Chapter 27 - Episode 27: The President

The evening sun casts a warm glow over the Moretti's family house. Lily is lounging in the garden with Madam Clara and Rachel, snacking on fresh fruits and chatting about their day.

Madam Clara notices Lily's tired face and asks, "Lily, dear, how are you feeling? You're looking a bit pale."

Lily reassures her, "I'm fine, thank you. Just a bit tired."

Zoey chimes in, "I'm sure it's just the pregnancy. You're almost due, aren't you?"

Lily nods, "Yes, I am. Just a few more weeks to go."

Meanwhile, Leo walks in, looking visibly upset. He storms past Lily, who looks taken aback by his behavior.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Lily calls out, but Leo just keeps walking.

Madam Clara notices the tension and raises an eyebrow. "I wonder what's bothering him," she says to Rachel.

Zoey shrugs, "Maybe it's just work stress. He's been working late nights for weeks."

As the night wears on, Lily becomes increasingly anxious. She can't shake the feeling that she's done something to upset Leo.

Finally, at midnight, Lily can't take it anymore. She gets up and heads to the study, hoping to talk to Leo and clear the air.

But as soon as she walks in, Leo snaps at her. "What do you want, Lily? Can't you see I'm busy?" he growls.

Lily is taken aback by his tone. Tears well up in her eyes as she turns and runs out of the study.

Leo realizes his mistake and feels a pang of guilt. He gets up and follows Lily to their room, hoping to apologize and make things right.

But when he gets there, Lily gives him the cold shoulder. She's curled up in bed, her back to him, and refuses to talk to him.

Leo tries to apologize, but Lily just ignores him. He's left standing there, feeling frustrated and helpless.

The next morning, Lily wakes up still not talking to Leo. Madam Clara and Mirabel notice the tension and exchange worried glances.

"Is everything okay, Lily?" Madam Clara asks, concern etched on her face.

Lily just shrugs and heads to the kitchen to make breakfast.

Meanwhile, Antonio, Leo's father, calls him aside and asks if he shouted at Lily. Leo admits that he did, and Antonio warns him about the dangers of shouting at a pregnant woman.

"Pregnant women can be a loose lion when they're upset," Antonio says, shaking his head.

Leo looks sheepish, realizing his mistake. "I know, Dad. I'm sorry."

Antonio pats him on the back. "Just make sure you apologize and make things right. You don't want to upset Lily, especially not now."

Leo nods, determined to make things right with Lily.

As Leo heads to the office, he's still feeling guilty about his behavior the night before. He knows he needs to make things right with Lily, but he's not sure how.

When he arrives at the office, he's greeted by his employees, who are all busy at their desks. But as he walks into the conference room, where a meeting is already underway, his intense gaze sweeps across the room, making everyone nervous.

Diego, who's standing close to Leo, sweating profusely, quickly pulls out his phone and texts Lily. "Boss Lady, please, you have to save us," he whispers urgently into the phone. "Young Master Leo's got that look in his eye, and it's freaking everyone out."

Lily receives Diego's text and can't help but chuckle. She knows that Leo can be intimidating when he's in work mode.

She decides to come to the conference room to rescue her fiancé's employees. She knocks on the door, and Leo's cold voice answers, "Enter."

Lily chuckles and walks into the room, all eyes on her. The men in the room can't help but stare at her beauty, even though she's pregnant.

Leo's eyes narrow, and he roars, "Don't look at her!" The men quickly avert their gaze, looking guilty.

Lily smiles and walks over to Leo's side. "Hey, I brought you lunch," she says, setting a tray of food down on the table.

Leo looks at her, his expression softening slightly. "Babe, you shouldn't have come. You could have sent one of the maids. I don't want you to stress yourself out."

Lily smiles and rolls her eyes playfully. "I'm fine, Leo. I just wanted to make sure everything is okay here."

Diego, who's still standing next to Leo, lets out a sigh of relief. "Thanks, Boss Lady. You saved us from Young Master Leo's wrath."

Leo flashes Diego a cold look, making him shout, "Ah!" Diego takes a step back, looking intimidated.

Lily smiles and shakes her head, laughing. "Leo, don't scare them," she says, playfully rolling her eyes.

The rest of the staff looks on, still nervous from Leo's intense gaze. But with Lily by his side, the atmosphere in the room starts to relax.

Just then, Mr. Johnson, one of the department heads, speaks up. "Uh, Young Master Leo, I think we need to discuss the Smith account. There's been a development."

Leo's expression turns serious, and he nods. "Let's hear it," he says.

As Mr. Johnson starts to explain the situation, Lily listens intently, her eyes narrowing in concern. Diego, who's still standing next to Leo, leans over and whispers, "Boss Lady, I think we're in trouble."

Lily nods, her expression serious. "Let's listen to what Mr. Johnson has to say," she says.

As the meeting continues, the tension in the room begins to dissipate, replaced by the soft hum of conversation and the clinking of silverware on plates. But just as things are settling down, Rachel walks in, her eyes locked on Leo's, and whispers in his ear. Leo's expression turns serious, his jaw clenched, as he nods curtly. "Very well. I'll be right there."

He turns to Lily, his eyes scanning her face, and says, "Babe, I have to go. The president is here to see me." Lily's eyes widen, her eyebrows shooting up in surprise, as she sets her fork down on her plate. "Okay, go," she says, her voice measured, but her hands betraying a slight tremble.

Leo nods, his eyes lingering on hers for a moment, before he gives her a quick, reassuring kiss on the cheek. As he turns to leave, the room falls silent, all eyes on him. The weight of responsibility settles on his shoulders like a physical burden, his mind racing with possibilities.

Meanwhile, Lily watches him go, her eyes following the broad lines of his back as he disappears out the door. She feels a shiver run down her spine, a sense of foreboding settling in the pit of her stomach. What could the president possibly want with Leo? The question echoes in her mind, refusing to be silenced.

As she turns back to the table, she forces a smile, trying to reassure the staff, but her mind is already racing ahead, imagining scenarios, and worrying about the potential consequences.
