They stared at me with judgmental eyes, making my skin shiver from their gazes. I shook my head, and that same cold voice filled with authority spoke. "Your punishment will be 20 lashes."


The room was silent with its heavy atmosphere, and I didn't say anything because I knew nobody would stand up for me. All I knew in that moment—I wanted to get it over with. 


But all of a sudden, I lifted my head. I looked at him. His blue, icy eyes furrowed in confusion toward me. 


He doesn't know about the part where I nearly got assaulted, and like everyone else, he thinks I assaulted Xue Rui just because I didn't like him.
