling with fury. Abigail turned away, sobbing, unable to hear it but unable to stop listening. Lindsey's shoulders shook as she held Buckley tightly to stop him from hearing more, though it was too late.

Susie continued, her words soft but unflinching."My body… he cut it apart and hid it inside a safe in his basement. He still keeps it there. Sometimes he stares at it for hours, reliving what he did. It gives him…" her voice faltered, then steadied, "…pleasure. He won't let go of me, even now."

Jack slammed his hand down on the table so hard the sound cracked through the room. His voice was hoarse with rage."That animal! He didn't just take her life—he's still holding her like some sick trophy."

Abigail's tears turned to anger as well. "He lives across the street… and he's keeping her there. While we sit here mourning."

Lindsey's jaw set, her fists tight at her sides. "He's disgusting. He'll keep doing it. He'll do it again if we don't stop him."

Buckley, confused and young, held onto Abigail's arm. His small voice cracked.

"Mom… can't we just make him give her back?"

Abigail pulled him close, holding him through her own shaking sobs."We will, Buckley. We will."

Aleksander turned back to Susie, his voice calm but deliberate."Do you have any other ghosts lingering around here?"

Susie nodded faintly."Yes. She told me her name is Holly. She said she was one of his too…"

Aleksander's eyes darkened with understanding. He looked to Jack.

"Bring me paper. Quickly."

Jack didn't hesitate—he rushed into the next room and returned with a notepad and a pen.

"I'm going to communicate with Harvey's victims," Aleksander explained, setting the paper on the table. His tone remained serious, measured. "If they can share their names and where he killed them, we'll finally have more than just shadows. We'll have some clues to put him away."

Everyone leaned in as Aleksander extended his hand over the paper. His palm hovered, glowing faintly as he whispered:"Nomina victimarum revela."

The lights flickered again and the air grew cold. The pen scratched across the paper on its own, as if guided by invisible hands. Slowly, names and details began to appear—written in lines of dark, blood‑red ink.

The Salmon family and Wednesday watched in stunned silence as the list formed:

Sophie Cichetti – A 49‑year‑old woman in Pennsylvania, murdered in 2009. Harvey's landlady. After they slept together, he smashed her skull in and left her body by a creek.

Lana Johnson – Age six, murdered in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, 2009. Lured into a shack, then raped and killed.

Flora Hernandez – Age eight, Delaware, 2012. Strangled when she screamed. Left in an abandoned basement. Only a sock and shoe were found.

Rebecca Steele – Age eleven, New Jersey, 2014. Disappeared walking home from school. Found weeks later buried in shallow woods. Harvey never reported seeing her last though she passed his street.

Jackie Meyer – Thirteen, Delaware, 2016. Found in a drainage ditch on the side of the road.

Clara Evans – Age ten, Maryland, 2017. Lured with candy near a playground. Strangled. No remains recovered, only her backpack discovered years later in an abandoned shed.

Leah Fox – Age twelve, Delaware, 2018. Raped and suffocated while he slept on top of her. Body dumped in a river.

Michelle Turner – Age fifteen, Pennsylvania, 2020. Met Harvey while he was working odd jobs. Vanished the same night. Her bicycle was found by a river, her body never located.

Denise Lee Ang – Thirteen, murdered in Connecticut, 2022. Kidnapped outside her father's shop. She had called herself "Holly Golightly."

When the final name scrawled itself across the page, the pen dropped, clattering against the table.

The Salmon family stared at the list, horrified. Abigail covered her mouth as tears streamed freely. Lindsey shook her head in shock. Jack looked like he couldn't decide whether to tear the paper to pieces or shield it forever as proof.

Buckley, too young to fully grasp the weight of what was being said, pressed himself into Abigail's side. His small voice cracked.

"Dad… all those girls… like Susie?"

Jack swallowed hard, his jaw working as if he were holding back an outburst. His voice shook."Yes, Buckley… just like Susie."

Abigail pulled her boy closer, her eyes shining with tears she couldn't stop.

Wednesday leaned in, her arms folded, eyes scanning the names written on the page. Her flat, steady tone cut through the silence."Nine girls. One woman. Three states. Three decades. That safe in his basement isn't about hiding. It's about keeping. His shrine. He's been perfecting this pattern for years."

Aleksander closed the list with careful hands, his face grim but composed."Now we have names, dates, and locations. I'll call someone I trust—he can cross Harvey's movements during those years. If he overlaps, it ties him to every single one of them."

Wednesday reclined slightly in her chair, tone clinical."One coincidence you can dismiss. Two, maybe. But if he shows up in the same places when each of these girls vanished? That means he planned it. He was hunting."

Aleksander's expression tightened, frustration in his voice."But it's still not enough. Law enforcement won't move without something physical to tie him to these girls. Otherwise, he will still only get a life sentence."

The room went heavy again, the family staring at one another, grief mutating into rage. Then Susie's ghostly figure stepped closer, her voice shaking but determined."There's something. A book. He kept a piece of my hair in it… right next to my picture. He's done it before, for the others too. That book has us all in one place."

Abigail's hands flew to her mouth in shock."He… kept trophies of you?"

Jack's hand formed into a trembling fist, his teeth grinding."That monster didn't just kill her… he collected her."

Lindsey's voice hardened, though it cracked under the weight of tears.

"If he's keeping things like that, he's leaving evidence all over those pages. Something they can use."

Wednesday's dark eyes flicked up, her calm voice all the more unnerving for its clarity."Then that's our key. We don't just need to find the book—we need to take it before Harvey even suspects we know it exists. Because if he figures it out…" she paused slightly, "…he'll burn it with everything else."

Aleksander gave a firm nod, his gaze sweeping the room."Then that's the path. We get that book, and with it—we bury George Harvey. In court, if they'll take it. If not… we'll make sure he never sees daylight again."
