I sat down in a chair,2 man wearing dark glasses and identical questions sat down in front of me,one of them had a notebook,and then i heard him say "what happened in the night of 13th may", i couldnt speak for a second,flashbacks begin coming back, that's when he repeated in cold tone the kind of voice that send shivers inside your head, he said " start from the beginning private", again i was speechless, i didnt know what to say, but that's when he repeated this time with anger in his voice " we can do this the easy way or the hard way", thats when i realized these guys are different from the regular army interrogators,i opened my mouth and began talking about the incident it felt like i was back there " it was the night of 13th may a regular friday, i was stationed with easy company in █████ , i was part of the third mechanized infantry squad, we received orders that night from █████;.
We were given orders to capture a german fortified hospital we rolled out with 5 M4 shermans, i remember it was about 10 pm when we left base, our mission was to capture the hospital before daylight, i was riding in the 5th sherman with my squad, Staff sgt. █████ and Sgt. █████ , and Cpl. █████ with PFC. █████ and PFC. █████, we thought it was an easy task after all this was a month before the end of war we didnt take this mission seriously, I remember we were joking and talking about what will do after the end of war driving through this tiny road paved with dirt it was total darkness we could only see whats in front of us we passed by couple patrols and checkpoints, we were in the middle of germany, █████ .
Some of the boys, me included took naps after all we knew the road was clear of germans, i dont know how long i took that nap but i remember waking up to the sound of my squad leader "DISMOUNT", i opened my eyes quickly grabbed my rifle and jumped out of the tank just ot see a truck upside down blocking the way, all soldiers dismounted some covering each other we were all curious about the slash marks in the truck hull, they didnt look like a human could do it, they were big, but thats when we heard a deafening sound, i felt like my ears were about to explode i covered it with my hands, thats when all hell broke loose, the sound stopped but i could still hear ringing in my ears, soldiers shouted " what the hell was that", we soon will find out just seconds after the sound, we didnt even have time to regroup thats when something landed grabbed the tank in lead behind us, i saw it yank it like it was nothing, most soldiers didnt even notice it, we only heard the scream of the machine gunner on top of tank as that thing took tank away, one of the soldiers threw a handflare, it illuminated the area but thats when we saw them 10 or maybe 20 they looked like birds or planes i didnt know, they were flying above us circling us like preys, everyone opened fire on them tank machine gunners did too but that just made them angry, they dived towards us one landing on a soldiers near me it crushed him completely thats when i saw it clearly, black large wings a human like face with horns, it just crushed a soldier then others started firing at it but it just didnt get even effected by bullets, it grabbed another soldier andd ate his head, it had biç teeth feeled with blood, chaos was happening i stood there shocked, i watched as these things dived towards soldiers crushing them and ripping their heads apart, one by one we were getting murdered brutally, thats when everyone started running towards tanks as shermans were trying to drive away, i heard screams and gunfire behind me but i didnt look i just kept running the first tank i was about to reach it when one of these creatures yanked it then it threw it at me, i laid down praying it wont hit me it come crashing towards me hitting the floor just inches away from me then bounced up and hit a tree exploding in flames, i got up and ran towards the next tank, i looked behind and saw soldiers getting their heads ripped apart one of the things yanked my squad leader and it flew him up then 4 other creatures they grabbed his legs and arms and head and yanked it at same time till he was ripped apart nothing left of him, my ears were still ringing, all i could hear was muffled screams and gunsound,, the crew of tanks dismounted and they started running away but i saw how they got yanked all at same time by 3 creatures, i could hear their screams, the other tanks they were firing at the creatures, blue on blue didnt exist anymore everyone were fucking emptying their guns at the creatures not caring if it hit a fellow soldiers, tanks loaded HE rounds and fired at these things, but it was no use, i saw a creature crush a tank in half with my own eyes, i just started crawling towards the empty tank and hid under it, the remaining tanks got yanked away, soldiers were dying left and right, everyone stopped firing and started running towards the tank i was hiding under as i saw some get crushed by the creatures, their blood covered my face, as i hid there in silence, one of the soldiers fell on ground next to me, he looked at me pleading to save him, but i knew that would just expose my position, so i closed my eyes and covered my ears, i could still hear screams and explosions,i dont know how long i stayed hiding but then it was all silence no screams no gunsounds, nothing i crawled out to see the sun shining, the smell was horrible, limbs and body remains were all over the place, i even saw a brain of soldier, his head was all crushed, god that was horrible, pools of blood filled the area, it was disgusting the sight was horrible, my vision was in complete mess, it felt like i was gonna black out i just walked towards a nearby tree trying not to vomit and stay awake but thats when i reached it i fell to the ground and then it was just blackout just to wake up to a medic inspecting me near the tree, he yelled WE GOT A LIVE ONE HERE, he helped me get up as i saw the area now filled with medics and soldiers, they were covering the bodies, i could still see the remains and blood scattered and then i blackout again", i looked at the other men as he finished writing in his notepad then i just blacked out from the memorie and woke up the next day in jail, to whoever reading this i hope that one day the truth come out.
The soldier put down the diary as he looked at the prison corpse,a single tear dropped from his eye and said "they could avoided it they could", but then another soldier pat his shoulder and said " we have to leave before it get dark", he took the diary and hid it then they got up and made their way towards the exit, looking around, the prison lookd like hell, skeletons everywhere, walls destroyed they got up in a small jeep and drove away.
