Chapter 11 - SS1 EP 4

Ryuujin looked at Midoriya and thought to himself:

"He actually doesn't need to use 100% of his power. From what I've skimmed in the data, using 100% damages his own body."

He started walking toward Midoriya. Just before he could reach him, a bursting hedgehog quirk suddenly screeched loudly and lunged straight at Midoriya. Ryuujin quickly reached for his gun to shoot it down, but Aizawa used his quirk along with his scarf to capture the creature.

Aizawa muttered, clearly annoyed:

"Seriously... no matter who it is, don't make me use my quirk so often, alright? My eyes dry out way too easily."

"Geez," Bakugo grumbled and backed off.

After that, they continued the test with sit-ups, flexibility checks, and long-distance running. Ryuujin could sum it all up in one phrase:

Ryuujin:

"That's freakin' easy."

Aizawa:

"Then I'll just announce the results. The total score is a sum of all the events. Breaking it down would be a waste of time, so I'll just say it outright."

Aizawa showed the ranking chart:

1.Momo Yaoyorozu

2.Ryuujin Kazuma

3.Shoto Todoroki

4.Katsuki Bakugo

5.Tenya Iida

.

.

.

19.Minoru Mineta

20.Izuku Midoriya

21.ToruHagakure

Toru:

"Nooo, I don't want to go! Please give me another chance!!"

The invisible girl cried out, tears streaming down.

Ryuujin watched her sobbing just as Aizawa was about to speak. He cut in before the teacher could continue.

Ryuujin:

"Sensei, in my opinion, it's still too early to say she lacks potential. I think if we haven't seen her in an outstanding situation, she might not get through this. Especially because of her quirk."

Ryuujin:

"I believe every quirk has its own weaknesses and strengths. Please consider this carefully."

Everyone watched in surprise as Ryuujin stood up boldly in front of the teacher.

He could've been kicked out on the spot. Luckily, that didn't happen — everyone could see that from Aizawa's bright smile.

No, actually it looked more like the smile of a beggar who just saw free food.

Aizawa:

"Good job."

Aizawa praised him.

But the smile vanished immediately as he slipped back into teacher mode again

Aizawa:

As Kazuma said, technically this test was set up for those with distinctive Quirks in this situation. Hagakure will have a tough time because of her Quirk.

Aizawa said, glancing at the other students.

Aizawa:

Alright, I lied about the expulsions.

He said casually.

This made the other students shout and yell out loud.

Everyone:

What the heck is this!!!

Aizawa:

Everyone, quiet down!

He said as he activated his special ability, effectively silencing everyone.

Aizawa:

Okay, now... I want everyone to change clothes, head back to the classroom, and sit down for a proper introduction.

Everyone:

Yes, sir/ma'am!

He turned and said:

Aizawa:

Midoriya, you should go find Old Man Recovery and get your wounds treated.

After everyone started moving, Ryujin walked beside Aizawa.

Ryujin:

What's this? Softening up now, huh, You-Jerk?

Aizawa turned and used his scarf to restrain Ryujin again.

.

After everyone changed and was walking into the classroom one by one, Ryujin lightly tapped the invisible girl's shoulder and spoke flatly.

Ryujin:

If you want to stay, act like someone who deserves to be here.

She was silent for a moment, then nodded lightly as one last tear dropped to the floor.

Momo, sitting next to me, whispered softly.

Momo:

I didn't think you had it in you to help her.

Ryujin:

No. I just hate being judged by what people can't see.

Ryujin:

...That's what makes it hurt so much.

I smirked slightly.

_________________________________________________________________________

While we were all sitting in the classroom — me, Tokoyami, Jirou, and Momo — we started chatting about how well we did on the exam. Then Aizawa walked in, carrying a clipboard, a water bottle, and wearing a long-sleeve white shirt with a cute cartoon kitten printed near the bottom, with sparkling letters that said, "I'm GooDCaT."

Aizawa spoke up:

Aizawa:

Before any of you say anything, I accidentally spilled coffee on my own clothes. So, I had to put on a new shirt. Sadly, this was all they had left. So if any of you decide to make fun of me, I'm kicking you out. So shut it!

He said that before walking over to his desk and unzipping his sleeping bag.

Aizawa:

Alright, now that that's settled, let's start with introductions. Say your name, your personality, a short explanation, and something interesting about yourself.

He said.

A shiny blond-haired boy stood up and walked to the podium at the front of the classroom.

"Hi, I'm Aoyama Yuga. My Quirk is called 'Laser Belly Button.' I can shoot a concentrated beam of light from my navel, but if I use it twice in a row for too long, I'll... One interesting thing I've discovered about myself is how much I can shine and sparkle!"

He said while striking a pose.

Ryujin:

"Showing off... and how come there's light coming from behind him??"

The next person stepped up.

"Hey, I'm Mina Ashido, but you can call me anything you want! My Quirk is 'Acid.' I can produce acid from my body, and one interesting thing about me is that I love to dance!"

She said cheerfully.

After Mina sat down, a green-haired girl stood and headed to the podium.

"Hi, I'm Asui Tsuyu, but you can just call me Tsuyu. My Quirk is 'Frog.' I can do pretty much everything a frog can, and something interesting about me is that I like to be straightforward—like a frog's song!"

She said.

Then Ida stood up and walked to the podium.

"Hello, I'm Tenya Ida. My Quirk is 'Engine.' I have engines attached to both of my legs, which help me move incredibly fast. One interesting thing I've found about myself is my eagerness to learn."

Ida said while clapping his hands in the air.

Ryujin:

"A bit of a neat freak and seems like he doesn't care much about other people's feelings?"

Next was the brown-haired girl whom Midoriya helped during the entrance exam.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Uraraka Ochako. My Quirk is 'Zero Gravity.' I can remove the effect of gravity from any solid object I touch with my fingertips. However, if I hold an object too long or it's too heavy, I start feeling nauseous!! One interesting thing about me is that I love reading books!"

She exclaimed as she sat down. Then a guy with a tail walked up to the podium.

"Hi, I'm Ojiro Masahiro. My Quirk is 'Tail.' I don't think I need to explain much."

He said, wagging his tail, which made me and the others chuckle.

"One interesting thing about me is that I practice karate."

Ryujin:

"Interesting. A bit plain, but I think he'd get along with others easily."

He said, walking back to his seat.

Next up was Kaminari.

"Hey! I'm Kaminari! Denki. My Quirk is called Electric Power. I can release electricity from my body, but if I push myself too far, I get a bit... scatterbrained."

He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, one cool thing about me is that I'm pretty interested in fashion!"

He said as he walked back to his seat.

Ryujin: "Fashion, huh? Didn't expect that. Well, the lightning guy is pretty strong."

Then the red-haired guy stood up.

"Hello, I'm Kirishima Eijiro. My Quirk is Hardening, which means I can make any part of my body tougher than steel. I think it's pretty manly. However, one interesting thing about me is that this isn't actually my natural hair color."

He said fiercely.

Next was a shy-looking guy. He stood up and pulled out a whiteboard as he walked to the podium.

"Hi, I'm Koji Koda. My Quirk is Animal Communication, which allows me to talk to and command animals. One interesting thing about me is that I've been visiting the zoo every weekend since I was four years old."

Ryujin: "Interesting. Do you usually go alone, buddy?"

That seemed to surprise him, and he quickly nodded at Ryujin before heading back to his seat.

Next was a big guy with crazy muscles, but his lips looked like... well, never mind.

"Hi, I'm Kirido Sato. My Quirk is Sugar Rush. When I eat sugar, my body gets stronger, but afterward, I get really tired. One interesting thing about me is that I like baking sweets."

Ryujin: "Do you sell what you bake?"

Kirido: "Nope. Usually, I eat it myself or give it away for free."

Ryujin: "That's really kind."

Ryujin said, making him smile.

Ryujin: "Tough face, but a really good guy."

Next was a tall, muscular guy wearing a mask.

"Hi, I'm Mezo Shoji. My Quirk is Duplication, which lets me replicate parts of my body onto my arms. If I lose a part, I can create a replacement arm. One interesting thing about me is that having multiple body parts helps me sense things better."

He said as he walked back to his seat.

Then it was Jirou's turn.

"Hi, I'm Kyoka Jirou. My Quirk is Earphone Jack. The jacks on my earlobes are cables I control. They help me hear better and are tough enough to pierce concrete."

She said.

Ryujin: "And those earlobes are pretty cute too~"

He teased softly, knowing Jirou could hear him. He wanted to make her a little embarrassed, and he succeeded as her face flushed.

Jirou: "Um... um... One interesting thing about me is that I love playing instruments and making music."

She said while walking back to her seat, shooting an annoyed look at Ryujin.

Ryujin just smiled back, making her blush even more and turn away.

Ryujin: "Oh, I'm going to have fun teasing her."

After hearing what he said and watching their interaction, Momo patted Ryujin on the back. He looked surprised.

Then it was the turn of a guy with a weird-shaped elbow.

"Hi, I'm Hanta Sero. My Quirk is Tape. I can shoot tape out of my elbows. One interesting thing about me is that I love art and crafts. I know it's funny coming from a tape user, but it's actually really fun!"

He said brightly.

Ryujin: "Wow, that's pretty cool."

Hanta: "Thanks! Hey, if you're interested in art, just let me know—I'll teach you!"

He said as he walked away.

Next was Tokoyami's turn.

"Hi, I'm Fumikage Tokoyami. My Quirk is Dark Shadow."

He said as Dark Shadow appeared beside him.

"He's someone who thinks and fights alongside me. One interesting thing about me is that I found I like the darkness... and I play bass."

He said as he walked back to his seat.

Ryujin: "Why is it so spooky?"

But before I could think further, I saw a red and white-haired boy turn around, his face marked with burns.

He looked handsome but kind of antisocial.

"I'm Shoto Todoroki, son of Endeavor. I have a half-cold, half-hot Quirk. I can create ice on my right side and flames on my left, but I don't intend to use the fire."

He said as he walked away.

Ryujin: "What do you like?"

Todoroki turned to me and stared straight into my eyes, saying:

Todoroki: "I like cold soba."

I nodded slightly. I know those eyes—the eyes of someone filled with rage. I know because I had those eyes too, when I was sent to war for five years before coming to this world.

Ryujin: "Mine can't compare to what you've been through."

Ryujin: "I don't know what you're going through now, but I hope you get through it."

I said quietly, staring into his differently colored eyes.

Todoroki seemed to understand what I meant, as he relaxed and calmed down while walking back to his seat.

The whole class was silent, all looking at me like I'd just done something special.

Ryujin: Who's next?

Everyone seemed to snap out of the trance of waiting for the next person. We all watched silently as a floating school uniform drifted toward the podium.

"Hi! My name is Toru Hagakure, but you can all just call me Toru. My quirk is Invisibility, which doesn't need much explanation. One interesting thing about me is... I love knitting!" she said with a sing-song tone.

"Actually, I'm planning to make something for Kazuma as a thank-you for standing up for me!" she added cheerfully.

I smiled slightly.

Ryujin: Hm. Thanks, Invisible Girl.

Momo noticed that and quietly kicked my leg.

Ryujin: 'What did I do wrong now?'

As Toru walked back to her seat, Bakugo stood up and strode toward the podium.

"I'm Katsuki Bakugo! My quirk is Explosion! I secrete nitroglycerin from my hands, and I can ignite it to create explosions!" he shouted as sparks burst from his palms.

"One interesting thing about me is... I'm the strongest in this damn class! Don't forget that!"

When he finished, the room fell dead silent. I looked at him and laughed out loud.

Bakugo: What the hell are you laughing at, you water gun bastard?

The spiky little bomb turned to look at me. He probably didn't recognize me from before.

Ryujin: 'Damn it, water gun sounds so lame. I could've gone with "gunslinger from Uncle Hong's shop," you know? Behind Dior Siam, ring a bell?'

Ryujin: Nothing, really. You just look like a cheerful hedgehog.

I said that with the biggest shit-eating grin I could muster.

Bakugo: You wanna die, huh?

Sparks started flaring up from his hands.

And then I pushed him even further. This time, my eyes lit up with madness.

Ryujin: Sorry, but...

Ryujin: Your mom's hot, man. Don't you think other people wanna hit that? I sure as hell wanna take your mom for a spin.

Everyone in the room went silent, stunned by what I'd just said.

He roared and charged at me. I dodged the attack and countered with the chair I had been sitting on, smashing it against his head, sending him flying into the podium.

I rushed over to Bakugo as he was about to get up and kicked him in the face multiple times until blood gushed from his mouth and nose.

The classroom fell quiet again. Some of the boys stood halfway up, unsure whether to intervene. Some of the girls were shaking.

Aizawa: Kazuma, stop right now. Or I'll throw you in a cage.

Aizawa barked, visibly angry.

The little hedgehog got up, clutching his bleeding nose and mouth.

In Bakugo's life, there were two times he got wrecked hard:

One — when villains attacked him.

Two — when Kazuma stomped him.

Aizawa: Bakugo, go to the nurse's office. Now.

Bakugo turned toward me with pure rage on his face. I bowed slightly in mock apology.

Ryujin: Sorry, Bakugo-kun. But hey, if you want another beatdown, just let me know.

Aizawa saw that and quickly urged Bakugo out of the room to prevent another explosion.

Aizawa: Get back to your seat, Kazuma.

Bakugo staggered out, helped by a couple of classmates. Blood stained the floor behind his shoes in a long trail. Everyone stared at me, unsure whether to fear me, hate me, or respect the sheer savagery.

Jiro sat frozen, clutching her earjacks to her chest.

Tokoyami turned his face to the window and murmured in a low voice, "The world... is truly dark."

Midoriya gulped loudly, staring only at the floor, not daring to even glance my way.

I sat back down. Just as I did, I felt something gently grab my hand.

I turned and saw Momo, her expression full of curiosity.

'Why did you do that?' she seemed to ask.

Her hand was soft as she held mine.

Ryujin: Sorry. I got a bit hotheaded.

I gave her a small smile.

She understood what I meant and returned a small, warm smile of her own. It made my heart skip a beat.

The rest of the class was still stunned into silence. Class 1-A felt more like a graveyard than a schoolroom.

Aizawa was the one to break the silence.

Aizawa: Alright. Who's next?

As soon as he said that, Midoriya stood up and walked shyly to the front of the classroom

"H-Hello! My name is Izuku Midoriya. My Quirk is 'One For All' – it greatly enhances my strength. The downside is... w-well, it tends to break my bones," he said nervously.

"One interesting thing about me is that I take notes on every Quirk I come across."

Ryojin:"Yo! That's awesome!"

Ryojin shouted, causing everyone to glance at him in surprise. Just moments ago, they had been fighting intensely, and now he was acting like nothing had happened.

Ryojin:"That's what you were writing about when I pulled out my gun, right?"

Midoriya:"Yeah! It's seriously fascinating! Kazuma-kun, if you don't mind, could you tell me more about it?"

Ryojin (thinking):"Wow. This guy's really enthusiastic, huh?"

He nodded in response, a bit amused.

Midoriya walked back to his seat looking genuinely happy. The next student to step up was that little creep who'd been eyeing Momo ever since she entered the room.

"Hello, I'm Minoru Mineta. My Quirk is called 'Pop Off.' I can pluck sticky balls from my head that stick to anything—except me. The longer they stick depends on my emotional state. Once, they stuck for an entire day," he explained.

He seemed to be waiting for a reaction from the class.

"One interesting thing about me is... I love going out—and I'm quite the ladies' man."

He said it with a straight face.

Ryojin's reaction? He wanted to burst out laughing.

Still, he pushed himself upright, biting it back. He knew getting laughed at in front of everyone could seriously crush someone's pride. Everyone hurts, after all. But... well, it was funny. Still, there was something oddly interesting about the guy.

Ryojin:"Hey, short stuff. Wanna hang out sometime?"

Apparently, others were thinking the same.

Denki:"Hey, mind if I tag along too?"Hanta:"Yeah! I bet it'll be a blast!"Fumikage:"Sounds like a compelling plan."Eijiro:"Now that's manly!"

The girls, however, had stayed silent the whole time.

They probably wondered why the boys were suddenly being so supportive of Mineta.Ryojin knew how it felt to be ignored, forgotten, and bullied.Maybe some of the other guys had experienced it too.

Of course, he could also see things from the girls' perspective—Mineta did come off as a creep.

But Ryojin wasn't one to judge. As long as Mineta respected their privacy and showed some decency, Ryojin wasn't going to comment on what he said.

Besides... the guy was starting to grow on him.

Oddly enough, his mood felt a bit lighter.

Mineta:"Absolutely! Let's hang out soon!"

He said cheerfully while heading back to his seat.

Then came Momo's turn. Ryojin motioned for her to go next. She stood tall, walking with an elegant posture to the front of the class.

"Hello, my name is Momo Yaoyorozu. My Quirk is called 'Creation.' I can use the fat in my body to create any object, as long as I understand its atomic structure," she explained.

Ryojin:"That's amazing, Mo-chan!!"

He shouted without restraint.

She turned to him with a flustered face, cheeks glowing red.

He loved teasing her like that—it always got a reaction. And it drew everyone's attention, especially Mina, Tsuyu, Jirou… and of course, the little grape boy didn't miss a beat.

Mineta:"Hey, Kazuma! We really have to hang out soon, alright?!"

I chuckled softly at his excitement and gave him a nod.

"One interesting thing about me is that I love writing. I read a lot of stories when I was a kid, and eventually, those stories inspired me to create my own. If I weren't training to become a hero, I'd probably be a writer," she said with a warm smile.

Ryojin:"Can I read one of your stories, Mo-chan?"

I asked with a playful grin.

Momo:"Sure! But you'll have to take me for a drive first!"

She said cheerfully.

As she walked back to her seat, her eyes never left him. But just before she sat down, she kicked his shin—quick and silent.

Ryojin winced in pain, trying not to cry out loud.

He knew she liked punishing him.Maybe she's a bit of an S, he thought, amused.

Now he was the last one left.

He stood up, hands stuffed in his pockets, walking with a cocky swagger that set him apart from the rest.

He didn't rush to the front—just took his sweet time.

"Hey everyone. I'm Ryojin Kazuma. My Quirk's called 'Solemn Lament.'"

He summoned a gun as he continued speaking.

"I can shoot out an unlimited number of butterfly bullets, and I control them freely. Also, I can summon coffins."

As he finished, a coffin erupted from the ground—startling everyone.

There was another ability he didn't mention. That one was better kept as a trump card.

He smiled and added, "Something interesting about me? Well, I'm devastatingly handsome and ridiculously good at pissing people off."

Then he struck a silly pose before strolling back to his seat, prompting the whole class to burst into giggles.

Aizawa:"Alright. Class dismissed. Check your schedules before heading out."

He made his way toward the door.

Ryojin POV

We were walking down the corridor of U.A., chatting and laughing as a group. It was pretty fun, actually. There were a bunch of us—Kaminari, Mineta, Shoji, Sero, Momo, Jiro, Tokoyami, Koda, and Toru—and somehow, I ended up walking in front. Not sure why, but it felt like I was the leader of this little gang.

Mineta:"Hey! So when are we hanging out?"

Ryojin:"How about tomorrow?"

Shoji:"That sounds like a solid idea."

Ryojin:"I'll be your guide then. Leave it to me."

Sero:"Man, I can't wait!"

Momo:"You're not planning to take them somewhere weird, are you?"

She shot me a sharp glance that made sweat bead down my forehead.

Ryojin:"Mo-chan, c'mon. I'd never take them somewhere sketchy!"

Soon, we arrived at the school gates. Momo and I broke away from the group and headed to the parking lot. I hopped on my bike and pulled up to the front entrance, calling out to say goodbye to the rest of the class.

They noticed the bike right away.

Toru:"Whoa! You have a motorcycle?!"Mineta:"Dude, you're too cool for school!"Tokoyami:"Black… the color of the abyss."Sero:"Holy crap, I never thought you rode a bike!"Koda:"It's so cool… like a black panther in a zoo."

Everyone was surprised, impressed, or both. But then I heard a soft voice—Jiro. She probably didn't think anyone could hear her.

Jiro (muttering):"I kinda want to ride it too..."

Thanks to my heightened senses, I caught that.

I turned to look at her, but before I could say anything, Momo waved goodbye to the others. I gave a nod instead of words and drove off with her riding behind me. Eventually, we pulled up in front of her house.

When we arrived, we shared a soft goodbye kiss.

She stood at her door, fingertips still lightly touching her lips—lips that still held the warmth of our kiss. Her cheeks were flushed a deep red, her eyes fixed on my retreating back as I drove away.

Momo (thinking):'Why is he so damn annoying... but still so warm it shakes me to the core?'

She shook her head slightly, smiling wryly to herself.

Momo (softly):"You might act like a troublemaker... but I know how gentle you really are, Ryo..."

With a heart still pounding, she stepped inside and closed the door gently behind her, leaning against it as if to hold onto that warmth just a little longer.

Meanwhile, I rode off beneath the streetlamps, the city lights casting a golden hue along the road.

I glanced up at the star-speckled sky and let out a soft chuckle to myself.

Ryojin (murmuring):"You really are the only place I can rest... This messed-up world's still worth living in, thanks to you."

I gripped the handlebars tighter and rode on toward my own home, beneath the fading sunlight and the quiet, drifting wind.

Day Two at U.A.

After a painfully boring morning—four full periods of nothing but regular lessons—everyone was finally getting pumped for our Hero Class. The energy shifted quickly. Whispers and speculation filled the air as students guessed what kind of training we'd do today... and more importantly, who our instructor would be.

Most people had already formed their little cliques.

Midoriya was with Iida and Uraraka.Mina hung out with Toru and Tsuyu.Kirishima was, as usual, side-by-side with Bakugo and Kaminari.Sato, Koda, and Ojiro made another group.

Then there was us—my group.Me, Tokoyami, Jiro, Momo, Shoji, Todoroki (surprisingly), and... Mineta.Yeah. Mineta. Much to the dismay of the girls.

Kyoka:"So... who do you guys think our Hero Class teacher's gonna be?"

Shoji:"I hope it's Snipe. That guy always seemed cool to me."

Momo:"Personally, I'd like it to be Ectoplasm. He can make clones—we could actually spar with them!"

Ryojin:"Honestly? I'd prefer Aizawa. But he's our homeroom teacher, so I guess that wouldn't make much sense."

Mineta:"Exactly. It wouldn't really add up. Plus, he mentioned this morning that there's another teacher who'd be giving us more info today."

Kyoka:"Right. But Kazuma... do you already know Aizawa-sensei? The way you act around him, it's like you're... familiar."

Both Tokoyami and Todoroki turned to look at me with raised eyebrows. It was only the second day of class. How the hell could I already know the guy better than they did?

Ryojin:"You really wanna know, huh?"

Everyone in the group nodded.

They were curious. They wanted to know what kind of history I had.Well, alright then. Guess story time has come early.

Ryojin:"About a year ago... I actually lived with Aizawa."

A silence fell over the group.

Shock painted their faces.A student... who had lived with the most intimidating teacher at U.A.?

Ryojin:"Why? Because—"

Ryojin:"He violated me and made me his wife."

I let the sentence hang dramatically... and then burst out laughing like a maniac.

Most of the group either facepalmed or shook their heads.Even a few eavesdropping students nearby groaned.Typical me, right?

Ryojin:"Alright, alright—joking aside."

I shifted my tone.

Ryojin:"I used to go after gangs. Street-level cleanup. One time I went a bit too far, and Aizawa's the one who caught me."

Gasps went around the circle again—and even from those who were totally not minding their own business nearby.A classmate who had taken out gangs?

Some didn't seem to believe it.

But hey, can't blame them. It's a lot to take in.I just shrugged and added:

Ryojin:"Ask Aizawa yourself if you don't believe me."

Everyone exchanged uncertain looks. Some skeptical, some intrigued, and some just outright disturbed.

But I wasn't done.

Ryojin:"Anyway..."

Ryojin: "That's why I'm pretty close with Aizawa-sensei.Like, really close—Level 5 kind of close."

Before he could continue…

All Might (bursting in): "Can I just walk through the door like a normal person?!"

Ryojin: "What the hell…"

Right after he said that, Momo smacked him hard on the back of the head, making him cry out in pain.

Everyone in the classroom turned to look toward the door as All Might made his grand appearance.

As he walked in, All Might's eyes scanned around the room, like he was sizing us all up. His smile was still bright and full of confidence.

But when his eyes met Ryojin's…his grin widened just a little more. Ryojin noticed immediately.

Ryojin (thinking): "Is he gay or something?"

All Might: "Starting today, I'll be your hero course instructor!"

All Might: "And the topic for today is…"

He paused for dramatic effect while rummaging through his bag for something.

All Might: "Combat Training!"

He shouted with enthusiasm.

Bakugo: "Combat?"He said with his usual intense excitement.

Momo: "Training?"She responded with a determined look in her eyes.

All Might pressed a button in his hand, triggering the wall to unlock and retract, revealing numbered suitcases.

All Might: "Inside each of these cases is your custom hero outfit, designed before the semester began!"

All Might: "Young heroes, meet me at Ground Beta once you've changed!"He yelled before dashing off.

Everyone eagerly grabbed their numbered suitcase and headed toward the changing rooms on Basement Level B.

As the boys and girls split off to their respective locker rooms, the air was filled with excited chatter.

Sero (chatting with Ryojin): "What do you think he means by combat training?"

Ryojin: "Maybe some one-on-one fighting?"He said with a mix of curiosity and caution.

Kirishima: "I can't wait to show what I can do!"He shouted enthusiastically.

We kept talking, unaware of Mineta… until he spoke up.

Mineta (whispering while pointing at a wall): "Guys, check this out."

Minoru: "The gods of upperclassmen have given us the gift of light in our darkest hour!"

As Ryojin walked toward him, still halfway dressed, he noticed Mineta peering into a small hole in the wall between the male and female locker rooms.

Without hesitation, Ryojin grabbed Mineta by the head and slung him over his shoulder.

Ryojin: "Listen here, Mineta. Do you wanna be a hero or a damn pervert?Keep acting like this and we're gonna have a serious problem.I don't care if you're a horny idiot—but don't go creeping on others like that. You came here to be a hero. Not a creep."

His voice was firm and unapologetic.

Mineta paused, looking genuinely contemplative—like Ryojin's words actually got through to him.

Minoru: "...Alright."

He replied.

Ryojin gave a small nod and set him down.

Minoru: "You're right. I came here to be a hero, not some weirdo.""And besides… I don't wanna lose my first real friend here."

He said sincerely.

Ryojin looked at the small guy, then smiled and asked Sero for some tape to seal up the hole.

Then I spoke up, looking at Mineta.

Ryojin: "Alright. If you stop being a creep—like, seriously clean up your act—I'll help you get girls, Shorty. You just gotta stop being gross first."

Because deep down, Ryojin knew—every guy wants a girlfriend, but doing it the wrong way won't get you one.

He planned to take Mineta to meet some girls he'd hung out with in the past.Hopefully Mineta would get somewhere... but that's for later.

Right now, Ryojin just wanted to make sure the girls in his class felt safe.No more pervy stuff, not on his watch.

Mineta looked downcast at first, but as soon as Ryojin offered that hope—his eyes lit up.

Minoru: "Really?!"

Ryojin: "You want it or not?"

Minoru: "Thanks, Boss!!"

Jirou's POV

I heard everything Kazuma and Mineta were talking about.Using my quirk, I turned my earphone jack into a receiver and connected it to my phone speaker—so everyone could hear it too.

The part about the hole in the locker room wall? Yeah, we all heard it.

Mina (angrily punching the air): "I knew it! That guy's a total perv!I don't get why Ryojin's even friends with him!"

We kept listening as Kazuma talked to Mineta about being a better person.Mina kept muttering how she didn't get it, but when Mineta agreed… it got quiet.

Toru: "Wow... I didn't expect that."

When we told her Mineta promised to change, she kept listening silently, and then finally said it—

Toru: "He's actually kind of sweet… I think I want him as my boyfriend."

Toru turned to look at Momo.Even from her invisible face, I could tell she was a bit jealous.Actually, we all were.

A little while later, we all stepped out of the locker room.

By then, most of the boys were already outside, doing their best not to look in our direction—especially Mineta, after Ryojin's talk.

Now all the girls had come out. A few minutes after I stepped out—

Only two boys were still waiting: Midoriya and Kazuma.

Green-haired Midoriya stepped out first, wearing a green tracksuit hoodie that looked like bunny ears, and that weird mouth guard of his.

Uraraka immediately ran over and told him he looked great. His face turned completely red.

Momo: "Where's Ryo?"

Ryojin (offscreen): "Couldn't wait for me, huh, Mo-chan?"

A familiar voice called out.

And then he appeared—

Wearing a black hero suit with white inner lining, a black tie, and green armbands. His gloves were pitch black. He wore kneepads and elbow pads.A black tactical mask covered the lower half of his face.In his hands—dual pistols, colored black and white.

And strapped to his back…

A coffin the same size as his body.

Momo: "Wow... I didn't expect you to look this cool."

Ryujin: "Well, I guess it's just natural."

He spoke with a relaxed tone, as always.

Kyoka: "You really do look great!"

I added that with a slightly flushed face. Ryujin casually replied,

Ryujin: "Suits you too, tomboy girl."

Then Mina walked up to our group, locking eyes with Kazuma.

Mina: "I've gotta admit—you look really good."

Ryujin: "Not as good as all of you, though~"He answered with his usual laid-back smile.

Still, that made all of us blush a little in embarrassment. While Kazuma stood there just smiling at us, Kaminari noticed him too.

Kaminari: "Yo! Kazuma!"

His voice drew the attention of the whole class as everyone turned to look at Ryujin's outfit.

Sero: "Dude, you look awesome!"

Tokoyami: "It really suits your presence."

Kirishima: "So manly!"He said, wiping a tear from his eye.

Even Koda received compliments, being told he looked cool too.

Ryujin: "Hey Midoriya, your costume's pretty slick too!"

Midoriya looked genuinely happy hearing that.

[Ryujin's POV]

All Might cleared his throat, snapping everyone's attention back to him.

All Might: "You all look amazing! Truly! You're embodying the spirit of heroes wonderfully!"

He beamed with a wide, proud smile.

He went on to explain today's exercise:A Hero vs. Villain mock battle, with each team composed of two members. The setup:Villains are hiding a nuclear weapon inside their base.Heroes must stop them—by any means.

There are 21 students in total, meaning one team would end up with three members, making things a bit unfair for whoever had to face them.

Heroes win if they can either:

Arrest all villains, or

Recover the bomb within the time limit.

Villains win if they can:

Protect the nuclear weapon until time runs out, or

Capture both heroes.

Team selection would be done by lottery.

When I picked my team...I ended up paired with Midoriya.

Midoriya: "Three versus two…?!"He practically collapsed in spirit the moment he saw the results.

Everyone in class gasped and looked up at the screen. What we had to face was way more than they expected.

All Might turned toward us, giving his trademark grin.

All Might: "Heroes, after all, must always be prepared to face the unexpected."

Ryujin (thinking): 'Yeah… unexpected, alright.'

I looked at the floating system window before me:

[Combat Training Mission]Objective: Defeat Team D

Note: Team D's combat stats are doubled.Your team's stats are halved.

Warning: Bakugo's emotional state is highly unstable. There is a significant chance that Midoriya may die in this encounter.

Reward: +5 EXP, 5000 Coins Failure: Death

I looked on with a sigh, sadness creeping in.

"Sigh... that damn explosive hedgehog..."I hadn't talked to Midoriya in a while, but eventually, I spoke—snapping him out of his daze.

"Alright, let's give it our best, Midoriya."

Not long after, Team D entered the room.Kirishima, Bakugo, and Todoroki—each of them radiating intense presence.

We all exchanged looks. And then, Bakugo—eyes locked on me without a blink—spoke with pure fury in his voice.

Bakugo:"You're gonna pay for what you did yesterday."

I stayed silent for a moment... and then finally responded, calm yet defiant.

Ryojin:"Oh yeah? Well then... which hand do you want me to break first?"

I took off my mask slowly, a deranged smile stretching across my face.I raised my gun, aiming it straight at the spiky-haired menace's face.

The whole class froze—shocked by both my words and behavior.

Kirishima immediately rushed in, trying to defuse the situation and stop both me and Bakugo.

Without much care, I walked forward and threw my arm casually around Midoriya's shoulders. As we left, I muttered just loud enough for Bakugo to hear:

Ryojin:"Get ready, spiky boom boy. I'll make sure you understand who stands above... and who stays below."

I could practically feel Bakugo fuming behind me.No doubt his blood was boiling.

Alright then…Time for some real fun.
