Confined to their room, Natarle anxiously paced back and forth.

Murrue and Mu sat on two separate sofas, their expressions somewhat grim. Just then, the room suddenly shook violently.

"An earthquake?"

Mu swayed.

Murrue quickly gripped the nearby handle, her face grim as she said,

"This is a space fortress; how could there be an earthquake? The fortress must be under attack; something's happened."

Natarle steadied herself and said urgently,

"We must get back to the Archangel immediately."

"But, the guards outside..."

Just as Murrue was speaking, gunshots and several thuds of bodies falling to the ground echoed from outside.

Murrue and the two others exchanged glances, then went to the door, pressing against the wall, on alert. Soon, the gunfire ceased, and a clear sound of footsteps entered their ears.

Murrue frowned slightly. These footsteps sounded familiar, as if she'd heard them somewhere before.

Before she could think further, a knock sounded.

"Hey, are you in there?"

Murrue's beautiful eyes narrowed as she heard the voice, revealing an astonished expression.

"Mikazuki?"

"I finally found you. Huh, how do you open this door?"

After confirming it was indeed Mikazuki's voice, Murrue said joyfully,

"It's fingerprint-controlled. The fingerprints of the soldiers outside should work."

Mikazuki, who was outside, heard this. He saw a fingerprint identification panel beside the door, casually pulled up a dead body lying on the ground, and pressed its hand onto the panel.

The alloy door immediately opened, and Murrue quickly rushed out from inside.

"Mikazuki..."

Murrue's originally somewhat joyful expression froze upon seeing Mikazuki. Natarle and Mu were equally startled.

Murrue looked at the boy before her, his entire body stained crimson, and said with a trembling voice,

"You... are you, Mikazuki?"

"Huh? Yeah."

Mikazuki seemed to realize why Murrue had that expression. He glanced down at himself, scratched his head, and said,

"A bit messy, huh? Can't be helped, there were just too many people, and they were all pretty close. Blood got everywhere. Compared to me, you probably already noticed, this place is under attack. The Archangel is almost ready. Hurry up, we're just waiting for you."

The shaking occurred again, even more violently than before. The fortress had artificial gravity, so Murrue almost lost her footing, but was fortunately steadied by Mikazuki's blood-stained hand.

"Right, hurry back to the Archangel."

Looking at Mikazuki's bright eyes, Murrue finally recovered. Mikazuki's matter could wait.

Although they were now out, they were still on someone else's territory, and their situation remained dangerous. It wouldn't be over until they returned to the Archangel.

Mu picked up a rifle from the ground, a forced smile on his lips, and followed behind Mikazuki.

What in the world is this boy? Did he crawl out of a pile of corpses? But even if he crawled out of a pile of corpses, being completely covered in blood yet remaining expressionless... This is terrifying.

Murrue also looked at Mikazuki's seemingly very thin back with a complex expression. What had he been through...?

Just then, Orga's voice came through Mikazuki's comms.

"Mikazuki, things seem a bit bad. This fortress's defensive umbrella, which it relies on, has been destroyed. The attacker is a mobile suit, one of the four Gundams stolen from the Earth Alliance. That mobile suit's intrusion wasn't detected by the radar here, likely due to some function. Ask them behind you."

Mikazuki glanced behind him.

"The attacker is a Gundam. It seems it wasn't detected by radar. Do you know anything about it?"

Gundam?

Murrue's pupils constricted.

"Could it be the Blitz? No, it must be the Blitz Gundam. This mobile suit is equipped with a special optical camouflage system that the other four Gundams don't have."

"Using a Mirage Colloid system of elementary particle gas, it can render the mobile suit invisible for a certain period, and the radar won't react. It's what they call invisibility."

"But the cost is that its usage time is limited, and its PS armor effect cannot be activated while in use."

Mikazuki blinked when he heard this but didn't stop. This system sounds just like Barbatos's stealth function.

No, could it be that my Barbatos is equipped with this thing?

Orga's voice appeared.

"Barbatos's stealth function is much stronger than this Mirage Colloid. Barbatos's stealth has no time limit. That alone makes the Mirage Colloid incomparable."

"Is that so?"

Murrue heard Mikazuki say something and asked,

"Who are you talking to?"

"No, no one."

As Mikazuki hurried Murrue and the others towards the Archangel, the entire command layer of Artemis descended into chaos.

"Major, we still can't contact the Major General and the adjutant."

Vidar asked urgently,

"Is it electromagnetic interference?"

"No, it's that no one is answering the communication."

Vidar's brow furrowed deeply.

"What? What in the world happened?"

"Report! The defensive umbrella has been completely destroyed, beyond repair. At the same time, two more mobile suits are rapidly approaching. The ZAFT warship that previously retreated is returning here."

Vidar's expression changed, but he was a Major after all, and his military bearing remained.

If the adjutant and commander weren't there, he had to take on temporary command. He waved his hand.

"Send all Mobius units to intercept. Bring the Major General back from the Archangel as soon as possible to take charge of the situation."

"Yes, sir!"

Although this was a very sensible response at the moment, Artemis no longer had its protective umbrella. A deep sense of unease rose in Vidar's heart.
