Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 First meeting with the little thief, Nami

Time's arrow quietly advanced to the afternoon of the next day, as the scorching sun slanted down upon the shimmering sea, casting a warm golden glow upon the shore.

At this moment, the scene on the shore was bustling and orderly.

A merchant ship, on a procurement mission, slowly approached the shore, its hull rubbing against the water with a soft "swish-swish" sound.

Coco Village had always been renowned for its abundant oranges, with vast orange groves resembling a golden ocean, and a gentle breeze carrying the rich scent of oranges.

It was precisely for this reason that merchants would regularly visit Coco Village, returning with fresh oranges.

During its journey to pick up goods, this merchant ship also took on the task of carrying passengers, and Nami was one of them.

Among the bustling crowd disembarking from the merchant ship, Nami's distinctive orange hair, like a flickering flame, shone brightly in the sunlight, drawing particular attention and making her easily identifiable in the crowd.

Yun Lie, sitting under a large tree not far away, was idly fiddling with a blade of grass in his hand, his gaze casually sweeping his surroundings.

When he saw Nami gracefully step off the merchant ship, a flicker of light instantly appeared in his eyes.

He quickly stood up, vigorously raised his right hand, and waved continuously in Nami's direction, while shouting loudly, "Nami! Over here!"

Nami heard the call, paused her steps, and then slowly walked towards the source of the sound.

She looked Yun Lie up and down, her eyes full of curiosity, a wary smile playing on her lips, and asked, "Huh? Who are you, handsome? Do you know me?"

Yun Lie looked at Nami before him and secretly marveled that the legendary Little Thief Cat truly lived up to her reputation.

She wore a cunning smile, her figure was graceful and alluring, especially her slender waist, which added a unique charm to her.

He collected his thoughts and explained, "Nojiko is not feeling well today. She asked me to pick you up."

"What!? Nojiko isn't feeling well? What happened to her!?"

Nami's face instantly turned pale, her eyes filled with worry and anxiety.

She grabbed Yun Lie's collar, her voice involuntarily rising due to tension, her face etched with panic.

Before Yun Lie could utter a single word, Nami seemed to suddenly snap back to her senses, released his collar, and turned around in a rush, sprinting towards home.

"Hey! Let me explain, it's not what you think!" Seeing this, Yun Lie quickly strode to catch up.

However, Nami was agile. As expected of someone called Little Thief Cat, how could it be easy to catch her?

Unless he used his special abilities, but he did not want to expose himself to the public at this moment.

"Bang!" With a loud crash, Nami forcefully pushed open the door to her home.

She stood panting at the doorway, her chest heaving violently.

"Nami! You're back!"

Nojiko was lying on a chair in the yard. Hearing the sound, she turned her head and saw Nami standing at the doorway, a bright smile instantly blooming on her face as she happily greeted her.

"Nojiko, you... you're fine?"

Nami looked at Nojiko, who had a rosy complexion and was in excellent spirits, and for a moment she stood frozen, unsure what to say, her expression very complex.

"Where's Yun Lie? Didn't he come back with you?"

Nojiko stretched her neck and looked around the doorway, finding no sign of Yun Lie, and couldn't help but ask again.

"Heh, your sister ran too fast. She ran off before I could finish explaining."

Just then, a spatial rift appeared in the yard without warning, and Yun Lie's figure slowly emerged from the rift, a helpless expression on his face.

Immediately after, Yun Lie explained all the ins and outs to Nojiko in detail.

Nojiko then had a sudden realization, and a warm feeling surged in her heart.

It turned out that her good sister, who was impetuous but cared for her immensely, had lost her composure due to her worry for her.

"Nojiko, who is this man?"

While Nojiko was immersed in emotion, Nami was far from calm.

She watched the intimate interaction between Nojiko and Yun Lie, and although she already had a faint guess, it was still difficult for her to accept at the moment.

"Oh, Yun Lie, you should call him Brother-in-law." Nojiko covered her mouth, her eyes curving in a smile, and chuckled.

"Bro... Brother-in-law?" Nami's eyes widened, and she stammered, her face filled with shock.

"That's right, he's your Brother-in-law, Yun Lie. You should leave for a bit. I need to talk to my sister about some things."

Nojiko nodded, generously admitting it, and then immediately issued an expulsion order to Yun Lie.

"Alright, you two have a good chat. I'll go train in the back mountains. Just send someone to find me if anything comes up."

Yun Lie spread his hands and said in a relaxed tone.

He knew in his heart that the two sisters, having finally reunited, surely had many secrets to share, and it would be inappropriate for him to stay and disturb them.

......

Time quietly slipped away, and in a blink of an eye, night fell, the sky dyed a deep inky black, and scattered lights began to twinkle in the village. It was almost time for dinner.

At this point, Yun Lie stopped his training and, dragging his slightly tired body, returned home.

"Bastard, Nojiko said she wants to go out to sea with you?"

As soon as she entered the door, Nami saw Yun Lie and angrily cursed.

It turned out that she had learned from her sister Nojiko that once the ship was built, the two of them would go on an adventure at sea together.

Nami knew well what going on an adventure at sea meant; countless unknown dangers lurked within.

She herself had wandered outside for so many years, enduring hardships, and even so, she couldn't claim to be 100% safe.

Back then, relying on her cleverness, she still almost got caught and sold by human traffickers at first.

Thinking of these things, no matter how much she tried to persuade Nojiko not to go to sea, Nojiko seemed possessed and wouldn't listen at all.
