Chapter 2 - A Simple Request

Aeon materialised into thin air high above the edge of his hometown. He took the request out of his pocket to see where the delivery needed to be picked up. After scanning the paper, he saw the name of the town.

"Hage Town... isn't that?"

Aeon only remembered a few characters from the anime, mainly the main characters and some women. Mostly because the women were extremely beautiful. Hage Town was the starting point in the anime. It was where Asta and Yuno's story started.

He looked into the vast horizon, searching for his destination. His eyes scanned the horizon, looking for the giant tower where the grimiore ceremony would take place next week.

"Even with the Six Eyes, that tower is still a speck in the distance."

After teleporting a few more times, Aeon arrived at Hage Town. He floated high above the town searching for the papermill. He even found the church where the two main characters lived. Looking down, he saw two heads of hair. One black and one ashy white. "That must be them...."

He teleported to the edge of the town so he could walk in like a normal person. After getting a couple of weary glances, he walked his way into the papermill. A man working on a new batch of paper looked up to see who was visiting.

"Hello, can I help you?"

"Yes, I'm here to pick up an order for Mrs. Marron. I have the request form here from our town's board."

The man walked forward and took the paper from Aeon. He skimmed the words on the request. He handed the paper back to Aeon, who put it back in his pocket. He turned around and walked into his backroom. After waiting for a few moments, the man returned with a big brown box wrapped with twine.

"Here's the order for a Mrs. Marron. A couple of bundles of paper."

The man put the box on a nearby table. He took a piece of paper folded under the twine. After reading the paper, the man looked at Aeon.

"I'll be expecting payment in the next week."

Aeon gave the man a nod and picked up the big box. After leaving the paper mill, Aeon soon left the town to complete the delivery. He wanted to practice his technique a bit more before the ceremony next week. He thought about visiting the church, but he figured it wouldn't be a good idea to visit the main characters this early in the story.

Fortunately, the journey back to his hometown didn't take as long, just a couple of teleportations, and he was back at the edge of his town. Walking back to the center of the town, he deviated to the left. He'd only been to Miss Marin's class a couple of times, and it had been a while since he had been back. After searching for a few minutes, he found the medium-sized building where her classroom was located. He knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. Waiting for a few moments, he got no answer. He grabbed the door handle and twisted, opening the door. He found no one in the classroom, just a bunch of empty desks and a blank chalkboard.

"Anyone here? I need to complete a delivery." Still no answer

"Hey, what are you doing in my mom's classroom? Who are you?"

Aeon turned around to see Sol standing in the doorway, hands on her hips, trying to give a menacing glare. She wore a brown dress to match her skin with white sleeves. Aeon smiled and set the box on the teacher's desk. He took the request from his pocket and held it out toward her.

"My name is Aeon. I'm just making a delivery for your mother for some papers for her classroom. Do you know where she is? So I can get paid."

Sol walked forward and snatched the paper from his hands. She glanced at the paper now in her hands. Sol looked back at Aeon and then at the box a couple of times.

"I'll have to go get the yuls from her if you can wait outside for a little bit."

Aeon just nodded his head. He started following Sol toward the exit. Scanning the classroom one more time before leaving. Sol turned around at the door, blocking the exit.

"How old are you?"

"15"

Sol's face lit up in a smile. "So you're a little older than me. I'll be 15 in time for the next Grimoire Ceremony. Which is next week."

"I know, I'm going too."

Sol turned back around and walked out of the classroom. Aeon followed after her. "Just wait here for a moment." And she took off down the road.

Aeon put his hands in his pockets and leaned against the building while he waited. He wondered what he should do for the next week while he waited for the Grimoire Ceremony. After pondering life for a few short moments, Sol came running back down the street with a small bag.

"Here's your payment for the delivery." Sol handed the bag towards Aeon.

Aeon reached towards the bag, and his fingers brushed against Sol's.

Their eyes met, and Sol's widened for a moment because she just noticed how blue his eyes were. Aeon quickly pulled his hand away.

"Thanks for the payment, I'll see you next week for the ceremony."

Aeon waved bye and turned around to head back home. Sol stood there for a few more moments, a tiny blush decorating her cheeks. She closed the door of the classroom and made her way home. Arriving home, she called out to her mother.

"Mooooooom! I'm back." Sol got her reply a moment later.

"In the kitchen."

Sol walked through her living room/dining room toward the kitchen. She found her mother over a boiling pot of vegetables. The smell coming from the boiling pot was the smell of a home-cooked meal.

"Do you know a boy named Aeon?

Sol's mother stopped stirring and set her ladle on the stove. She turned around and looked at Sol. She noticed the tiny blush on her cheeks. Her smile turned mischievous. "Does someone have a crush on our resident delivery boy?"

Sol's blush magnified. She stomped a foot on the ground and started berating her mother for asking such a stupid question. "Of course not, I'm just curious as to why he's working as a delivery boy."

"You can ask him yourself when you all travel to the Grimoire tower next week."

"But I'm curious nowwwww."

Her mother never said anything after that short discussion. All Sol could do was sigh deeply and shrug her shoulders. After knowing her mother for almost 15 years, Sol knew she wouldn't be getting an answer.

On the other side of town, Aeon arrived back home in time for dinner. He walked up to the door of the orphanage and knocked on the door with the special code. After waiting a few moments, the door swung open to reveal Lily grinning up at him.

"Aeon! You're back!"

Aeon smiled down at her and walked in, closing the door. He noticed Rodrick was already at the table waiting patiently for dinner. Rodrick looked and saw that Aeon was back. He jumped off his chair and ran towards him.

"Aeon, what's for dinner? I'm starving."

"Come on, you two, I'll make us some grub."
