Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Ray was fast asleep in his room, exhausted from the previous day's swimming pool party. His phone buzzed repeatedly on his bedside table, but he didn't stir. It wasn't until the fifth or sixth call that he groggily reached over to answer it.

"Hello?" he mumbled, his voice heavy with sleep.

"Ray, it's Mum," his mother's voice was laced with panic and urgency. "Ray, I need you to come home now."

Ray's foggy brain quickly cleared as he heard the distress in his mother's voice. "What's wrong, Mum? What's happening?"

"It's...it's the house," she stammered. "It's on fire. Matilda she...she did it."

Ray's heart sank as he processed the news. He threw off his covers and jumped out of bed, his mind racing with thoughts of his mom's safety.

"I'll be right there, Mum," he said, already rushing to get dressed. "I'll come as fast as I can."

Ray grabbed his keys and rushed out the door, his heart pounding in his chest. He sprinted through the streets, his eyes fixed on the horizon, praying that he wouldn't see smoke billowing from her neighborhood.

As he ran, his mind replayed the conversation with his mum, wondering what had driven Ryder's mum to such drastic action. He picked up speed, his car pumping furiously as he dashed towards his home.

Finally, he saw the familiar streets of mom neighborhood coming into view. His heart sank as he saw the smoke rising from the direction of her house. Ray's legs carried him faster, driven by fear and adrenaline.

He burst through the gates, his eyes scanning the scene before him. The house was indeed engulfed in flames, firefighters scrambling to put out the fire. Ray's mum was standing outside, her face covered in soot and tears streaming down her face.

Ray rushed to her side, embracing her tightly. "Mum, I'm here," he whispered, holding her close. "We'll get through this together."

As the firefighters finally brought the blaze under control, Emily was still shaken &began to explain the situation to Ray and the authorities.

"When I arrived home from my shop I was expecting a warm welcome," she said, her voice trembling. "Instead, I found my house in ashes. There was a note left behind, clearly planted by Ryder's mum."

Ray's eyes widened in shock as he listened to his mum's account. "What did the note say?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Emily hesitated before responding, "It said ,my child's future is non-negotiable, yours is about to be reduced to ashes starting from your House

bitch", ' I have no idea what she's referring to, but it's clear shes."my prime and lead suspect ...

The police officer taking notes looked up, his expression serious. "We'll investigate this further, ma'am. Can you tell us more about your relationship with Ryder's mum?"

Well which is Ryder's

Matilda used to be my Best friend, she knew of my relationship with Backwood my husband and the current father of my 2 children now

But that bitch....

Your words mam...

The authorities cut in

Well am sorry am just angry 😡

You can go on..

she drugged backwoods and slept with him Resulting to her getting pregnant for him

Backwood had no choice than to marry her ,

But he loved me so much that he Married me properly Afterwards

But that whole scenario created a saga between us and our friendship

The complex web of relationships and betrayals between I, and Ryder's mum, and our shared husband and kids father is a dramatic and intense situation.

But Backwood's decision to marry both women, despite the circumstances, and the arrangement for the children to live separately, adds to the tension.

The rivalry between the two mothers, fueled by the father's favoritism towards Ray as the future heir to his company, has clearly created a deep-seated resentment.

And this led to Ryder's mum's actions, burning down my house, is a manifestation of her anger and sense of injustice.

Ray's mum sighed, "We've had our differences, but I never thought it would escalate to this. I'll cooperate fully with the investigation."

The firefighters and police continued to process the scene, taking statements and collecting evidence. Ray wrapped his arm around his mum, offering what little comfort he could.

As they stood there, surveying the damage, Ray now understands what had driven Ryder's mum to such extreme behavior. He felt a mix of emotions - anger, sadness, and fear for their future.

The investigation would likely take time, but for now, Ray and his mum had to focus on finding temporary accommodation and rebuilding moms house.

Ray led his mum to a secluded mini mansion, nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The property was surrounded by lush greenery and a high wall for privacy.

As they entered the mansion, Ray's mum was taken aback. "Whose house is this?" she asked, her eyes scanning the elegant interior.

The interior design was sleek and modern, with polished marble floors, high ceilings, and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The living room was furnished with plush sofas and a statement piece of artwork.

The kitchen was equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and ample counter space. A cozy dining area had a large wooden table and chairs.

Ray smiled, "Don't worry, Mum. This is one of Dad's properties. He gave it to me for safekeeping."

His mum raised an eyebrow, "One of his properties? Ray, I had no idea..." She trailed off, still taking in the luxurious surroundings.

As they settled in, Ray showed his mum around the mansion, introducing her to the comfortable bedrooms, spacious bathrooms, and serene outdoor spaces.

Despite the initial shock, Ray's mum began to feel a sense of relief and gratitude towards her son for providing a safe haven during this difficult time.

Ray's mum wrapped her arms around him, her eyes shining with tears. "Ray, I love you so much. You're always there for me, no matter what."

Ray hugged her back, feeling grateful for their bond. "I love you too, Mum. You've always stood by us, supported us, and loved us unconditionally. I want you to feel safe and happy here."

He pulled back and smiled.

"I'm going to hire some staff to take care of the house. A cook, a chef, a cleaner, a gate man, and security. You'll have company and feel comfortable."

His mum's face lit up. "That sounds wonderful, Ray. Thank you."

Ray nodded. "I'll spend time with you in the evenings, before heading back home. I don't want Amy to worry, so let's keep this arrangement between us for now."

His mum nodded, feeling grateful for her son's thoughtfulness. "I understand, dear. Thank you for taking care of me."
