The next day I wasn't in the mood to go to work.
It was like I lost my best friend and the Love Of My Life.
All I needed at this moment was my best friend ,Louisa .But her absence made me lose my mind. All I needed was emotional support . Thinking of someone who could, I called Jessica but she didn't pick up the call .
Just then the door bell rang. It was Chloé with the cops. I couldn't bear the bottled emotions and burst it all in front of them which was kind of embarrassing later on. She comforted me which gave me Louisa's presence.
It was like God sent Chloé in Louisa's absence .They actually came up for further investigation. They even brought the dagger sealed in a plastic bag.
Then officer James said,
"We searched for finger prints in the dagger and we used that information to identify the suspect .
We collected fingerprint samples and none of them match with other suspects.So we had to send the DNA in the fingerprint for further study and we guessed the person's face using his gene and technology."
I replied ,
"his genes? "
he continued,
"Yes the person who has committed this crime is a male and he looks like this."
He showed me a paper with a face of a guy .And his face was so familiar that I thought to check the social media account of Louis.
He is a friend of Jade. I know everything about Jade without even actually meeting him. His face matched with the guy in the paper ,
but how ?
It's impossible for Louis to kill Jade and someone he doesn't really know exists, Louisa . I showed them his photo and told them that this is impossible.
He replied ,
"nothing could go wrong as the paper says because the genes are decoded using technology .You say that he is a friend and there is a possibility that all have been done due to the root cause of jealousy in their friendship."
I explained ,
"Sir, you have a point but my perspective would rather say about Louis and Jade. I have never sensed the smell of jealousy between them . Both of them are equally successful in their career and none of them are in a relationship with any girl ."
All this time Chloé was observing the photo of that guy and the paper.Then she said ,
"Officer James is correct Matilda. The faces match, details too. I need to see Louisa's house.
Let's go over there to find more clues. Matilda ,you haven't touched anything in the house .Right? "
I replied,
"No I haven't, except for the switches and a pen with a paper. Also the knob of the door of Louisa's room ."
She said, "okay, please carry the keys and let us all go over there and Matilda, please wash your face .Your face is swollen and your eyes have got bloody red. I got myself freshened up and took the keys ,ready to face what is coming up next.
