Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Incurable

In the days that followed, Su Lingzhi focused all her efforts on the suit design.

However, every time she picked up her pen and looked at the faceless human figure on the sketch, she couldn't help but recall their encounter that night, Fu Yinli's deep and handsome face, his well-defined and sexy torso, and that warm, magnetic, and seductive voice.

She clearly remembered the scent on him, the firm sensation when her fingertips touched his body, and every detail of taking his measurements, which uncontrollably appeared in her dreams.

She felt like she was possessed, hopelessly enchanted.

"Xiao Su."

She had just stepped into a bar when the owner called her.

This bar was located near the apartment she lived in, and she frequented it often, having become quite familiar with the owner.

Su Lingzhi lazily sat at the bar and accepted the drink handed to her.

Boss Gao showed concerned: "Why do you look so preoccupied?"

Su Lingzhi took a sip of her drink, "Just finished a busy day, feeling a bit tired."

"What would you like to eat today?"

"The usual, please."

Later, she chose a seat by the window.

The surroundings were relatively elegant, without flashy crystal light decorations, yet they gradually calmed her heart.

Su Lingzhi gazed languidly at the green plant by the window, and the bustling row of mansions across the street gradually came into view, from blurry to clear.

Light and shadows intertwined on the columns, crystal wall lamps hung on both sides of the main door, which was open, and the gradient light from inside fell onto the floor, emitting a mysterious vibe.

Suddenly, a tall and slender figure emerged from the door, entering her line of sight.

Her eyes brightened, silently watching the man across the street.

The man was impeccably dressed in a suit, his expression indifferent and distant, exuding a steady and sharp aura that made him seem unattainable, deterring others from approaching lightly.

He quickly got into the back seat of a car and left.

Though it was a brief encounter of only a few seconds, she found herself savoring it repeatedly.

She didn't even notice when the owner brought over the meal and sat across from her.

"What are you looking at?"

Startled, Su Lingzhi withdrew her gaze and asked, "What's that building across the street for?"

Boss Gao replied, "It's a private club."

"Oh."

"Why, interested in it?"

Su Lingzhi shook her head, "Just curious, I've lived here for so long without realizing there's such a grand club nearby."

"Only prestigious people can enter that place. You can't just walk in, even if you have money. You have to be a member with a certain status and reputation in society," Boss Gao explained more straightforwardly.

This further confirmed Fu Yinli's remarkable status and identity.

Didn't expect to run into him just by stepping out for dinner.

Su Lingzhi remained silent.

After dinner, Su Lingzhi revised some details on the suit sketch and sent the completed design draft to Fu Yinli.

[Mr. Fu, the suit design is ready. Let me know if there's anything you're not satisfied with.]

The suit used a traditional British cut, neither too extravagant nor overly understated, with an overall look of sophisticated elegance.

The name was in an artistic signature style she designed, intended to be embroidered with black thread on the side waist of the hem, understated and without affecting the overall look. Unless looked at closely, one wouldn't even notice it's a name.

Her first impression of him was all encapsulated in this suit.

This was the first time she messaged him since adding him on WeChat.

Her feelings were like attempting something new and challenging.

After all, it was a two-million British Pounds order, and the pressure on her was immense, fearing he would dislike her design.

Eventually, she only received his reply when she woke up the next day.

[Sorry I only saw your message now]

[Embroider the name on the cuff using golden thread, no brand logo]

Two messages, replied with courtesy, clearly communicating his instructions.

His intention was clear, emphasizing her name without commenting on whether he liked it or not.

Su Lingzhi replied with an "ok," hurriedly found an eraser, and resent the amended design draft.

Soon after, she received his reply: [Approved]

Su Lingzhi smiled, stretched lazily, and released all her fatigue.

It was the weekend, perfect for going out, relaxing, and unwinding.

Just as she was about to head out, her advisor sent a message in the group chat.

[The thesis defense is scheduled for July 12th. Please be prepared]

Seeing this message felt like a bolt from the blue.

There was less than half a month until the defense, and Su Lingzhi instantly lost her mood to go out. She changed her plans, took her computer to the library, and started preparing thesis materials.

...

Having stayed up over the weekend, Su Lingzhi returned to the studio in poor spirits and headed to Rika's office to let her review the suit design sketch.

Rika looked through it carefully, offering no suggestions, and instead asked with concern, "The client didn't give you any trouble, did they?"

Su Lingzhi shook her head, "No, our communication went very smoothly."

"That's good. Our company's fabric design for suits is a major strength. Make sure you clearly communicate the details of the design draft to Group Two so they can handle the pattern-making."

Taking the sketch, Su Lingzhi agreed.

"By the way," Rika stopped her to remind, "The spring/summer collection fashion show at the end of next month has a submission deadline next Wednesday. If it seems difficult, just do what you can. I'm still very much looking forward to your creativity."

Her internship here mainly involved making 150 sketches for the Lyrae custom fashion show and assisting with the event.

These days, she's been busy with her graduation project and the cape suit design, causing her main tasks to fall behind.

150 sketches shouldn't be too challenging, but with the recent influx of tasks, everything is piling up.

It's a bit tricky.

But Su Lingzhi still gritted her teeth and agreed, "Ok."

Difficult as it may be, with some perseverance, it can still be done by the deadline.

Leaving Rika's office, Su Lingzhi went directly to the pattern-making Group Two and handed the sketch to their leader, Katie.

The sheet included four pages, detailing the measurements of each part of the garment, and came with a technical diagram.

Su Lingzhi pointed at the embroidery on the cuff, saying, "I can handle this embroidery."

After looking it over, Katie gave her a disdainful glance and asked, "When's the delivery date?"

"End of this month."

It was still early in the month, with nearly a month left.

Katie accepted, "Alright, I'll have someone start the pattern-making soon. The semi-finished product should be ready by Friday, but you'll have to liaise with the client yourself. There are a lot of orders recently, and we also have a fashion series to handle, so we're a bit short on manpower."

Su Lingzhi saw through her attempt to shirk responsibilities but said nothing.
