Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Rue'an looking entirely too pleased with himself. Looked down at me. "Now then. Luhva. Since we can understand one another. Let's get down to it." His tail swooshed behind him.

"From this moment on. You shall be my mate!" He said proud.

I stood. Instantly. "What?! Why would I do that?"

He gave me look, as if I was the crazy one. "I found you. Shared my warmth. Gave you my bed. It's only fair"

I blinked once, then twice. "So, finding someone, and nursing them, gives you claiming rights?"

He nodded. Ears perked up proud.

"Yeah..no." I turned to walk. Just for my arm to be caught. He was now close. His body close to mine.

"Come. Don't be like that..." He pouted. Ears low. "Your fever was so high..I kept you alive. Come now my Luhva.. please" he nuzzled close.

I flinched, but then I let it be. I let him nuzzle me. He did save me, but a mate. Really? Why that.?

I moved my hand to pat his head. "Is there a reason why I have to be a mate? Why can't I just repay you with...I don't know.. housework"

I looked at me. Then smiled. A wolfy grin. "Because Luhva, you are pretty, and unique. I've never seen anyone like you. I wish to...make you mine before others decide to claim you."

"I'm unique? You're the one with ears and a tail" I stated bluntly.

He took a step back at those words. Then pointed. "No. You are the unique one for not having these..." He tilted his head, ears twitching. "Plus. Your hair his the color of honey, and your eyes the shade of peony. You are the rare one." He spoke as if that was a fact.

But that just made me more confused, but before I could speak. He spoke more.

"Not just that, but I protected you when I could have easily claimed." He stalked closer. "I held back quite a bit My Luhva..others wouldn't have led you to breakfast." His hand grazed mine. "So. My mate. That is what you are."

I wanted to fight back. To tell him to fuck off, but something told me not to. This wasn't something I should fight. Just let it be, but that didn't mean I couldn't ask questions.

"What do you mean, you held back?" I asked. "Are you saying that this world is just full of savage beasts?"

Another smirk. Then he leaned in close. His breath on my ear. "That's exactly what I'm saying My Luhva." His voice was low. Velvet. It sent a shiver down my spine.

His hands trailed down my sides. Resting on my hips. "I assure you My Luhva. I have been kind. Gentlemen compared to most." He pulled back a bit, so he could look at my full experience.

"So...My Luhva..by my mate. Or.." his expression darkened.

"I'll just throw you to the other wolves."
