Chapter 14 - The Brawl

Picks up where Chapter 11 left off.

Yukio:Effortlessly sidesteps Suisei's kick, his expression unchanging, deadpan as ever

What's your problem?

Suisei:Smirks coldly, her eyes narrowed like sharpened blades

My problem? You don't need to know.

Yukio (Internally):

I just wanted to try a walk outside. Now I'm getting kicked at by a lunatic. Why does everything weird happen when she's involved?

Suisei:Lunges forward again, this time faster, her movements sharper. She throws a barrage of punches aimed at Yukio's head, stomach, ribs. Her movements have form—she's trained.

Yukio:Leans left, ducks right, backsteps fluidly—evasive, calculated. He doesn't even look fazed. But then Suisei spins low, trying to sweep his legs.

Yukio:Hops backward, then shoves her in the face with his palm to push her back without hurting her

I recommend you stop doing that. You're just wasting your energy.

Suisei:Stumbles back but regains her balance quickly. Her expression twists into fury—now glaring, teeth clenched

You'll regret that…!! TAKE THIS!!!

She throws herself into a wild kick aimed at Yukio's temple—spinning midair.

Yukio:Tilts his head slightly and sidesteps, her kick grazing nothing but air. He exhales through his nose and turns to walk away, his hands in his hoodie pocket.

Suisei: Don't underestimate me!

She dashes to his side, her hand raised to strike—but stops mid-step.

Yukio (Internally):

This girl… she doesn't know what she's doing.

We're fighting on a kids' playground.

Fine. I'll end this.

He slowly turns toward her. His posture relaxes, but his eyes… shift.

His calm gaze sharpens. His pupils narrow, and an eerie, invisible pressure fills the air.

Suisei:Suddenly freezes. Her vision blurs slightly, like her body no longer listens. Yukio's presence feels... overwhelming. It's not just fear—it's instinctual terror. Something primitive in her says: Do not step closer.

Her knees buckle and she collapses to the ground. Her heart races uncontrollably. Her body trembles, and she clutches her arms without realizing.

Suisei (Internally):

What… what is this?

He hasn't even touched me.

Why does it feel like I'm staring at a beast that's just watching… waiting?

His face is calm, so calm, but I feel like if I blink… he could kill me.

This guy is NOT normal…

Yukio:Steps forward slowly. The sound of his foot hitting the gravel echoes louder in Suisei's head than any explosion. He crouches slightly, leveling his eyes with hers. His voice is still calm—but the weight of it makes her chest tighten.

Listen.

I don't want to fight.

I have no idea what your problem is, or who you are.

But if you're going to pick a fight with someone…

Remember this feeling.

Stay in that pose of fear and realize—

You don't stand a chance against me and don't ever try to fight me again.

He stands back up, turns, and walks away.

Suisei:Still frozen. Her fists shake. Her breath shaky. Eyes glassy.

(W-What is this...? I thought... I thought I could scare him... But I—)

She can't speak. She watches him leave, her pride shattered, fear mixing with confusion.

Scene changes.

Yukio:Enters his apartment, expression unreadable. He slips his shoes off, heads straight for his room, and drops onto his gaming chair.

Yukio (Internally):

What is wrong with that girl?

Fighting a stranger over nothing…

It's just dumb.

Whatever.

He opens his PC. Clicks on his game launcher. Launches a fast-paced online fighter. After a match or two, he returns to the lobby—and a player name appears in the recommendations:

"CuteBunnyGirl291"

Yukio (Internally):

Could it be…?
