Chapter 105 - Chapter 106: Doctor Kahraman

Amir didn't know what this stranger was so happy about and gave him a helpless look.

This middle-aged man looked like he belonged to the upper class. His clothes were tailored and expensive, and he spoke politely. A pity his brain wasn't quite normal.

The man stiffly raised his arms. "A problem like mine probably won't be treated by Doctor Kahraman."

Hearing this, Amir felt something was off and cast a questioning glance.

The man was very talkative. Seeing Amir's confusion, he suddenly became interested and continued to explain in a low voice: "Did you come without knowing anything? Even with an appointment, you're not guaranteed to see Doctor Kahraman. He only takes patients who interest him. The others are treated by his assistants. But someone like your friend... he will definitely be very interested."

"What illness do you have?" Amir finally asked. Although the phrasing might be misconstrued, Amir was at least sincere.

The man didn't overthink it and shook his arms slightly. "I need to replace both of these. This is the best place in the whole sector for cybernetics. Doctor Kahraman is an expert in this field, but recently he only takes full-body modification jobs. People like me can only hope his assistants replace them with some standard models. But even that is much better than the junk I have now! Ever since they malfunctioned, it hurts like hell whenever I move!"

As if he had moved too much, the man grimaced in pain.

"Harley Mann, to Treatment Room 8." At this moment, an announcement came from the speaker above an operating room door.

"Oh, that's me. I have to go. Talk later!" After hearing the call, Harley carefully stood up, keeping his arms pressed tightly to his body, as if afraid of another major jolt.

"Is his arm going to be like the lady's at the door?" Milisen asked indistinctly, her mouth full of dessert.

"That's right. It looks cool, doesn't it?" Amir asked.

"Looks cool! I want one too!"

"Don't even think about it."

There's nothing wrong with your arms, don't think about it. Although Amir appreciated the aesthetic, he would never abandon a perfectly good body for modifications, nor would he let Milisen entertain such an idea.

"Mmm~" Milisen continued to eat and drink heartily. She'd probably forget about it after swallowing this bite. He didn't know how her small body could eat so much. She was like a young Gamorrean.

The light outside the main operating room turned from red to green, signaling Doctor Kahraman's surgery was complete.

The door suddenly opened, and an Ardennian in a white coat walked out. Wrinkled, light-gray skin, short stature, and the signature four arms. These features allowed Amir to recognize him at a glance. Hak had described him before.

"You must be Amir!" Kahraman wasn't as cold as Amir expected. On the contrary, he was very warm, even extending his four arms to give Amir a double hug.

"Hak should have told you. I'd like to borrow your equipment." Amir got straight to the point.

"Of course. The equipment is right here. You can use it anytime. I'll analyze the data for you personally," Kahraman said.

"Thank you," Amir said sincerely. "By the way, a... friend... of mine has some complex injuries. He's in the bacta tank now. I'm afraid I'll have to trouble you with him too."

"Mm, I'll go take a look."

Amir looked at the gentle Ardennian in front of him, thinking, How is he scary like Hak said? He's clearly a very good-natured doctor.

"GH-5?" Kahraman called out, looking for his medical droid.

Hearing a response, the door to the recovery room opened, and GH-5 floated out.

The moment the door opened, Kahraman saw the diagnostic report in GH-5's hand. He naturally took it and began to read.

"Is this your friend's report... physical condition critical, dermal necrosis is severe... everything else is excellent... Hmm?!! Hmm??!!!"

Kahraman was reading the report casually when his eyes suddenly widened. His breathing grew heavy. He suddenly shoved the medical droid aside and strode toward 032.

Seeing Kahraman's unexpected reaction, Amir followed. He wasn't surprised. 032's body definitely had too many anomalies: the inexplicably ulcerated skin, the unseen subcutaneous structure, and the ability to survive in the vacuum of space.

Compared to Amir, 032's body was the one that most needed to be scanned and studied.

Previously, Amir had hoped to find answers after Hak decrypted the stolen data. Now, it seemed he could just let Kahraman analyze it first.

Just as Harley, the man with the paralyzed arms, had said, 032 strongly aroused Kahraman's interest. He opened the bacta tank and began to perform other checks on the boy, muttering to himself as he worked.

"Incredible, incredible... He's actually alive. How do these systems achieve homeostasis..."

Looking at Kahraman, who was deep in thought while hovering on his repulsor-platform to reach the tank, Amir felt bad about interrupting. Fortunately, GH-5 floated over and led Amir to another room for his own basic check-up first.

Leaving Milisen and BD-4 to wait outside, Amir began to walk deeper into the facility. The building was much larger than it looked from the outside. There were more than ten rooms in a row, most of them occupied by patients. It was clear this place was well-known. Although most work was done by Kahraman's assistants, these assistants were already top-tier doctors, not to mention the high-quality equipment.

Amir walked into a specialized examination room. After lying down steadily on the central bio-bed, various instruments began to operate above his body.

Since it was just a preliminary check, it was finished quickly. Amir had just sat up when he heard rapid footsteps outside the door.

Don't tell me Kahraman pulled himself away from 032 to check on me? Amir was a little touched.

The door burst open, and Kahraman rushed in, pushing a repulsor-gurney.

"Out of the way, out of the way! I need to scan this body!" The Ardennian used his two lower, free arms to gesture for Amir to get off the platform immediately.

Seeing 032 on the gurney, Amir was astonished. Hak didn't lie to me. This guy really isn't normal.

Just then, Milisen and BD-4 ran in from behind.

"What are you doing? Is it okay to do this to him?" Milisen asked Kahraman. 032 had clearly just been pulled from the bacta tank. He was still dripping with fluid, which made him look even more grotesque.
