Even though those at the foot of the city wall were merely third-rate rebel army troops clad in rough clothing with few weapons, their momentum following continuous victories was enough to make the Imperial Court's regular army on the city walls break out in a cold sweat.
The imposing force charging directly toward them made the City Defense Army atop the County City of Ange involuntarily swallow their saliva.
The city gates were tightly shut, and inside the gates, teams of fully armed soldiers pointed long spears at the entrance, fearing that someone might charge through at any moment.
