Border of the Land of Rain – Konoha Shinobi Encampment
Outside the tent, a light rain fell without end. The dampness in the air was heavy and uncomfortable.
"Hey, hey, little Uchiha brat… studying medicine won't save the Shinobi World."
Inside the command tent, Tsunade — the logistics commander of the Konoha forces on the Rain Country front — looked at him with a rare smirk under her otherwise valiant expression.
Uchiha Ye, a boy still wearing his Konoha forehead protector with a youthful face, stood firm and resolute.
"Captain Tsunade, I'm doing this for Konoha — for the Will of Fire!"
He spoke with unwavering conviction, but to Tsunade, his words only proved one thing: typical Uchiha — so damn stubborn.
Another brat brainwashed by the Will of Fire.
Uchiha Ye had graduated alongside Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina — top of his class, one of the top three — and had been assigned under Tsunade's command due to the Second Great Ninja War.
"Yeah, yeah, you obsessive little Uchiha freak. Since you're doing it for Konoha, how's the logistics report coming along? And how's your Sage Palm Technique training going?"
Tsunade teased him, amused. The young Uchiha's face flashed with a hint of embarrassment, and his voice grew softer.
"Captain Tsunade… I haven't finished mastering the technique yet. But the logistics report is complete."
Uchiha Ye, handsome and earnest, looked every bit the dedicated support shinobi, diligently compiling Konoha's wartime supply data.
Tsunade couldn't help but smile.
Sure, the kid wasn't that strong in battle… but when it came to logistics, he was impressively competent.
She had practically dumped all the back-end work on him. All she had to do was skim the final report. He'd cut her workload in half — no joke.
Still, behind that rare moment of peace, a heavy pressure lingered in her chest.
The situation on the front isn't looking good.
As she glanced through the documents, her peripheral vision landed once again on the young Uchiha. So this is what graduating top of the written exams gets you. Sharp mind, for sure.
But while he looked like just another passionate believer in the Will of Fire, inside, Uchiha Ye was sneering.
The greatest hunters often appear as prey.
"Captain Tsunade, there's one more thing."
After handing off the logistics report, Uchiha Ye hesitated, visibly unsure of himself.
At this point, Tsunade — young and radiant in her prime — eyed him with curiosity, a playful smile tugging at her lips.
"What is it, brat? If you behave yourself, this captain will make sure you live through the war."
Staring at her golden twin headlights (as he mentally called them), Uchiha Ye put on a conflicted look, then clenched his teeth and uttered a single name:
"Clan Elder."
In an instant, Tsunade's smile froze. Uchiha Ye, acting like he was bracing himself, continued in a serious tone:
"This matter concerns the Uchiha Clan Elder."
There was only one such elder in the Uchiha clan: Elder Uchiha Setsuna — a name even Masashi Kishimoto had recorded in canon.
A radical who inherited Madara Uchiha's ideology. During the Second Hokage's rule, he stirred up rebellion among his clan, eventually getting arrested by the ANBU and imprisoned.
Had the Second Hokage not died so suddenly and the war not broken out, forcing the village to rely on Uchiha strength, that old man would never have seen the light of day.
"You little brat…"
Tsunade's expression grew serious.
"That man is dangerous. You do understand that, right?"
But Uchiha Ye nodded firmly.
"Captain Tsunade, I understand. But the Elder secretly gave me this scroll. He said it concerns the survival of the clan… and that I must deliver it to you."
As he spoke, he pulled a green scroll from his ninja pouch and offered it with both hands.
"For the good of the village — if there's a problem with this scroll, I, Uchiha Ye, a Genin of Konoha, will take full responsibility."
At that moment, he looked every bit the loyal, brainwashed believer in the Will of Fire.
Tsunade studied him. The kid's been under my watch for over a year. Sure, he's sharp, but his loyalty to the village reminds me of my little brother. At least he's consistent.
"…Alright."
She took the scroll.
Uchiha Ye bowed his head — but his eyes flashed with a sharp, calculating glint.
It's been twelve years since I came into this world.
Despite the Uchiha name being hated and isolated, it was still a noble clan, one of the founding pillars of Konoha.
Senju had already produced two Hokage. Wasn't it about time for an Uchiha?
And yet, the Uchiha had fallen so far they were worse off than the dog-loving Inuzuka clan.
Dammit!
They were ostracized and eventually massacred. If the same thing happens now that he's here… then what was the point of being reincarnated at all?
In his past life, he'd been a sales champion for three years running in Southeast Asia, leading the Japanese market.
There's no way he'd tolerate this kind of humiliation now.
Especially not when he held this kind of world-shaking power — in a world so ripe for the taking.
Suddenly—
"What the hell is this?!"
Tsunade had opened the scroll, and her face darkened instantly. Her expression turned grim… and then furious as she glared up at him.
The kid she'd started to like just brought her something truly vile.
"Captain Tsunade!"
But faced with her wrath, Uchiha Ye bowed deeply again, his voice filled with determination.
"Uchiha Ye of Konoha is willing to accept any punishment!"
Tsunade took a deep breath. Her anger was intense, but she suppressed it quickly, shifting into a cold, composed state.
She wasn't just some muscle-headed brawler. Tsunade would become the Fifth Hokage one day. She knew how to think.
"You little brat… aren't you curious what this scroll says?"
Her tone was biting now, any trace of her earlier friendliness gone.
Uchiha Ye nodded seriously, took back the scroll, and began reading.
His expression changed drastically.
And then—
He shot up, staring at Tsunade with urgency.
"Captain Tsunade! You can't believe what this scroll says!"
"That old bastard, Setsuna, is trying to sow discord between you and the village! He's a traitor who refuses to give up!"
His face was full of righteous fury, like he was ready to kill the old man on the spot.
Tsunade frowned. From his reaction, it really did seem like he was being used.
Thinking about it… Yeah, that makes sense.
A brainwashed Will-of-Fire idiot — no one would suspect him of being a messenger.
That old bastard probably chose him because of that.
But still—
"Listen up, brat. No matter what's written in this scroll, you are not to breathe a word of it to anyone. Got it?"
Her eyes narrowed in threat. But Uchiha Ye only looked sad and indignant, holding back anger, and nodded solemnly.
"I understand, Captain Tsunade. With the world at war, we can't let anything shake the village."
She studied his face and finally nodded to herself. Yeah. Looks like the kid really was being used.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Ye kept up his frustrated act, but inside…
Whew. That was close.
Let's just… let the bullet fly for a while.
Time to give Konoha a nice little gift.
