"Techniques are not just moves. They are echoes of one's soul, shaped by Dao, honed by pain, and etched by intent. But beware--some techniques were never meant to be remembered."
1. What Are Cultivation Techniques?
Cultivation techniques are the heart of a cultivator's strength. They shape how one cultivates, how fast one grows, and what kind of martial path they follow.
Techniques fall into three categories:
A. Cultivation Methods (功法 - Gongfa)
Internal breathing methods that define how a cultivator absorbs, refines, and stores Qi.
Ranks (Lowest to Highest):
Mortal Grade – Common in villages and low-tier sects
Earth Grade – Mid-tier sects and core disciples
Heaven Grade – Reserved for elite heirs or ancient legacies
Divine Grade – Forbidden or mythic; often incomplete or fragmented
Origin Grade – Rumored to predate the Heavenly Dao
Examples:
[Nine Circles Breathing Scripture] (Earth Grade)
• Focused on refining Qi into dense internal energy. Stable but slow.
[Void Devouring Scripture] (Heaven Grade)
•Consumes spiritual energy from surroundings and enemies. Dangerous if uncontrolled.
[Eternal Phoenix Sutra] (Divine Grade)
•Allows reincarnation at death if the flame is not extinguished.
B. Martial Techniques (武技 - Wǔjì)
•External or combat-focused techniques. Includes sword arts, palm strikes, movement, defense, etc.
Ranks: Same system (Mortal → Origin)
Subtypes:
Movement Arts (e.g., shadow steps, void shifting)
Sword/Palm Arts (e.g., cleaving styles, silent strikes)
Body Refinement Techniques
Sealing Techniques (used to trap, suppress or seal)
Defensive Qi Shields / Formations
Examples:
[Thunder Gale Step] (Earth Grade Movement)
•Boosts agility and allows thunder-infused footwork.
[Heaven-Slaying Palm] (Heaven Grade Palm Art)
• One-strike explosive palm that crushes protective barriers and dantian.
[Shadow Weave Sword Style] (Divine Grade Sword Art)
•Forms dozens of illusory blades in shadow. Only one is real—and fatal.
C. Forbidden Arts (禁术 - Jinshu)
Taboo techniques, often involving sacrifice, destruction of natural laws, or forbidden truths. Banned by sects or sealed in vaults.
Traits:
Require blood, lifespan, karma, or soul as cost
Often addictive or corrupting
Cultivators who master them walk a path between divinity and madness
Examples:
[Soul-Severing Rebirth Technique]
•Allows the user to reincarnate while retaining memory… at the cost of all karmic ties and spiritual anchors. (Used by Lin Feng in secret?)
[Blood Dao Exchange]
• Trade one's own cultivation level to instantly cripple another. Highly unstable.
[Heaven-Eater Seal]
•Forbidden technique said to devour Dao Laws from other cultivators. Requires immense Void Affinity and perfect soul control.
[Karmic Puppet Ritual]
• Implant karmic parasites in others. Control them like living talismans.
Bonus: Legacy Techniques(Passed down via bloodlines or ancient inheritances)
Can be awakened through bloodline, ancient relics, or soul resonance.
Often come with a price — like sharing the bearer's fate or activating ancestral memories.
These techniques evolve based on the cultivator's path.
Example:
[Void-Forged Soul Armament] — A technique Lin Feng inherits from his previous self: allows him to forge spiritual weapons directly from devoured Dao fragments.
"The blade in hand is only as powerful as the blade in the heart. But what happens when the heart is filled with darkness, revenge… or emptiness?"
