Chapter 25 - Chapter 24: Classes, Cravings, and Closer Bonds

Class Struggles and Accommodations 📝📖💤

Nova tried to keep up with her normal classes, but pregnancy had other plans. Morning sickness ambushed her without warning, fatigue settled into her bones like a stubborn shadow, and her cravings struck at the worst possible times. She barely made it through history before her stomach demanded fries dipped in whipped cream.

Alaric and Caroline stepped in quickly, offering accommodations—lighter workloads, rest breaks, and the option for remote assignments if things became too overwhelming. Caroline even made a list of "pregnancy-friendly" spaces on campus where Nova could rest in privacy.

Still, whispers echoed in the hallways. A couple of students muttered about "special treatment." Hope caught it instantly, her temper flashing as she rounded on them. "Say it again," she said, her voice low, dangerous. "And I'll make sure you regret it. No one gets to slut shame or shame my girlfriend—ever."

The culprits scattered quickly, and Hope turned back to Nova, who looked torn between gratitude and exasperation.

"I don't want special treatment," Nova insisted later, crossing her arms stubbornly as Hope helped her to their dorm. "I'm only four and a half months pregnant. I can handle this."

Hope sighed softly, brushing her thumb across Nova's cheek. "Needing help doesn't mean you're weak, baby. It means you're putting them first."

Nova pouted, crossing her arms tighter. "No I'm not."

Hope smiled, leaning close until their foreheads touched. "You're cute when you're stubborn. But you don't have to fight me on this. I've got you."

Watching them from the hallway, Alaric smiled to himself. For all the chaos surrounding the Mikaelsons, he'd never seen Hope this grounded—or this happy.

Cravings Chaos 🤢🥒🍫

It started with pickles dipped in chocolate. Then came strawberries with hot sauce. And later—mashed potatoes topped with whipped cream. Nova's cravings were as unpredictable as they were alarming.

Hope didn't flinch. She fetched whatever combination Nova wanted, even taste-testing a few to make her laugh. "Okay, nope—nope, never again," Hope choked after trying the strawberry-hot sauce mix, which sent Nova into giggles.

Soon it became a running joke. Lizzie and Josie dubbed Hope the "official snack fetcher," while Penelope started keeping score of the strangest cravings. "Pickles and brownies is still winning," she said dryly.

But when Nova leaned into Hope after finishing one of her odd concoctions, Hope only kissed her temple and whispered, "I wouldn't trade this for anything."

Girls' Day Aftermath / Family Bonding 🛍️👭💞

After the whirlwind shopping trip, Nova found herself pulled deeper into Hope's family. Hayley offered gentle advice about motherhood, Rebekah teased her about style choices, and Freya charmed protective runes onto a bracelet she gifted her. Keelin made her laugh with medical horror stories, while Davina and Cami quietly slipped her extra snacks and thoughtful looks.

The men weren't much different. Klaus tested her patience with dramatic flair, Kol teased her endlessly, and even Elijah, though polite, made her a little nervous. Marcel cracked jokes and offered a brotherly kind of reassurance. Through it all, Hope hovered protectively, eyes narrowing whenever one of them pushed too far. "Be nice," she warned them more than once, her tone making clear that Nova was strictly off-limits for Mikaelson antics.

And it wasn't just the Mikaelsons—members of the Beacon Hills crew also joined in the mix. Stiles and Kol tried to out-snark each other, their banter rapid-fire and sarcastic until even Klaus rolled his eyes.

"Wow, your family drama makes Beacon Hills look like Sesame Street," Stiles quipped.

"Please," Kol fired back with a smirk, "I'd last five minutes in your town before I took over completely."

Lydia and Rebekah compared fashion tastes with sharp precision, occasionally dragging Hayley into the debate. "Animal print is timeless if done right," Lydia argued. Rebekah smirked, "Darling, it's only timeless on me." Hayley groaned, "You're both impossible."

Derek and Elijah stood off to the side, sharing quiet, thoughtful commentary—two brooding figures oddly comfortable in silence together. Elijah inclined his head. "You carry yourself with discipline." Derek gave the barest nod. "You too." It was as close to friendship as either seemed capable of.

Isaac listened with wide-eyed fascination to Klaus's grand tales of conquest and tragedy, earning occasional asides of encouragement from Cami. "You really fought an army of witches?" Isaac asked, incredulous. Klaus smirked, "Fought and won, boy. Don't look so shocked."

Meanwhile, Malia, Ethan, and Aiden teamed up with Marcel, firing blunt quips and sarcastic remarks until the whole group was laughing. "So let me get this straight," Malia said flatly. "You all murder, scheme, and drink blood for fun—and somehow we're the messed up ones?" Marcel chuckled, "She's not wrong." Ethan added with a grin, "At least we keep our drama local." Aiden nodded, "Yeah, one town at a time." The laughter rolled through the room, breaking any lingering tension.

The blend of families was chaotic, loud, and a little overwhelming, but full of warmth.

To Nova, it was overwhelming but sweet—she wasn't just with Hope, she was becoming part of the family. The realization settled in her chest like warmth she never thought she'd deserve.

Intimate Moment – Home Together 🛋️💞🌙

That evening back at the school, Nova practically melted into Hope's arms the moment they got to their dorm. Hope knelt to slip off her shoes, pressed a kiss to her ankle, then guided her onto the bed.

"World's hottest caretaker," Nova teased breathlessly, watching Hope kneel at her feet.

Hope smirked. "I'll take the title." She moved to massage Nova's feet, slow and gentle, coaxing soft sighs from her lips. "You deserve it."

Nova looked at her with tears brimming. "I never thought I'd feel this safe. This loved."

Hope leaned in close, kissing the tears away. "Then I'll just have to prove it every day."

They curled together under the covers, Nova's head resting on Hope's chest while Hope hummed softly. For a while, there was only peace—until Nova tilted her head up with a mischievous grin. "So… maybe I'm not that tired."

What followed was laughter, playful touches, and stolen kisses—Nova getting frisky despite her exhaustion. Hope was gentle, her every caress and movement careful, not wanting to hurt Nova or the babies. From Nova's perspective, the tenderness left her feeling safe and full in a way she hadn't known she craved. Her heart swelled at the thought that Hope could make her laugh, blush, and cry all at once. Their giggles carried through the room, nearly giving them away when footsteps passed by the door.

In the end, their bodies moved together in slow, careful rhythm—Hope thrusting gently, mindful not to hurt Nova or the babies, and Nova gasping softly at the fullness she felt. They shifted, Hope easing Nova onto her side and slipping behind her, one arm wrapped protectively around her waist as she entered her from behind. Nova's back arched, cheeks flushed, her fingers clutching the sheets while Hope's gentle rhythm rocked through her. Hope nuzzled against her neck, awed at the sight of her girlfriend and soon‑to‑be mother of her children, completely bare and moving in sync with her. The passion built until they both cried out, tumbling over the edge together. Nova collapsed breathlessly onto Hope's chest, still connected, warmth and humor balancing the fire between them, with Hope's tenderness making Nova feel utterly cherished—and Nova realizing she had never felt so loved or protected—not even when she was with Allison.

As the laughter faded, Nova nestled against Hope's chest, listening to her heartbeat steady and strong beneath her ear. Her eyelids grew heavy, but her thoughts lingered on how far they'd come—from wary strangers to this fragile, fierce love. Wrapped safely in Hope's arms, she drifted off to sleep, comforted by the certainty that whatever storms lay ahead, she would never face them alone.

Hope, however, stayed awake a little longer, gazing down at Nova with a tenderness that made her chest ache. She brushed stray strands of hair from Nova's face and pressed a protective kiss to her forehead. In the quiet, she vowed silently to shield Nova and their twins from every danger, no matter the cost. Only when she felt Nova's steady breathing against her did Hope finally let her own eyes close, still holding her close as if she could keep the whole world at bay.

Closing Beat: Secret Gender Reveal Prep 🎂🎉💖

The buzz of the shopping trip and family bonding still lingered when Lizzie and Lydia swooped in, armed with clipboards and color palettes. They were on a mission, and the mission was spectacle. Ribbons, balloons, confetti cannons—nothing was off limits in their brainstorming. Josie added gentle practicality, suggesting enchantments that would make the reveal seamless. Malia and Penelope were gleefully adding to the chaos with their own outrageous ideas, while Rebekah leaned in beside Lizzie and Lydia, offering sharp fashion-forward opinions to refine the plans.

Nova, still glowing from the intimacy and safety she felt with Hope, watched the chaos with a mixture of amusement and nerves. She hadn't known this kind of joy before—not even with Allison—and part of her heart ached at how different, how fuller, this love was. She wasn't just cherished; she was part of something bigger, a family that wanted her and her babies.

Hope caught her gaze from across the room and mouthed, "Just act surprised." The possessive warmth in her eyes told Nova she wasn't just a participant in someone else's plan—she was Hope's everything.

Nova brushed her hands over her belly and smiled softly. "For them? Worth it."

And in that moment, surrounded by chaos, laughter, and plans of pink and blue, it felt like life had finally clicked into place.
