"Did you strike your head on the way back from slaying Mother?" Kol asked. He grabbed my hands gently as he looked at me with fake concern "Nik, Mikael is your not father who likes to beat you. Should you not be quaking in fear right now? Planning our grand escape?"
Niklaus couldn't help but roll his eyes. "Yes Kol, I know who Mikael is. But there are 5 of us and only one of him, and we have the same abilities as him. If we continue to fear him he will just continue to hunt all of us down. After all you are aids in our mother's demise."
"What in the gods does that mean Niklaus, you were the only one with your hand in her heart!" Rebekah shouted as she pointed her finger at him
"How did you come to know I tore her heart from her chest?" He questioned curiously.
"We see her body there, and here heart lies beside it" Elijah deadpanned
Niklaus turned to see that he in fact could still see his mother from here
Oh
"In any manner" This time Finn spoke up looking thoroughly unamused "Mikael will return soon, what shall we do?"
"We will slay him, and this is how we shall see it done."

Mikael was in a spectacularly foul mood
His wife had been unfaithful resulting in a child that was not of his blood. Naturally he slaughtered the mutt who had his wife's affection along with the entire pack of beasts the cur belonged to
He returned to his village still drenched in their blood. Still gripping the heart of the beast his wife fancied so much
Yet as he arrived he smelled something particularly nauseating
The blood of his wife
Mikael certainly did not have good feelings towards Esther but he was still overcome with rage with someone touching what was his.
Approaching the scent he saw something that made him full of pure rage
The bastard he raised standing beside the dead body of his wife holding what assumed was her heart.
He will die for this
"Mikael" Niklaus greeted calmly but he could still see the fear in the coward's eyes
"What have you done boy" Mikael said through gritted teeth as he stared at his greatest disappointment
"Can you not tell? Or have you gone slow?" Niklaus mocks
Niklaus then throws the heart at Mikael's feet
"In any case you have not understood yet, I killed the one you call wife"
Mikael's hand went to the leather strap of belt pulling the only wood that could end the abomination
"What of my children? Did they abandon you once they saw how pathetic you truly were?!" Mikael snarled. Niklaus looked wounded as he gritted his teeth. "They fled once they saw Esther."
Mikael started to laugh as he looked at Niklaus maliciously. "It appears my children finally learned not to be close to the mongrel. "
Mikael began to approach Niklaus slowly
He was going to savor this
Even before Mikael knew him to be a bastard he always wanted to rid himself of the coward
'Though it seems he a small backbone to speak to me so freely' Mikael mused inwardly
Suddenly, before Mikael could finally rid himself of Niklaus he heard multiple heartbeats around him
He looked towards Niklaus who smiled coldly. Suddenly a blur speeds towards him, as he goes to stop it another one comes from behind and pushes him down to the ground. As he speeds to stand upright both his arms are being held by 2 sets of hands each. He looks to see Elijah and Rebekah holding on to his left hand and Finn and Kol holding on to his right hand. As strong as he was he could not easily break out of being detained by 4 originals.
Niklaus takes advantage of his surprise speeding over to Mikael's right hand breaking his wrist and tearing the stake from it.
"So what? You all ally with the bastard?!" Mikael shouts still trying to pull himself free.
"You cursed us" Elijah speaks still holding on to Mikael firmly, "All of this was retribution for your heinous acts"
Mikael prepares to speak as he is cut off by the bastard
"Enough chatter, goodbye forever Mikael" Klaus says as he drives the stake through his heart
He does not give them the benefit of a reaction as he bursts into flames and falls to the ground

'It's finally over' Niklaus thought as he stood over Mikael's body.
He was terrified when he came face to face with Mikael. Even if it was his scheme all he could think about were the times Mikael would beat him within an inch of his life for no reason at all.
The constant times he was called a coward or weak. There were times where Niklaus truly thought Mikael would kill him. Yet here he is, standing over his burnt corpse
What should he feel?
Happiness? Relief?
The only thing Niklaus Mikaelson currently feels is uncertainty, because in killing Mikael they truly got rid of everything that could bring their existence to an end. They are truly cursed to roam the ground for all eternity
What comes next?
Now that the monster he feared all his life was gone. What should he do?
He was truly aimless
He could feel the stares of all his siblings on him. Wondering if he would break down in tears or if he would just laugh, yet he could not bring himself to do either.
"What do we do now" He whispered so softly that his siblings almost didn't hear him.

She is truly happy for Nik. if she were to have it her way Mikael would've been dead long ago, yet Elijah stopped her.
'Nice to see he changed his opinion' Rebekah thought as she looked at Elijah who was still looking at Mikael's body.
'Something is off with Elijah' Rebekah mused inwardly as she looked at her big brother. Usually he would spend no time in consoling us and taking over the situation yet even as they stood over Mikael's body he still seems lifeless.
She would figure out what has happened to Elijah.
Of course being turned into these creatures took a toll on him but he was not nearly as bad as he is now.
Pulling her thoughts of Elijah aside she looks at Finn who instead of staring at Mikael is still staring at Niklaus.
She is not quite sure what to think of Finn. She thought of him as a mother's boy who could not resist to worship the ground she walked on. She always kept her distance from him due to the times she actually tried interacting with him, he turned her away in an instant.
'Now that Esther is dead, Finn seems to be more open to us being a family' Rebekah thought
Maybe it wasn't all a curse
Finally she looked at Kol who for once in his irksome existence was uncharacteristically solemn staring at Mikael's body
She knew Kol loved to hide his pain and grief behind that vexing mask of his.
Although Kol was never Mikael's main target he was always terrified of him. Especially since he loved magic more than the sword. Although he never told anyone, everyone knew that he was afraid of disappointing Mikael and ending up like Niklaus. Of course this is a huge burden lifted from his shoulders
"What do we do now?" Rebekah hears Niklaus whisper
What do they do? Surely it would be fun to roam around the ground and visit new places but would that not get stale after years?
Would existence not become a chore instead of living?
As she looks between her brothers the thoughts sink in.
They only have each other in this life.
No one else will ever learn the burdens of immortality.
They will always be together.
She will make sure of it.

The once vibrant village of the Mikaelsons was gone.
A single night after Mikael was disposed of, rid the Mikaelsons of whatever restraint they had left
The only thing that could be smelt was the stench of blood.
The river once clear was stained with red.
Bodies were scattered everywhere. The ground itself was red, there was not a soul left. The walls of the neighboring houses were splattered with marks. Yet despite all of of that, in the center of the bodies was a man, he looked terrifyingly composed. Like the carnage around him was nothing out of the ordinary. There he was walking through all of the dead without a care in the world. The oddness of this could not be ignored. In a place gone completely red he was the only outlier. He was clean. Only a single drop of blood could be seen on him.
Suddenly a voice breaks through the terrifying quiet. Niklaus appears, dragging an legless body with his left hand and gesturing to his cheek with his right hand. "Elijah! You missed a spot!" He says cheerfully.
Elijah is not amused.
He quickly begins wipe off the spot Niklaus gestured to. Sighing a breath of relief once he sees it's gone.
Once he is cleared from his existential crisis he finally gazes at Niklaus. His sheer brutally shocked even him. Niklaus was never one to be so cruel, yet it seems that the loss of his wolf and the death of Mikael pushed him over the edge.
Elijah does not find it in him to mind it.
After all they are all monsters.
"Niklaus." Elijah curtly addresses his brother
Niklaus rolls his eyes at Elijah. "Come now Elijah, what has you so sullen?" Elijah grits his teeth as he begins to think about Tatia once again. "Nothing that concerns you Niklaus." Elijah responds stoically. Deep down Elijah is slightly afraid of what Niklaus would say. After all there was a point in time were he too was courting Tatia
Niklaus rolls his eyes for what he thinks is the hundredth time. "Spare me the dramatics, you clearly want to speak. You seem to currently be in somewhat of a self-loathing period in time. Just speak, it should not be as bad as all of this nonsense." He gestures to the bodies scattered everywhere
After a moment of silence after Niklaus's declaration Elijah begins to speak again. "I murdered Tatia." He says sorrowfully still hating himself and preparing for the hatred his brother will surely respond with.
"Oh" Niklaus says
Oh?
Elijah can't wrap his head around it
Oh?
Niklaus loved this girl at one time no?
Oh?!
"Niklaus, I have just confessed to killing the woman who was the love of your life... and mine." Elijah says looking down at the ground. Hearing it aloud only intensified his guilt
"Elijah" Niklaus begins, causing Elijah to look up. "Yes I cared for Tatia at one point, but that was before we became what we are." Niklaus explained calmly.
Elijah couldn't wrap his head around it, out of everyone Niklaus changed the most. He would've followed Tatia around forever if it meant being near her. Yet once they turned into these beasts he's turned this remorseless? Elijah has never been one to care for human life. Mikael trained him to be like so, but Niklaus? He could not harm an animal, yet here he was just as brutal as him.
"How could you change so much?" Elijah whispered. Niklaus narrowed his eyes at him
"Elijah, when we were human love made sense. I was weak, small, and afraid. Desperate for even a hint of affection that Mikael denied me of."
Niklaus pauses as he gestures to the dead village. "Look around Elijah, we are no longer like that. What point is there to love, to care, to feel for those outside of us?"
He pauses to nudge a body with his foot.
"They are the small ones. There is nothing that could stop us. Why would we lower ourselves to feel something as small as love when we are so much grander than it?"

Creatures above everyone else?
"Tatia may have been your love" Niklaus starts again "Yes, you may have disposed of her, but learn from it Elijah! I do not believe I could convince you to forget about her and disregard her death but what I can do is tell you that you never have to feel this way again. You are above those pathetic feelings running around in your head. Learn from them so you never make the mistake to care for something lower than you ever again."
Elijah stayed silent as he processed all of what Niklaus said to him
What should he do?
What can he do?
Suddenly his shoulder is grabbed Klaus. Blood still on it dirtying him. "Brother, you think yourself of a monster do you not?" Klaus questions as Elijah looks down at the ground once again
He is a monster isn't he
"You are a monster" Klaus finally says causing Elijah's eyes to dart up
"I'm a monster as well, Kol, Rebekah, even Finn. We are all monsters, we did not have a choice the moment Mikael drove his sword through our hearts." Klaus says staring directly at Elijah
"Don't hide it, don't be repulsed by it. After all it is you. Embrace who you are. Embrace who are."
Klaus says softly as he backs away from Elijah.
"We are the Mikaelsons" Klaus exlaims opening his arms theatrically "So live, murder, do whatever it is you desire. After all we are above all else."
"We are Eternal"

Well thats the end of this chapter. Klaus is an arrogant little shit isnt he. Anyways I found the Mikael chasing them for a thousand years thing to be kinda weird. I know they were scared at him but at some point they should've realized it was a 4v1 (in cannon finn wasn't gonna do shit). I even looked into it to see if he was an enhanced original or something but nah. They were just too scared to go up against him.
Explaining the fight scene with mikael, this was my first time writing anything like that so I had no idea where to start also explaining them holding him I thought since they are turned during similar times even if mikael is trained he should not be able to escape 4 vampires holding him down. Especially since finn's there and in my version anyways hes a full on viking with him being trained just like Mikael. Anyways onto the whole Klaus monologue thing. This is an AU if people haven't gotten that already. The mikaelsons are extremely arrogant which leads them to be as crazy as they are now. After all they just killed the only threat to their existence and now they know they are truly immortal and nothing could stop them. Just keep that in mind cause it's not just klaus thats like that
