Light footsteps approached the kitchen. Jiang Qi and Shen Yi exchanged the same expression, one filled with calculation and readiness for battle.
Apistol was the the first to emerge into their view. Jiang Qi moved fast, grabbing the weapon and pulling the man in, and it was not in a polite way at all. Shen Yi moved swiftly as well, catching the man and locking his neck tightly in his arms. His grip grew harder until the man went limp and fell unconscious.
Jiang Qi quickly took the gun from him and pressed his back to the wall. Just as he leaned to check the corner, a bullet whizzed past his head, forcing him to pull back quickly.
Standing right behind him, Shen Yi said firmly, "Cover me."
Jiang Qi caught his arm and asked in a low voice, "What do you want to do?"
"I'll get a gun," Shen Yi answered simply. His voice carried no hesitation, only calm determination. "It won't be long before they storm in."
