As the night deepened, Anik found himself reflecting on everything that had happened since he arrived here. The bonds he was forming, the laughter he shared, and the sense of belonging he hadn't felt in years—all of it was slowly weaving a new purpose into his life.
For the first time, he didn't feel like an outsider looking in. He felt like he was home.
As the moonlight softly streamed through the window, the room was bathed in an ethereal glow. Anik sat motionless on the chair, his fingers idly brushing against the locket around his neck. His eyes were fixed on the ceiling, but his mind was far from the silent house. The faint chirping of insects outside seemed magnified in the stillness, a reminder of how the night held secrets untold.
Anik's thoughts were a swirling tempest of determination and sorrow. "I know what I have to do," he mused silently. "My family's dream... it will live through me. Becoming the ruler of this multiverse is more than a goal—it's a promise to them, to Rose."
His fingers tightened around the locket, and a flash of Rose's face crossed his mind. Her smile, her voice—it all felt so distant now. "I failed to protect her, to protect them all... but I won't fail again."
Anik opened a notebook, its blank pages almost mocking the enormity of the task ahead. With a steady hand, he began writing, each word a declaration of intent:
1. Return to the Paradise of Eternity.
2. Strengthen my powers, both with and without the blue crystal.
3. Find the one who destroyed my family and Rose.
His pen paused, hovering over the page. A deep breath escaped him as he jotted down a final thought:
"Without the blue crystal, I must find the true depths of my strength. This power is not just a gift—it's a burden, and I must master it."
The resolve in his heart burned brighter than ever, yet as the night wore on, fatigue finally claimed him. He slumped forward, his head resting on the desk, the pen rolling from his fingers.
Meanwhile, Arpan stirred in his bed, his mind restless. He sat up slowly, his small frame illuminated by the moonlight. His gaze wandered toward Anik, slumped over the desk. Quietly, he padded across the room, his steps soft against the wooden floor.
As Arpan approached, he saw the notebook lying open on the desk. Curiosity sparked in his young mind, and he carefully lifted it. His eyes widened as he read the contents, particularly the mention of the blue crystal.
"So that's the source of his power," Arpan thought, a mix of awe and intrigue flickering in his expression. His fingers lightly traced the words, and his gaze shifted to Anik's chest. "The blue crystal... If I had that, I could be just as strong as him. Maybe stronger."
Arpan's gaze shifted to the sleeping Anik, his expression darkening. For a moment, he entertained the thought of taking it then and there, his fingers twitching at the idea. "If I take it now... no one would stop me. Not even him."
But a cunning grin replaced his dark thoughts. "No, not yet. Power is nothing without timing. Let him think I'm loyal. Let him believe I'm his little brother. And when the time comes..."
He placed the notebook back on the desk and grabbed a blanket, draping it over Anik with an almost mock tenderness. "Rest well, Anik. You'll need your strength for what's coming," he whispered softly, a sinister edge to his voice.
As Arpan returned to his bed, his mind wandered to Rina and Luna. His eyes flickered toward Rina, her serene face illuminated by the faint glow of the moonlight. "She's beautiful," he thought, a hunger flashing in his gaze. "Strong, innocent, perfect. She could be mine if I play this right."
His gaze shifted to Luna, who slept soundly on the other side of the bed. A smile touched his lips, but this time, it wasn't warm. "And Luna... she's already devoted to me. She'll never question me, never leave me. Even if I turn my attention to Rina, she'll stay. They both will."
Arpan lay back on the bed, his thoughts spiraling deeper into manipulation and desire. "Anik will pave the way. He'll fight, struggle, and bleed for his ideals. And when he's done... when he's fulfilled his purpose... I'll take everything."
His eyes closed, but his mind remained alert, planning and scheming. In the silent house, the warmth of family and unity that Anik cherished masked the growing shadow of betrayal and ambition. While Anik dreamed of fulfilling his family's legacy, Arpan dreamed of something far darker—power, control, and the complete domination of those around him.
The soft light of dawn filtered through the windows, casting a gentle glow over the peaceful household. Anik stirred awake, blinking a few times before quickly sitting up. His eyes fell on Arpan, Luna, and Rina, still curled up in their beds, their breaths even and calm.
"They look so peaceful," he thought, a faint smile playing on his lips. "This is what I've been fighting for—a world where moments like these can exist."
He rose quietly, careful not to wake anyone, and made his way to the kitchen, where Maya was already bustling about.
"Good morning, Anik," Maya greeted warmly, handing him a watering can. "Could you water the flowers while I prepare breakfast?"
Anik nodded, taking the can. "Of course. I'd be happy to help."
As Anik stepped into the garden, the crisp morning air greeted him. He moved among the rows of flowers, each drop of water glistening like tiny jewels in the sunlight. The vibrant colors and the gentle hum of bees brought back memories of his mother, Seraphina.
He could almost see her in their royal garden, humming softly as she tended to exotic plants, her presence radiant and calming.
"Mother," he murmured, his grip on the can tightening. "I miss you... and Father. You both gave me everything, and now I'm experiencing life in a way I never thought I would."
His mind wandered to his father, Regulus, a figure of strength and wisdom. The contrast between his royal upbringing and this simple, grounded life struck him deeply. For the first time, he felt a sense of balance between his past and present.
Returning to the kitchen, he found Maya setting out ingredients for breakfast.
"What's next?" Anik asked, rolling up his sleeves.
Maya smiled. "Let's make pancakes. Rina loves them, and I think Arpan and Luna could use something sweet to start their day."
Together, they mixed the batter, flipped pancakes, and packed tiffins for the kids. Maya glanced at Anik, noticing the way his hands moved with precision.
"You've done this before, haven't you?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her tone.
Anik chuckled softly. "Not exactly. But it reminds me of my mother. She used to cook breakfast for us despite having royal chefs. She said it was her way of staying connected to us."
Maya nodded, her expression thoughtful. "She must have been an incredible woman. And now you're here, learning to do the same for a new family."
The word "family" struck a chord in Anik's heart. "Family..." he repeated softly, his resolve strengthening. "Yes, that's what this feels like."
A little later, the sound of stirring from the bedrooms signaled the others waking up. Arpan and Luna stumbled into the kitchen, their hair tousled, followed by Rina, who rubbed her eyes sleepily.
"Good morning, sleepyheads," Maya teased, placing plates of pancakes in front of them.
Arpan sniffed the air appreciatively. "Is that chocolate pancakes? You're spoiling us, Maya!"
Luna grinned, grabbing her fork. "Best way to start the day!"
As breakfast wrapped up, Maya turned to Anik. "Anik, how about you go to school with Arpan today? You could use a break from chores and training."
Anik raised an eyebrow. "School? Me?"
Thomas entered the room, nodding in agreement. "It's a good idea. No one will recognize the truth about you or Rina. To them, you'll just be another transfer student. Besides, it'll give you a chance to see the world Arpan and Luna live in."
Arpan looked up, his face lighting up with excitement. "Really? You'll come with me? This is going to be awesome!"
Anik hesitated for a moment but then nodded. "Alright. I suppose I could use a little adventure."
Rina tugged at his sleeve, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Can I come too?"
Thomas smiled, crouching down to her level. "Not this time, little one. But don't worry, you'll get your own adventure soon enough."
Rina pouted but nodded, trusting Thomas's words.
As they prepared to leave, Anik found himself looking forward to the day. Despite his grand plans and the weight of his mission, this glimpse of normal life felt refreshing.
"This is what they fought for," he thought, thinking of his parents and Rose. "A chance for a simple, happy life. If I can protect that for them, then it's all worth it."
With Arpan leading the way, Anik stepped out of the house, ready to experience a day unlike any he'd had before.
