None of them was willing to let go, especially Jiang Qi who had his arms wrapped firmly around Shen Yi as though his whole body refused to release him. Shen Yi did not resist either, because in that moment, the quiet warmth in Jiang Qi's embrace felt too heavy to break apart. It was only after a long while, when both of them had calmed down and Jiang Qi had made sure there was no trace of his tears left on his face, that he leaned back slightly. His gaze fell upon Shen Yi with a smile that shone brighter than the sun itself, but soon his eyes shifted into a glint of triumph and mischief.
Then he spoke, his voice carrying a teasing lilt. "You almost left me earlier… but you didn't. I knew my genius plan would work, and it did. You should have seen your face when I talked about Nico."
Shen Yi felt his heart begin to race nervously. He already knew where Jiang Qi was leading this conversation, but he still asked, his tone as calm as he could manage. "What face?"
