Chapter 511 - Chapter 511: We're in the Celestial Spirit World

Chapter 511: We're in the Celestial Spirit World

"So, what do we do now? How do we get back?" Ultear asked, sitting beside Noah after the banquet had finally wound down.

"Yeah, Tenrou Island was physically relocated to the Celestial Spirit World and is currently just floating out there. How exactly are we supposed to move it back? We can't just leave our guild's sacred ground in another dimension permanently, right?" Sorano added, pointing toward the massive island hovering peacefully in the distant void.

"Of course not. Since we planned to move the island here in the first place, we naturally planned how to bring it back. This isn't a disposable tactic; that island is our holy ground," Noah replied.

"Allow me to explain," Mavis chimed in, floating over to join the group.

She had spent the last few hours wandering around the plaza. Since she was currently a spectral entity, she couldn't physically consume any of the magnificent food the Spirits had prepared. Watching everyone else stuff their faces with unimaginable delicacies had been mild torture, so she had opted to explore the Celestial Spirit World instead.

However, during her stroll, she had noticed something peculiar. When she approached the head table, the Celestial Spirit King had looked directly at her and spoken to her. Because she lacked a physical body and a Fairy Tail guild mark, only members of the guild were supposed to be able to see her.

But then she realized: he was the King of the Celestial Spirit World. As the sovereign entity of this dimension, his perception naturally bypassed mortal illusions and spectral laws. After a pleasant chat with the King, she had continued her tour until she overheard Noah's conversation and drifted over.

"Transferring Tenrou Island to the Celestial Spirit World required two primary components: the twelve Zodiac Keys to serve as physical anchors, and the active cooperation of the Zodiac Spirits to open and stabilize the massive dimensional gate," Mavis explained, looking around the circle.

"Loke, Capricorn, and the others didn't just open a door; they acted as navigational beacons from within the Spirit World, ensuring Tenrou Island materialized in an empty expanse of space. Without their active guidance, the island could have materialized directly inside one of these planets and become permanently stuck.

"To return the island to the Human World requires the exact same process: opening a massive gate and establishing a precise navigational beacon. The Spirits can open the gate from this side. As for the beacon..." Mavis paused, smiling. "We already set those up before the attack. We will use our previous installations as anchors to return Tenrou Island exactly to its original coordinates."

"Wait, our previous installations? You mean those devices we planted on the ocean floor all around the island?" Ultear asked, her eyes widening in surprise. "Didn't Noah say those were magical accumulators to power the barrier? They double as navigational beacons?"

"Exactly. Those devices not only absorbed and stockpiled ambient magic, but they also serve as highly precise spatial anchors. As long as they are active, we can lock onto their coordinates and flawlessly return the island to its original location, completely avoiding the risk of materializing inside a mountain or at the bottom of a trench," Mavis nodded.

"But Acnologia was carpet-bombing the ocean for almost an hour! The shockwaves and tidal waves were catastrophic. Wouldn't those devices have been destroyed by the collateral damage?" Erza asked, a knot of worry forming in her chest.

Spatial anchors had to be incredibly precise. Given the apocalyptic destruction they had all witnessed, it was highly likely the devices had been obliterated. If their beacons were gone, how would they get back?

"Don't worry," Noah interjected smoothly. "I anticipated severe collateral damage. Every single accumulator node is protected by an independent, localized barrier identical in structure to the one currently protecting Tenrou Island. Furthermore, because they are constantly absorbing ambient magic, they are practically self-sustaining.

"Unless Acnologia scored a direct, point-blank hit on a node with its Roar, the residual shockwaves and tsunamis wouldn't even dent them. However, just to be absolutely certain, I will personally teleport back to Earthland to inspect the array before we initiate the transfer."

"So, for now, do we just rest here in the Spirit World?" Mirajane asked.

"I definitely wouldn't mind staying a bit longer. This place is incredibly relaxing," Sorano sighed, leaning back against the grass and gazing up at the starry sky.

"Oh, right. I forgot to mention something incredibly important," Noah suddenly sat up straighter, looking at Ultear and the others.

"What is it?" Ultear asked, noticing his serious tone.

"The flow of time in the Celestial Spirit World is fundamentally different from the Human World. Spending one day here is the equivalent of three months passing in the Human World," Noah stated calmly.

"WHAT?!?"

Ultear, Erza, Mirajane, and Sorano gasped simultaneously, their eyes bugging out in absolute shock.

Hearing their collective shout, the rest of the guild turned their attention to the group. When they heard what Noah had just said, their jaws dropped in unison.

"Noah speaks the truth. The temporal disparity between our realms is quite significant," Loke confirmed, walking over with a glass of wine.

"Wait, we've been here for almost a full day already between the battle, the healing, and the banquet. Does that mean... over two months have already passed back home?!" Laxus demanded, stepping forward with a deep frown.

"Yes. That's correct," Noah nodded.

"What about the rest of the guild in Magnolia?!" Laxus asked, his voice rising in alarm. "We took all the S-Class mages and the core fighting force with us! If we've been missing for two months, the guild must be in absolute chaos!"

"Calm down. I already took care of it," Noah said, raising a hand to placate him. "Remember when I told you to discretely inform Macao and Wakaba about the guild's hidden subterranean barrier before we left for the trials?"

"Yeah... wait. Did you leave a message for them?" Laxus asked, his eyes widening in realization.

"Exactly. Knowing the temporal disparity, I left a highly encrypted, time-delayed message within the subterranean control console. Once the news of Tenrou Island's destruction inevitably reached Magnolia—which it certainly has by now—Macao and Wakaba would naturally retreat to the bunker to secure the guild's remaining assets and protect the younger members.

"Upon accessing the console, my message would trigger, explaining the situation and confirming that we are alive and safe. Knowing we will return, they have the authority and the information necessary to stabilize the guild's morale and maintain order in our absence," Noah explained to the anxious crowd.

Hearing this, the collective panic that had gripped the guild instantly vanished.

Once again, Noah's absolute, terrifyingly thorough paranoia had saved them. Knowing that Macao and Wakaba were keeping the peace back home, they could finally relax. They would be returning soon anyway.

"So, when exactly are we heading back?" Mirajane asked, her usual gentle smile returning.

"There's no rush. We still have one critical task to complete before we can return to Earthland," Noah replied, shaking his head.

"What task?" Sorano asked, tilting her head.

Wasn't the plan just to check the beacons, open the gate, and warp the island back? What else was there to do?

"You're forgetting one very crucial, very terrifying detail. Acnologia's sensory perception is absolute," Noah stated, his expression turning incredibly grave.

"If we simply warp back to Earthland as we are, there is a very high probability that Acnologia will immediately lock onto our magical signatures and track us down. I managed to slice a chunk of flesh off its belly; I absolutely refuse to gamble on whether or not a Dragon King holds a grudge. Furthermore, all of you launched ultimate attacks against it. It has memorized all of our scents and magical signatures."

Laxus's expression darkened instantly. "He's right. If we don't prepare a countermeasure, returning to Earthland is just inviting it to finish the job."

Noah's concern was a terrifying reality. Acnologia wasn't a mindless beast; it was an apex predator. If it held a grudge, it would hunt them to the ends of the earth. They had only survived today because of Noah's meticulous, dimension-hopping escape plan. If they encountered it again without preparation, they were dead. They couldn't just hide in the Spirit World forever.

"So, what's the plan? Knowing you, you already have a solution," Ultear said confidently.

"I do. But I couldn't have pulled it off without the Celestial Spirit King's permission, and the First Master's structural adjustments," Noah said, looking gratefully toward Mavis and the distant Spirit King.

"No, the core theory and execution are entirely yours. I merely helped streamline the runic efficiency. Your mastery of Celestial Spirit Magic and Enchantment is what made this possible," Mavis shook her head, refusing the credit.

"Stop building suspense! What are we doing?!" Sorano demanded impatiently.

"We are currently in the Celestial Spirit World. It would be a phenomenal waste not to utilize this environment to its absolute fullest," Noah smiled, gesturing to the infinite, starry void surrounding them.

"I have designed a specialized ritual matrix. We will use the pure, concentrated starlight of this dimension to physically and magically 'wash' every single person's body.

"By channeling the starlight through the matrix, we will systematically scrub away your existing magical signatures, scents, and residual auras. We will then imprint a thin, localized conceptual barrier of pure starlight directly onto your souls. This barrier will permanently mask your true scent and magical signature, replacing it with the ambient, untraceable aura of starlight. Acnologia will be completely unable to track us."

"Wait, 'wash' our bodies? Mask our signatures?" Kagura asked, stepping closer, thoroughly intrigued.

The rest of the guild crowded around Noah, eager to hear the details. Even several Celestial Spirits drifted over, curious to see what the human genius had contrived.

"Exactly. The ritual serves a dual purpose," Noah continued. "First, as I said, it provides absolute concealment by replacing your identifying aura with starlight.

"Second, and more importantly for you... bathing in the pure, concentrated starlight of this dimension will actively purify and strengthen your physical bodies and magical cores. The starlight will burn away physical impurities and refine the quality of your magic. In simple terms: this ritual will permanently increase your baseline strength, physical durability, and magical capacity."

"If we're masking our signatures with a barrier, what happens if we get into a fight? Won't releasing our magic shatter the concealment?" Gildarts asked, immediately spotting the potential tactical flaw.

If he accidentally sneezed and blew up a mountain, would the starlight barrier break and instantly alert Acnologia to his location? He couldn't afford to bring the apocalypse down on Magnolia just because he got into a brawl.

"Don't worry about that. Unless an S-Class mage specifically targets the conceptual barrier on your soul with the intent to destroy it, it won't break naturally," Noah assured him.

"Furthermore, the barrier's upper limit is incredibly high. Because its primary power source is the starlight imprinted on your soul, it actually feeds on your own magic to sustain itself. The more magic you output during a fight, the stronger the concealment barrier becomes to mask that output. It's a self-sustaining feedback loop. You can fight normally without fear of exposure."

Gildarts let out a heavy sigh of relief. If he didn't have to constantly suppress his magic to stay hidden, the plan was flawless. The rest of the guild also relaxed, marveling at the ingenuity of the spell.

"This ritual matrix is almost entirely Noah's original creation. I only offered minor adjustments. His genius truly is terrifying!" Mavis praised enthusiastically, floating around Noah with a proud smile.

Hearing the legendary First Master praise him so highly, Ultear, Erza, Mirajane, and Sorano beamed with absolute pride. This is the man we chose, they thought collectively.

"I couldn't have even attempted this without the Celestial Spirit King allowing us to siphon so much of his realm's ambient energy," Noah added humbly, bowing his head toward the King.

"Think nothing of it, old friend! If the starlight of my realm can aid your comrades in growing stronger and surviving that monster, I am more than happy to provide it!" the King boomed generously.

"Wait a second..." Sorano muttered, her eyes narrowing as she processed the mechanics of the ritual. "If this ritual uses concentrated starlight to purify the body and enhance magical quality... wouldn't Celestial Spirit Mages benefit from this the most? Since our magic is fundamentally tied to the stars, this is basically a direct, hyper-compatible power-up!"

"Spot on," Noah nodded approvingly. "Celestial Spirit Mages possess the highest natural affinity for starlight. While everyone will receive a significant permanent boost to their physical and magical stats, Celestial Mages will experience the highest overall multiplier."

"Did you hear that, Yukino?! You have to stay in the ritual matrix for as long as possible! Absorb every last drop of starlight you can!" Sorano instantly turned to her younger sister, grabbing her by the shoulders and shaking her excitedly.

"I-I understand, big sister! I will do my best!" Yukino nodded frantically, dizzy from the shaking.

"But wait... Yukino, Wendy, Meredy... they're still so young. Their bodies haven't fully matured yet. Will forcefully altering their magical signatures and pumping them full of concentrated starlight have any negative side effects on their growth? What about Happy and Carla?" Sorano asked, her protective instincts immediately kicking in.

"Relax. Do you honestly think I would subject my own little sister, or any of you, to a ritual that possessed even a fraction of a percent chance of causing permanent harm?" Noah asked, raising an eyebrow.

Sorano paused, then let out a slightly embarrassed sigh. He was right. Noah was the most paranoid, overprotective person she knew. If he was authorizing the ritual for Wendy and Meredy, it meant he had already rigorously calculated and eliminated every conceivable risk.
