Back at the mansion, everything felt… different.
Teni couldn't look at Dami without remembering the rain. The kiss. The way his fingers had lingered at her waist.
They sat in silence on opposite ends of the couch, pretending to watch a movie.
She cleared her throat. "So… what now?"
He didn't answer right away.
Then he said, quietly, "This wasn't supposed to happen."
Her stomach dropped.
"Oh."
"I mean… I didn't expect to feel anything. I never do."
"So now you feel something?"
He looked at her. Really looked at her. "Yes. And I don't know what to do with that."
Teni stood up.
"Maybe… don't overthink it for once."
Then she walked to her room and slammed the door.
But her heart was still in the living room.
