Chapter 113 - Chapter 113: Anger Shell, Activate!

Huge welcome and thank you to our new Patron: Michael Buchoff!

------------------------------------------------------

"Rio..."

Feeling the powerful aura coursing through its body, Riolu instinctively clenched its fist tightly.

Eevee's new move seems terrifyingly powerful!

But with this borrowed strength, facing that big guy above...

We should be able to win!

After punching and shattering a boulder hurled by Klawf, Riolu shook its wrist, looking completely at ease.

Next, all it needed to do was figure out how to get close and deliver a punch to that giant crab!

Seeing its surprise attack fail, Klawf quickly realized the current situation.

These two humans clearly came for it...

And cunningly drove away its minions while it was napping, forcing it to face them alone.

As a Rock-type Pokémon, it excels at throwing rocks from a distance to irritate opponents. Many challengers had been defeated by the combined Rock Slide attacks of Klawfs.

Archers, fire arrows!

Without these skills, it wouldn't have been able to occupy that cave filled with magical herbs for so long. (NOT the Herba Mystica)

Now, its advantage seems a bit awkward.

Several consecutive Rock Slides and Rock Tombs failed to hit their target. Watching the Riolu with a terrifying aura slowly approaching, the now isolated Klawf started to panic.

But if it just gives up this valuable territory, it refuses to accept it!

While the Titan Klawf was contemplating whether to retreat, Aiden silently observed it.

[Klawf (♀) (Special Individual)]

[Type: Rock]

[Ability: Anger Shell]

[Moves: Clamp, Rock Smash, Block, Rock Tomb, Rock Slide...]

Just like in the game, it has the Anger Shell ability.

Pokémon with this ability, when their HP is low, will abandon defense due to anger, greatly enhancing their offensive capabilities.

If possible, taking it down in one go without giving Klawf a chance to counterattack would be best.

Both Riolu and Pawmo are Fighting-types, which strongly counter Rock-type Klawf. The challenge was to find a way to get close for the fatal blow.

"Let's go, Riolu!"

After Aiden spoke, Riolu immediately understood, pushed off forcefully with its foot, and charged towards Klawf.

"We need to follow up, Pawmo!"

Nemona followed closely, directing Pawmo to join the charge.

"Ruu!"

As it ran, Riolu seemed to be muttering something, occasionally glancing at Pawmo.

A bold idea immediately appeared in Aiden's mind—

Is Riolu giving instructions?

As everyone knows, Riolu has a nickname, "Coach Riolu."

Because it is the only Pokémon that can learn the move "Coaching," which boosts both the attack and defense of teammates by one stage, and possesses the mischievous Prankster Ability that gives status moves priority.

If there were a spiritual guide Coach Riolu leading the charge in a team battle, wouldn't all their Pokémon would probably rush forward eagerly?

Lead the brothers once more, Coach Riolu!

With Riolu's buff, Pawmo and Riolu fearlessly faced the flying debris, quickly closing in on the opponent.

"Riolu, use Rock Smash continuously!"

Having created some distance, Aiden could only shout commands.

Klawf was genuinely panicked because it realized its speed couldn't keep up with these two...

Generally speaking, Rock-type Pokémon have very high armor, but correspondingly, they also have an obvious weakness.

Slow speed.

Under trainer conditions, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

But obviously, there isn't a wild Psychic helper to cast Trick Room for Klawf.

Of course, its speed isn't particularly slow among Rock-type Pokémon.

It's just temporarily a bit overwhelmed compared to these two eager attackers.

Riolu and Pawmo delivered a combination attack; the bulky Titan Klawf had no ability to dodge.

After being repeatedly struck by unfair group attacks, its anger began to build.

If this tiger doesn't show their fangs, you really think I'm a disabled crab?

I'm pissed!

After being hit again by Riolu's Rock Smash, some of Klawf's thick shell suddenly fell off due to the attack.

At the same time, its gaze became increasingly fierce, as if truly entering a serious form.

Anger Shell, activate!

Seeing the boss enter phase two, Aiden couldn't help but smile.

This ability seems powerful, but knowing its effect allows for some tricks to limit the opponent beforehand.

For example, Rock Smash that Riolu had been using continuously...

Rock Smash, a common technical move for Fighting-types, sometimes subtly weakens the opponent's defense through clever attacks.

Adding the layer of shell shed by the Anger Shell ability, the Klawf is probably as fragile as paper now.

"Riolu, use Brick Break!"

Aiden spoke again, preparing to end this wild battle in one go.

"Lu!"

As Klawf was extremely angry due to the attack, Riolu's next punch was already thrown.

Boom—

The powerful force instantly penetrated its almost non-existent thin shell, knocking Klawf to the ground, nearly rolling its eyes.

Did this little guy hold back during the previous attack???

It originally planned to take the opportunity to retreat to the cave, eat some magical herbs to recover stamina, and return for a rematch.

But now it seems...

Pretending to be dead in anger earlier might have been better!

If it gets hit again, will it be able to withstand it?

After completing its thoughts in milliseconds, Klawf decisively chose to play dead, flipping its belly up and fainting.

Generally, as long as it runs out of stamina, these naïve Pokémon captured by trainers will stop, ensuring its safety.

"Lu?"

Riolu's serious punch was about to strike, but the opponent collapsed at this moment, causing it to stop mid-air.

But...

That punch shouldn't have the power to KO the opponent in one hit.

Riolu frowned, looked at the unconscious Klawf, and quickly discovered the blind spot.

Shouldn't crabs foam at the mouth when they lose consciousness?

So that's it, trying to feign weakness and make a fatal counterattack when I let my guard down?

After understanding the opponent's strategy, Riolu didn't hesitate anymore.

"Rio!"

Another punch was thrown.

This time, the still-pretending Klawf was completely unprepared; one punch made it foam at the mouth, legs up in the air.

Witnessing such a bloody scene, Aiden couldn't help but twitch his lips.

Then, he gave a thumbs-up to Riolu in the distance.

No wonder it's a Pokémon with a Careful nature, learning to double tap without him teaching it, its combat talent is indeed outrageous!

With a punch like that, Klawf probably won't have a third phase...
