Chapter 4 - A very peculiar family

Astra, wrapped in soft white blankets, rested in Stella's arms.

When William entered, the baby also seemed to sense his presence. Then they both looked at each other, a baby and a grown man staring at each other curiously.

William was tall and slightly muscular, his blue hair falling just below his shoulders, and he had a short, though unkempt, beard, giving him a mature yet relaxed air. His eyes were also the same blue as his hair; he had a noble and majestic temperament that combined a bit with a scholarly aura, as if he were a wise ruler.

On the other hand, Astra's eyes also looked at the man curiously. He could guess this was his father.

But then the silence in the room disappeared when something was heard:

"Tsk, he's going to be more handsome than me... Although I guess that's the least that can come of Stella and me."

William said with a hint of annoyance in his voice, but his eyes showed that he was very proud of his son.

"Stop talking nonsense. You don't have to pretend to be cool around here. Your eyes say it all. If you upset my son, you'll see how I'll take care of you."

Stella responded, a little annoyed, her eyes somewhat cold as she stared at William.

Stella's gaze sent chills down William's spine, and he quickly admitted his mistake. Then, as if trying to escape, he quickly looked for a way to change the subject.

"Thank you so much for your work, Stella. Our son was born so well thanks to you."

A slightly flattering tone could be heard, contrasting with the previously majestic image.

"But please give me some face and let me maintain a majestic image in front of our son."

As he said this, his tone was already somewhat pleading.

On the other hand, Amelia, who was standing to the side, laughed a little undisguisedly.

"Husband, your majestic image exists only in name. There is not a single person in this kingdom who doesn't know who's in charge in this family."

"Uh, but we're clearly the ones…"

"Oh… Who are we?"

A woman's cold, sarcastic voice sounded, making William shudder and feel as if he were buried under a mountain of snow. At this moment, he didn't dare turn around and confront the owner of that voice; his face was a little frightened, and his body was beginning to sweat.

Amelia and Stella, for their part, were snickering, which William could tell and made him feel a little embarrassed.

"I really want to know who's giving you these ideas. Perhaps this is what you talk about in private with your father? It seems like the training sessions have to get longer after a while."

"Mom-Mom, I didn't mean it," William said, his face uglier than eating garbage.

Suddenly, a new male voice was heard, sounding calm: "Wife, please let him in."

"Dad!"

William shouted as he turned around to see the two who had just arrived in the room. His eyes shone at the sight of his father, like a child meeting a superhero.

Worthy of being my father, an eminence on the battlefield and a great commander. William thought.

"Oh, Henry, so you're going to help him? It seems you quite agree with what I was about to say."

The temperature in the room began to drop a little.

"No, no… wife, listen to my explanation."

"This is for our grandson. He shouldn't have to see our petty arguments."

Henry began to sweat. That look… it was the same one he had endured in hundreds of battles, but this was worse: his wife's look.

William, for his part, felt as if his idol had collapsed.

William knew he couldn't wait long.

On the other hand, Astra was very confused. With his new abilities, even though he didn't understand much of the language, he realized that the situation in the room was changing. Then he thought:

What's up with this family? It looks so fun. Everything he saw since his father came in felt a little funny. Astra could see that his father was bragging from his attitude, and then he was reprimanded. But he could also see that it was a very harmonious and close-knit family.

He also noticed that his father might have two wives, since his treatment of the brown-haired woman was the same as he gave his mother who was holding him.

Am I an illegitimate child? No, it doesn't seem that way. The relationship between everyone seems to be very good. Astra couldn't help but sink back into his thoughts.

Then he began to analyze his situation. The room, although luxurious, seemed less modern than anything else, leaning more toward the medieval era. Even the outfits of the maids and the people in the room led him to the same conclusion.

Adding to this the maid who had used her magic on him not long ago, he could deduce that he had been reborn in a medieval world.

Everything pointed to an inevitable conclusion: a world of swords and magic. Just like in the novels he used to read... only now, he was part of the story.

Considering all of the above, plus the fantasy novels he had read in the past, he became more certain of his thoughts: this is a world of swords and magic where might probably prevails over all else. Although it remained to be seen how far his conclusions would go.

That being the case, he assumed it was normal to see these kinds of scenes where there was more than one wife, which, while not common in his previous life, could still be found among the elite of high society. In addition to that, after snapping out of his thoughts, Astra noticed an additional man and woman walk through the door. They looked a little older than his current parents, but not that much older.

He could tell they held a higher status in the family, as both the maids around them and his parents in the room regarded them with considerable respect.

Astra's first thought was that they were his father's older brother's family, as the man bore a strong resemblance to his father, only a bit older.

But then that thought began to fade. Based on the interactions taking place in the room, they seemed more like the head of a noble family.

Soon another thought crossed his mind: It couldn't be... could they be my grandparents?
