Frostbite in one, a heart that had stopped and been coaxed back into working by one of Nana's healers in the other. Neither of them remembered the fall, the mark, or the hum beneath hearing. Their bodies remembered it, in shivers that hadn't stopped by dawn, but their minds had apparently decided that particular mercy was worth keeping.
