Chapter 210 - Miko: ???

Although she could roughly guess what Yae Miko meant, given her personality, Acheron decided to let her say it herself.

"Sigh, you're asking even though you know the answer." Sighing disappointedly, Yae Miko continued, "It means you really look like Her Excellency, the Shogun, just like her own sister."

Actually, Yae Miko was probing to see if this person who looked so much like Ei knew the truth about Ei.

Although she believed Ei was probably completely gone, probing a bit more wasn't any trouble.

"Is that so?" Acheron replied faintly to Yae Miko's words.

Sigh...

So annoying...

No expression at all...

She had wanted to read information from the other's expression, but the other showed none, leaving Yae Miko helpless.

"Hey, can't you talk more? You're so terse, I thought you charged for every word."

With that, Yae Miko stepped forward a few paces.

Since the other wouldn't elaborate, she'd see if she could make contact first.

"But we're not acquainted, right?" Acheron's response remained brief.

She knew Yae Miko's visit likely concerned her impersonation of the Raiden Shogun, meaning Yae Miko had her own agenda.

So, she'd stay neutral and wait for Yae Miko to reveal her intentions.

"Sigh, aren't we getting acquainted now? That's a bit hurtful."

Yae Miko seemed genuinely saddened by their lack of acquaintance.

"Indeed." Acheron nodded, confirming they weren't acquainted.

"In that case, I might have to mention your impersonation of Her Excellency, the Shogun." Seeing the other ignore her, Yae Miko threatened.

Though she doubted the other's calm meant fearlessness toward the threat, Yae Miko had to proceed step by step.

"Please do."

Recognizing the threat, Acheron remained indifferent.

No matter what, she had nothing to fear; others should worry about her actions.

"Sigh!"

Now Yae Miko surrendered completely.

Clearly, the other dismissed her threat and had some ace up her sleeve, explaining the confidence.

"If you have nothing else, I'll go eat."

With that, Acheron turned to leave.

Eat?

Is that an invitation?

Stunned, Yae Miko hadn't expected the sudden mention of food.

"Then I'll treat."

Without confirming an invitation, Yae Miko followed and offered to pay naturally.

Acheron said nothing, simply walking ahead silently.

Now she confirmed her guess: Yae Miko had plans.

Thus, she neither refused nor accepted the treat.

Looks like...

She wants to collaborate too...

Following silently, Yae Miko understood the girl's intentions.

If correct, the girl sought cooperation, hence the distant facade without outright refusal.

Even impersonating Ei was likely to draw her out.

"Suddenly realized we've talked so long without names.

Call me Yae Miko. Nice name, right?"

Quickening to walk shoulder-to-shoulder, Yae Miko casually shared her name.

She suspected the other knew it, but pretending ignorance was fine.

More importantly, she wanted the other's name.

"Raiden Mei, Warden of the Forgotten River." Still cold, Acheron gave her true name here.

She could have said Acheron but wanted Yae Miko's reaction to "Raiden."

Raiden?

She too Raiden?

And this name...

Clearly Inazuman...

Unexpected, Yae Miko recalled Ei.

Such coincidence?

Or...

This Mei's form not original?

Pondering, Yae Miko was stumped.

"If too long, call me Acheron."

Acheron continued.

"Acheron? Why that too?"

Mid-thought, Yae Miko was stunned.

"You don't need to know."

"Fine, Mei it is."

Sighing, Yae Miko settled on Mei.

Acheron: "..."

Called Mei, evoking Raiden Mei's image, Acheron felt odd.

But acceptable, so silent.

"Speaking of Forgotten River, why that name? Do you rule it?"

Jokingly, Yae Miko asked.

As Inazuman, she knew Warden of the Forgotten River's meaning.

Curious why Mei chose it.

For others, playful or cool, but not Mei.

Though newly met, she trusted her judgment.

"You don't need to know." Acheron repeated.

"Again? Vary it?"

Expected no answer, but repetitive, Yae Miko speechless.

"Next time something else." Agreeing, Acheron nodded.

Yae Miko: "..."

Now thoroughly speechless.

"Wait!"

As Yae Miko reeled, Acheron halted.

"What?"

Glancing around, Yae Miko braced.

"Memorizing the route."

Kaito's group entered the inn and stayed in, so she'd note the path first.

Yae Miko: "???"
