Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Chapter 16: (Fail to remember )

After returning to her room with the help of her annoying doctor, Celestia lay comfortably on her bed. She felt relieved, like she had been reborn, but still blind.

"Now, you can rest, Celestia. You got what you wanted - to go outside," Doctor Kheo said as she lay down.

She was back in her room, surrounded by deafening silence and no fragrant breeze.

"Okay," she replied curtly.

"Let's check your condition now, okay? So I can report on your progress," Doctor Kheo said.

"Okay," Celestia responded in a cold tone.

Just as they were about to start discussing her condition, her mother, friend, and supposed boyfriend arrived.

"Doctor Kheo, how's Celestia doing?" her mother asked.

"We're just about to start checking her condition. And thank you for coming, so I can brief you on what to do this for her," Doctor Kheo replied.

"Okay, go ahead," Celestia's mother said.

Here is the translation:

But before they could start discussing her condition, her mother arrived along with her friend and supposed boyfriend.

"Doctor Kheo, how's Celestia?" her mother asked.

"We're just about to start checking her condition. And thank you for coming, so I can brief you on what to do for her," Doctor Kheo replied.

"Okay, go ahead," Celestia's mother said.

"Let's get straight to it, Celestia. Do you feel any headaches?" Doctor Kheo asked, turning his attention to her.

"Just occasionally, but it's not too bad, just a normal headache," Celestia replied.

"Let's go through some tests to assess your memory and cognitive function. Can you tell me your name, age, and what you remember about your life before the accident?" Doctor Kheo said.

"My name is Celestia, I'm 19 years old. As for what happened before the accident, honestly, I still don't remember anything," she replied.

Doctor Kheo nodded, seemingly unsurprised. "The trauma from the accident has affected your brain's ability to retrieve memories. It's not uncommon for people to experience memory loss after a head injury. We'll continue to work with you to try and stimulate your memory and help you regain your lost memories."

Celestia didn't respond, instead turning away, not wanting to dwell on it. Doctor Kheo then turned to her mother and said, "I want to be honest with you, Mrs. Montreal, the road to recovery is going to be long, and there's no guarantee that Celestia will regain all of her memories. However, we're committed to doing everything we can to support her and help her recover as much as possible."

Celestia wasn't fazed by the doctor's words, knowing she was going through a tougher time with her memory loss. Sometimes she even wondered if she'd be better off without her memories.

"Doctor, do whatever it takes. Even if it costs a lot, just help my daughter get her memories back," her worried mother said.

"I promise, and actually, you don't have to worry about the bill here at the hospital. I'll take care of it. What's important is that you stay by her side and keep her from getting stressed about things that don't matter," Doctor Kheo replied with a reassuring smile.

"Oh, Doctor Kheo, I feel bad about this. But I owe you one, thank you so much," her mother said gratefully.

"No need to thank me, Mrs. Montreal. I'll get going now," Doctor Kheo said with a respectful bow.

Celestia sensed that Doctor Kheo had left the room. She was struggling to cope with her situation, but she wanted to hide it from her mother to avoid worrying her.

"You heard what the doctor said, he's taking care of the bill. He's really something, isn't he?" JC said with a tone of annoyance.

"What are you talking about, JC? He just wants to help," Celestia replied, still lying on her bed.

"He's got a thing for you, that's what I'm saying," JC said, still sounding irritated.

"You're being ridiculous, JC. Why would you assume something like that? It's better if you just keep quiet if you don't have anything nice to say, you might stress Celestia out," Celestia's mother snapped.

"Yeah, JC, Tita's right. Maybe you should just shut up if you can't say anything good. You might stress Celestia out," Lala chiming in.

"Stress? I'm stressed every day in this place, especially when I can't even see the sunlight or watch birds fly in the sky. Who wouldn't be stressed in this situation? Besides the memory loss, I'm blind. These are the things that are eating away at me, constantly wondering why this is what I've been given," Celestia thought to herself, her inner monologue filled with frustration and sadness.

The thoughts in her mind were consuming her, and she couldn't help but wonder why she had been given this fate when there were so many other ways things could have turned out. She noticed that the room had fallen silent, with no one saying a word, and the deafening quietness was depressing her.

How would she cope with this situation for a long time while staying in the hospital if things remained like this?

"Celestia, do you want to take a walk?" Lala asked, breaking the silence.

"Sorry, but I'm tired," Celestia replied in a cold tone.

"Okay, what do you want? Maybe we can talk about old times to help you remember something?" Lala suggested, and Celestia felt her sit on her foot.

"No, thanks," Celestia replied, still in a cold tone.

"Okay, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me," Lala said, gently massaging Celestia's feet.

"Hmm," Celestia responded briefly.

Lala's POV:

"Let's go outside, JC," Lala said to JC, who nodded and stood up to leave Celestia's room.

Once they were outside, Lala pulled JC away from Celestia's room so they wouldn't be overheard.

"What do you think you're doing?" Lala scolded JC.

"I'm just telling the truth. It's obvious that Doctor Kheo has feelings for her," JC replied.

"That's not the point. Why are you saying this in front of Celestia's mother? You're being too obvious, JC. And when was the last time you told Celestia the truth?" Lala snapped.

"When was the last time you told your friend the truth?" JC retorted, walking closer to Lala, who backed away and leaned against the wall.

"I'm only keeping secrets about us, but I'm honest with her about everything else. So don't compare yourself to me," Lala said, pushing JC away.

"You're just pretending to be innocent, Lala. We're no different. If Celestia finds out about us, all your honesty won't matter. The guy she loves was loved and hidden by her own friend. Is that right, Lala?" JC said with a sly smile.

"Shut up!" Lala hissed.

JC chuckled softly, which worried Lala. She knew JC could use this against her at any moment. Lala regretted what had happened, but it might not be enough to make amends with Celestia for her huge mistake.

Everything is a big mess.
