Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Gatto Notes: As you may have noticed, currently the story is a bit slow paced. But no need to worry, it will become faster once the mc reaches the underworld, and I'll be doing a time-skip so we don't waste much time.

Anyhow, enjoy the chapter!

"Ow-! Ow-! Ow-! Stop it!!" Hisaki hissed, as Ram turned her hand that was currently pinching his arm.

"Believe me! I really didn't do anything!" Hisaki pleaded to the pink haired demoness in front of him.

"Hm?" Ram's eyes narrowed before she pinched Hisaki harder and then afterwards let go of him.

'Sheesh! Talk about a free trial of what it's like being married' Hisaki inwardly thought while hissing in pain.

Then, he looked back at Ram who took over his duty of drying Rem's hair and sighed.

"Looks like I just can't beat the real sibling."

Quite frankly, the reason why he summoned the twins despite not summoning both Petra and Meili is because of Ram alone.

She— with her horn intact would be quite the powerful ally and friend. Of course that doesn't mean that Rem is just a +1, In fact if Hisaki remembered correctly, Rem was quite the strong combatant once she got older.

And that was with her being full of guilt because she caused her sister to lose her horn, which Hisaki was sure that affected her training quite a bit.

More than that is, because the two of them worked as maids for Roswaal, meaning they had to divide their time for maid training and such, along with combat training.

Oni's were natural fighters due to their horn which helps them sense, control, and rapidly absorb mana more, plus, Oni are also blessed with enhanced physical body.

Although, they(Rem) might be weaker compared to normal Oni due to only having a single horn.

Hisaki is positively sure that there are lots of remedies for that both in this world, or if there's nothing here, then the Gacha Altar would definitely provide a solution in the future if he's lucky.

But for now, the first thing the twins needed to do was to adapt and adjust in this new world.

....

"So? What do you two think of your first outing in this world?" Hisaki asked with a gentle smile as he glanced at the twins beside him.

The three of them were on their way back to his house after spending the whole day outside, playing and shopping for clothes and other necessities that the girls would need.

Rem and Ram were quiet, as they mulled their answer to Hisaki's unexpected question.

The two looked at each other's eyes, before nodding and turning their heads towards Hisaki and answered with a smile.

"It was fun!"

The two realized how lucky they were to be summoned in this strange yet mesmerizing world full of wondrous items and places.

Rem and Ram felt free. Free from their burdens, the heavy expectations of everyone from their village, and… Free from the feeling that made the sisters drift apart.

Rem especially was really happy, since, for the first time in her life she didn't feel those disdainful and ridicule filled gazes from everyone in the village, sans her sister.

And even though they still haven't moved on from their experience not that long, and the two of them were sure that they would never really completely move on from losing their family despite the pain that they experienced back then.

The two knew that, in this world, the pain they felt would all be replaced by happiness.

But more than that, the two of them were not separated.

And all of it was gifted to them by none other than the boy right next to them. The same boy who's currently carrying bags filled with none other than clothes and other essentials that he had bought with his own money for them.

Suddenly, the twins seem to have decided something as they stopped in their tracks, surprising Hisaki who did the same thing while wondering about the reason for their sudden stop.

"Hisa-nii"

"Hisaki"

Rem and Ram called out.

"Hm? What is it?" Hisaki asked, but the two didn't answer. Instead, he was surprised when the twins embraced him suddenly from left and right before.

""Thank you…"" The twins muttered at the same time, making Hisaki smile gently as he let go of the bags he was carrying briefly before patting both of their backs and replying.

"You're welcome. Rem, Ram. Please take care of me from now on, as well."

That night, after the three of them ate dinner that Hisaki ordered at a nearby family restaurant, Hisaki could be seen sitting on the living room floor, meditating.

Once again, six glowing balls of mana of different colors circled around him which were relaying various feelings one after another while he trained his beginner level flow method.

*Creak*

"Hisa-nii, Rem and Nee-sama have finished taking a bath." Rem's soft voice echoed, prompting Hisaki to open his eyes and found Rem and Ram, now wearing the pajamas that they bought earlier that day, both with wet hair.

"What have you been doing, Hisaki?" Ram asked curiously, seeing the Quasi-Spirits once again fly in different directions.

"Hm? I was training." Hisaki answered after taking a deep breath because training in Flow Method was quite taxing on the body and mind, so Hisaki couldn't help but feel weary every time he practiced the Flow Method.

But even though he was tired, Hisaki stood up from the floor and gestured for the twins to sit on the prepared wooden stool he brought out not long before.

"Come sit, I'll dry both of your hair."

The twins followed Hisaki's words without hesitation, and one of them– Ram, sat on the wooden chair first with Rem's insistence.

Hisaki nodded, and began drying Ram's hair using the blow dryer and the comb that his mother owned previously. It didn't take long before Ram's hair was perfectly dried, much to her satisfaction as she huffed in content before standing up and letting Rem replace her in the wooden chair.

And once again, it didn't take long before Rem's hair was dried perfectly, and just like her sister, she thanked Hisaki before sitting right next to her sister on the sofa.

"Alright, you two can go ahead and sleep now if you want, the room right next to mine on the left is now vacant, and the bed there is big enough for the two of you." Hisaki says while he prepared to store the blow dryer but was stopped by the twins.

"Hisaki, don't set that aside yet." Ram voiced, before Rem followed with an eager nod.

"Un! Hisa-nii, you can take a bath first, and then we can dry your hair too!"

Hisaki gazed at the twins for a moment before he nodded with a smile. "Alright, I'll leave it to the two of you to dry my hair later."

Hisaki then proceeded to go to the bathroom after briefly climbing back to his room and fetching the Pajama he had bought with the twins earlier.

He got out minutes later, now wearing a green pajama, but then paused when he got to the living room because—

Sitting on the sofa, leaning one another were the twins, eyes closed and breathing softly. It was clear to Hisaki that both of them fell asleep because they were tired from their little outing earlier, so Hisaki just smiled before putting away the blow dryer, and putting the wooden stool back in the kitchen.

Then, he gently separated the twins before he carried the two towards their room, starting with Ram, and then later Rem.

Hisaki huffed seeing the two finally on their bed. He was about to leave but felt a tug on his sleeve, a quick look revealed Rem gripping the sleeves of his pajama, not planning on letting go.

Hisaki felt troubled, after all, the twins were girls, and girls aren't supposed to sleep with boys in the same bed unless the two were at the very least friends, family, or in a relationship.

And while he already treats the two of them as friends, and even family to a certain extent— The three of them ultimately met just a few hours ago, so he didn't feel that it was proper for him to sleep with the twins in the same bed.

Unfortunately, it seems that Rem, even while sleeping, didn't plan on letting go of him, so Hisaki didn't have a choice but to sigh and lay down beside Rem, while inwardly promising that this would be the last time he sleeps in their bed, uninvited.

As for treating Rem's action of not allowing him to leave as an invitation? Hisaki didn't think of that at all, because he thought that Rem was just having nightmares about the attack of the cultists that happened not that long ago to the two of them.

In Hisaki's mind, Rem was probably just scared and wanted to find a person to protect her, and she probably mistook him for Ram.

So, after asking one of his spirits to turn off the room's light, before proceeding to turn off the lamp light, Hisaki finally closed his eyes, as the land of dreams claimed his consciousness once more.

~Flash Back End~

'And that's the reason why I was sleeping with them'
