Chapter 91 - New Character Card

Unfortunately, everyone, chapter 91 was removed from the raw for some reason and the author has not reposted it. I've tried to find it on other sites, but haven't had any luck. Sadly, we'll have to skip chapter 91.

"By the way, Kaito."

"What is it?"

Looking up, Kaito, who was in the middle of eating, met Lumine's gaze. It was obvious that Lumine had something to say to him.

"It couldn't be about yesterday's four hundred thousand Mora reward, could it..."

Without much thought, Kaito guessed that this was probably what she wanted to talk about.

"It's about yesterday's commission. Thank you."

Appearing to have chosen her words carefully, Lumine looked at Kaito and spoke slowly.

In truth, she wanted to ask directly if he was the one who had posted the commission worth four hundred thousand Mora. Although she felt there was a high probability he was the one who'd posted it, she also knew he would deny it, so she simply thanked him instead.

"Don't mention it. It's not like I'm short on Mora."

Waving his hand, Kaito insisted that Lumine shouldn't stand on ceremony.

After all, Lumine had helped him complete his task, so it was only natural for her to get the four hundred thousand Mora reward. He just couldn't mention anything about the task itself.

"Yeah, yeah! How could someone as handsome as Kaito ever be short on Mora?"

At that moment, Paimon was back to flattering Kaito.

Paimon, that little flatterer...

Watching Paimon's fawning expression, Lumine sighed silently.

Then, she suddenly remembered something she wanted to ask Kaito. "Speaking of which, Kaito, are you heading to Liyue next?"

After checking her map of Teyvat, Lumine realized that Liyue was indeed quite close to Mondstadt, making it a good destination for the next leg of her journey.

"That's right. Liyue is pretty close to Mondstadt."

After finishing the food in his mouth, Kaito nodded.

Now that things in Mondstadt were more or less settled, he really did need to find a time to head to Liyue. But as for when exactly, he hadn't decided yet.

"So, Kaito, when are you planning to go to Liyue?" Lumine asked again.

She actually wanted to travel to Liyue together with Kaito, but she was too shy to say it directly. So, she planned to ask a few questions first and then, depending on the situation, decide whether to voice her true thoughts.

Ideally, Kaito would be the one to invite her to Liyue, which would save her the embarrassment.

"Yeah, Kaito, when are you going to that country called Liyue? Remember to take us with you when you go!"

While Lumine was still waiting for Kaito's answer, Paimon had already jumped in and demanded they be taken along.

No matter what, she had to cling to a big shot like Kaito. After all, if it weren't for Kaito, she and Lumine would probably still be struggling in some forgotten corner, searching for traces of Aether and working tirelessly on commissions just to make a living. They would never be in a situation like now, where they had already seen Aether and also had no shortage of Mora.

However, she still didn't know what Lumine was thinking. Although she had asked before, Lumine had said she hadn't decided yet.

In any case, she really hoped their next destination would be Liyue, just like Kaito's, so things could be the same as they were in Mondstadt.

This Paimon...

Lumine was a bit embarrassed that Paimon had just blurted it out like that. She had planned to approach the topic gradually, but Paimon had completely derailed her plan. But with Kaito right there, she couldn't get angry.

"No problem. If you two are also heading to Liyue, we can travel together."

Not noticing the change in Lumine's expression, Kaito readily agreed to Paimon's suggestion.

After all, it was nice to have more people on a journey; having only myself for company isn't the best.

"Yay!"

Seeing Kaito agree, Paimon was clearly overjoyed.

Now, she and Lumine could continue to rely on Kaito in the next nation. It couldn't get any better than this.

It seems like just saying it directly was better...

Seeing Paimon so easily accomplish something she had considered difficult, Lumine couldn't help but think to herself. She had prepared several different ways to phrase it, but none were as effective as Paimon's single sentence.

That's true... For something like this, I could have just said it directly... Why did I overthink it so much...

Perhaps because Kaito had helped her several times before, Lumine always felt embarrassed asking him for anything more.

But after what just happened, she realized she really didn't need to overthink things. Some things, you just have to say them when they need to be said.

Lost in thought, Lumine fell into a pensive state.

"Lumine... Lumine..."

"Huh? Who's calling me?"

She had been so absorbed in her thoughts that when she snapped out of it, Lumine looked around in a daze.

"It's me, Lumine! What's wrong? Are you okay?"

Paimon looked at her with concern, surprised that Lumine hadn't even heard her calling.

"Lumine was probably just thinking about something, that's why she didn't notice you calling her."

Kaito had seen her looking thoughtful just a moment ago, so that's what he said.

"Yeah, yeah."

Glancing at Kaito, Lumine gave a slightly guilty smile.

"Then let's go to Liyue for our next country, Lumine! Kaito is going there too, so it's perfect for us to team up."

Paimon didn't think too much about what was on Lumine's mind; right now, she just wanted their next destination to be Liyue.

"Okay, that sounds great."

Nodding, Lumine naturally agreed.

Paimon seemed to be in a good mood, nodding her head several times in a row.

"I'm about done eating, so I'll be heading out. See you next time."

In a hurry to get back to do his gacha pulls and bring some food back for Wendy, the finished Kaito stood up to leave.

"Bye-bye, Kaito~"

"See you next time, Kaito."

Watching Kaito's departing figure, Lumine looked like she wanted to say something but held back.

"Alright, I'll let you know when the time comes."

But even as Kaito's back disappeared through the doorway, Lumine still didn't speak.

Sigh...

Her gaze returning to the food on the table, Lumine sighed silently.

Kaito's residence.

"Let's see what character I can pull this time..."

Sitting on the living room sofa, Kaito prepared to do his gacha pulls.

Although the System was currently in a cooldown period, it didn't affect the gacha function.

"Okay..."

"Pull..."

As Kaito made the pull, the long-unseen summoning animation appeared before his eyes once more.

"Another golden legendary..."

"Are all the character cards legendary-tier?"

A brilliant golden light filled his vision, and Kaito realized he had pulled another golden legendary.

"Holy cow..."

"Herrscher of Finality."

"However..."

"This time, do I transform into the character card's appearance? Or do I split apart again?"
