Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: Jellal

Chapter 95: Jellal

Time passed quickly. Noah had been at Roubaul's place for over ten days. All told, more than a month had passed since July 7th, X777.

On this day, as Noah and Roubaul were discussing magic, they both suddenly stopped and turned to look in the same direction.

"Do you feel that, Noah?"

"I do. A very special kind of magic has appeared over there. I'll go and take a look."

"Be careful. That kind of magic is very rare."

"I will be."

With that, Noah teleported away, reappearing near the place where he had sensed the special magic. The first thing he did was look up at the sky; that was where the source of the magic was. There was no obvious change, but he could feel a mass of special magic brewing in the clouds, though the process was very slow.

Looking down from the clouds, he could see a small village. The people in the village were clearly unaware of what was about to happen above their heads. They were all going about their own business, and the atmosphere was one of peace and tranquility, a perfect picture of rural life.

For the safety of the villagers, Noah worked at high speed, laying down a formulaic barrier to protect the entire village. He then began to use various spells to probe the special magic.

Soon, the mass of magic began to move in a regular pattern. Noah realized that some kind of spell was beginning to take shape. From the outside, one could see the clouds in a certain area of the sky begin to rotate around a single point, albeit very slowly.

Noah began to analyze the forming spell and found that it was taking an extremely long time to materialize. The spell's effects were related to space and time, but since it was only just beginning to form, he couldn't determine its specific purpose. However, it was aimed directly at the village below, so he doubted it was anything good.

To prevent any accidents, Noah acted directly to interrupt the casting. The spell was broken, and the mass of special magic immediately dispersed, blowing away the surrounding clouds and revealing a clear blue sky. The sight lifted Noah's spirits and brightened his mood.

After waiting for a while and seeing that the strange magic did not reappear, Noah dispelled the barrier around the village. Throughout the entire process, not a single person in the village had noticed his actions. And just like that, without a sound, the village had been spared a great disaster.

He teleported back to Roubaul's place and found a boy who looked to be about his own age saying to the old man, "Please, take this child in!"

The boy had blue hair, dark eyes, and a red tattoo near his right eye. He was dressed in clothes suitable for outdoor activities and had a large pack on his back. In his arms, he held a little girl with dark blue hair who looked to be only about five years old. She was sleeping soundly in his arms.

Roubaul was about to speak when he saw Noah return. He turned to him. "Will you take her in, nabula? You know my situation; I'm not suited to look after a child."

"Of course. I'll take her in," Noah said, a genuine smile on his face.

Seeing his expression, Roubaul seemed to understand something, finally finding the answer to Noah's strange behavior over the past several days.

The blue-haired boy was startled by Noah's sudden appearance. He looked at him with a tense and guarded expression and quietly took two steps back. However, when he saw Noah and Roubaul talking and laughing, he relaxed a little. "Excuse me, who are you?" he asked.

Noah held up his right hand, showing the guild mark on its back. "My name is Noah. I'm a wizard of Fairy Tail and a friend of Grandpa Roubaul. And you? What's your name?"

"My name is Jellal. Please, take this child in. She'll be in danger with me." As he spoke, he held the little girl up slightly. Seeing that he was struggling, Noah used his Gravity Magic to make her float.

Jellal watched the girl slowly rise into the air and let go of her. The girl just floated there. A flash of envy crossed Jellal's eyes, but it was instantly replaced by determination. He looked at Noah with a firm and forthright gaze.

"Alright, I'll take this little sister in," Noah said. "But why do you say she'll be in danger with you?"

Jellal's expression darkened, and his voice became much smaller. "There is something I must do. This matter will involve a lot of danger, so I can't let her come with me."

"You're still going to do it, even if it's dangerous?"

"I must. It's my responsibility."

Noah looked at Jellal. Although his expression was somber, his eyes were firm. "Will what you're doing harm innocent people?"

"Of course not! What I'm doing is to protect more innocent people!" Jellal said, his expression brightening. He looked straight at Noah, his gaze unwavering.

Noah smiled. "Then you can join Fairy Tail. That's my guild. We can help you do what you want to do better."

Seeing the confused look in Jellal's eyes, Noah continued, "I've met someone like you before. Someone with absolutely no magic power of their own."

Jellal's expression changed to one of shock. He took several steps back, looking at Noah with extreme caution. Roubaul, hearing Noah's words, raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

Noah held up his hands. "Relax. The person I met is an elder in my guild, so I've looked into it and have some understanding of the situation. You and I were standing very close, and my senses are quite good, which is why I noticed your condition. Other people won't be able to tell, so you don't need to worry too much. For someone in your situation, it would be very difficult to get here unless there were special circumstances. And from the look on your face, I can tell you came here for a specific reason. So if you're looking for help, you can come to Fairy Tail. You don't have to answer right away. You can investigate our guild first and see what it's like. You'll be able to make your own judgment then."

Jellal's expression finally relaxed a little. He had just arrived, and to have his condition discovered so suddenly had naturally been a shock. Thankfully, it wasn't a common occurrence, but only because the person in front of him was so strong.

Seeing that he had calmed down, Noah continued, "I'll also take this little sister back to the guild and let her join. You can come and visit her there. Our guild is in Magnolia."
