The Divine Spear Sect is quite renowned in the martial world, and Jing Dachao himself has made some name for himself, being a recognized tough nut to crack.
Even though many sects are confident in themselves, they are unwilling to take on this tough nut right away.
Even if they win, it might be a pyrrhic victory.
Moreover, if they prematurely reveal their trump card, they will be targeted by others, which is a disadvantage of being the first to strike.
Of course, there are some advantages or benefits for a sect that takes the first move.
"Each Martial Arts Arena, the sect that wins the first match will receive eight hundred taels of gold, a bottle of top-grade golden healing medicine, and twenty catties of deep sea profound iron." Yun Jin explained to Lou Yi.
This is the official reward given by the martial arts tournament to the first brave soul to break the ice.
