Chapter 69 - The Orb Of Eternity

The storm above Olympus was unlike anything the gods had seen since the dawn of creation.

The heavens bled violet and gold as streaks of black lightning ripped the sky in half. The air itself was trembling — the balance of existence threatened by the being once trapped inside Megumi Valentine.

The King of Erasure had returned.

The air grew heavier with each breath as the energy of the ancient tyrant expanded like an infection, spreading through the realms of gods, mortals, and demons alike.

Uranus stood on the steps of his celestial throne — not of marble or gold, but pure condensed light. His mortal form shimmered with divine gravity. His silver eyes narrowed as he peered across the endless horizon of broken stars.

Below him, Cronus and Hyperion were locked in combat, their bodies glowing with the fury of titanic magic. The King of Erasure stood at the center of the battlefield — his form pulsing with raw, corrosive energy.

Every swing of his arm warped the space around him. Every word he spoke fractured the ground into dust.

And yet… for all his god-slaying power, he was not whole.

He lacked the vessel that once anchored him — Megumi Valentine.

The Demon King's Arrival

Far across the skies, a crimson portal tore open above the battlefield.

A spear of demonic energy pierced through the clouds, followed by the unmistakable presence of Leonidas, the Demon King. His eyes burned with wrath, his black cloak tattered by the storms of Olympus.

As he landed, the ground beneath him cracked. Waves of infernal magic exploded outward.

"CRONUS!" Leonidas roared, his voice like a blade cutting through thunder.

Cronus, bleeding from his shoulder, turned mid-swing, his golden scythe dripping celestial fire. "Leonidas—by the stars, you shouldn't have come!"

Leonidas clenched his jaw. "Megumi's life is hanging by a thread, and that thingout there wants to erase everything he fought to protect. You really think I'd sit in my domain and watch the world burn again?"

Hyperion blasted a beam of radiant flame toward the Erasure King, who merely raised a hand and absorbed it. His laughter echoed through every plane of existence.

"You're all insects," the Erasure King hissed, his voice distorted, shifting between a thousand tones. "You think the light of your gods or the fury of your demons can halt the inevitable? I am the void that births silence. I am the end you fear."

Leonidas stepped forward, summoning a blade forged from demonic essence — black steel laced with divine markings. His eyes met the King's with unflinching defiance.

"Then you'll find out what happens when silence meets rebellion."

He charged.

A Battle That Shook Creation

The clash of forces sent shockwaves across Olympus.

Leonidas's blade met the Erasure King's hand with a detonation that sent titans flying.

The ground buckled beneath them — mountains shattered, rivers turned to vapor.

Cronus and Hyperion regrouped beside Leonidas, forming a triangle around the King of Erasure. Their combined auras illuminated the battlefield, divine and demonic power intertwining in ways that had never been seen since the cosmos' birth.

Uranus descended from above, his voice deep, ancient — the sound of thunder itself.

"Enough."

The word struck like a divine decree.

Time itself hesitated.

Even the King of Erasure paused — his form flickering as he turned toward the Sky Father.

"Uranus," he spat, his voice dripping with venom. "So the coward finally emerges."

Uranus floated a few feet from the ground, eyes burning with celestial wisdom. "I am no coward, Erasure. I am balance. I am the beginning that remembers what must remain."

The King of Erasure smirked, dark energy bleeding from his fingertips. "Then you already know balance dies when I rise."

With a guttural roar, he surged forward — striking Uranus with a blow that cracked the very firmament. The world screamed in response.

Uranus was hurled backward, but his expression never wavered. He raised his hand, summoning a storm of cosmic force that swallowed the battlefield in radiant light.

The gods, titans, and demon king fought side by side — a symphony of destruction and unity.

But for every strike they landed, the King of Erasure adapted, evolved, consumed their strength.

And still, he laughed.

The Edge of Despair

Leonidas was the first to fall to one knee, blood spilling from his lip. His infernal aura flickered. Hyperion collapsed beside him, the heat of his flames dimming.

Cronus gritted his teeth, forcing his divine weapon upright. "We can't win like this… He's devouring our power faster than we can wound him!"

Uranus landed between them, holding his side. His divine form flickered like dying light. "Then we stop fighting power with power."

Leonidas blinked, barely able to lift his head. "What do you mean?"

Uranus extended his hand, and in his palm formed a small, swirling orb — one half burning gold, the other bleeding black. It pulsed like a heartbeat.

"This," Uranus said softly, "is the Orb of Eternity. A convergence of divine and demonic essence. Born from the same energy that once created the heavens and the underworld. It can restore what has been lost… or destroy what cannot be controlled."

Cronus's eyes widened. "You intend to use it on Megumi?"

Uranus nodded gravely. "Yes. His soul still clings to life — barely. If I fuse this with what remains of his essence, it may awaken something beyond either god or demon. Something that can stand against the King of Erasure."

Leonidas rose, trembling but resolute. "Then give it to me. I'll take it to him."

Uranus looked at him, sorrow flickering in his eyes. "If you carry this orb, it will burn your essence from the inside out. You may not survive long enough to reach him."

Leonidas smiled weakly, brushing blood from his mouth. "I've died once before. If it means saving him… I'll do it again."

The Demon King's determination burned brighter than any divine flame.

Uranus placed the orb in his hand.

Instantly, the ground beneath Leonidas cracked, his veins glowing red and gold.

He clenched his fist, suppressing a scream as divine and demonic energy tore through him like molten fire.

Cronus looked away, guilt written across his ancient features. "You shouldn't have to bear this burden, Leonidas."

Leonidas turned, his aura flaring violently as the orb's power synchronized with his demonic heart. "We all made Megumi what he is. We owe him this chance."

Uranus's eyes softened. "Then go, Demon King. Bring him back… before there's nothing left to save."

Leonidas nodded once, summoning a portal with the last of his strength. As he stepped through, the battlefield exploded behind him — the King of Erasure unleashing a blast so immense that Olympus itself screamed.

The last thing Leonidas heard before the portal closed was Uranus's voice, resolute and heavy with divine finality:

"Hold the line, my sons. If we fail here… the cosmos falls."

When Leonidas vanished, the light of Olympus dimmed.

Cronus and Hyperion stood shoulder to shoulder beside their father, gazing into the swirling void where the King of Erasure had retreated.

Uranus wiped divine ichor from his lip, his silver eyes narrowing.

"He's gathering power," Hyperion said grimly. "Every world, every star he touches… he consumes."

Uranus stared into the darkness and whispered, "Then the real war begins now."

He turned toward Cronus and placed a heavy hand on his shoulder.

"My son," Uranus said, his voice ancient as the stars, "prepare what remains of the pantheon. Reinforce the barriers between worlds. The King of Erasure has tasted freedom… and he will not stop until existence itself kneels before him."

Cronus looked to the heavens — where once light reigned — now stained by a spreading shadow. "And what of Megumi?"

Uranus glanced toward the distance, sensing Leonidas's fading aura. "If fate is merciful… he may yet rise again. But not as the boy he once was."

Cronus frowned. "What do you mean?"

Uranus's gaze hardened, his voice low, resonant, filled with the weight of prophecy.

"When divine and demonic energies intertwine within a mortal soul, something greater than gods is born. Not creation… not destruction… but balance."

The heavens rumbled as though the universe itself feared what was coming.

And in the farthest reaches of reality — where light met darkness — Megumi Valentine's faint heartbeat echoed once more.
