Chapter 214 - From Now On, You Must Treat Her as the True Her Excellency, the Shogun

"Oh dear, you really won't give me any face at all."

Yae Miko looked quite hurt as she said this in response to Mei's firm refusal.

At this moment, the Kamisato siblings were even more puzzled but didn't dare to ask anything.

"Alright then, it seems I have no choice but to explain it myself."

Glancing at Mei, who still had no intention of speaking, and then at the bewildered Kamisato siblings who didn't dare to ask, Yae Miko sighed and decided to explain herself.

"First of all, this Miss Raiden is not Her Excellency, the Shogun, so you don't need to worry. Put your minds at ease." Gazing at the Kamisato siblings while pointing at Acheron, Yae Miko stated the most important matter upfront.

She knew the siblings were still anxious about the earlier incident.

"What?!"

After hearing Yae Miko's words, Ayaka was stunned.

She had never imagined that the Miss Raiden before her, who looked almost identical to Her Excellency, the Shogun, was not the Shogun herself.

Although her brother had already suspected someone was impersonating the Shogun, seeing Miss Raiden, who bore such a striking resemblance, still shocked Ayaka.

"No wonder Miss Raiden said that earlier. It turns out I was mistaken."

Smiling, Kamisato Ayato felt the weight lift completely from his heart.

Since the other was Lady Guuji's friend—and everything was part of Lady Guuji's plan—he simply admitted his mistake rather than accusing anyone of impersonation.

Mistaken?

Ayaka couldn't help glancing at her brother in surprise. She hadn't expected him to phrase it that way.

In her view, it was clearly the other party who had impersonated the Shogun and misled them first.

However, even thinking that, she said nothing.

After all, her brother must have his reasons for saying it this way; she just needed to watch and not interfere.

"However..."

Just as Ayaka and Kamisato Ayato were lost in their respective thoughts, Yae Miko suddenly added this, making both tense up instinctively.

"You must treat her as the real Her Excellency, the Shogun from now on."

Under the siblings' gazes, Yae Miko said this surprising instruction.

"Lady Guuji's words are law for the Kamisato Clan, but... may I ask why?"

After a moment's thought, Kamisato Ayato first agreed, then asked the reason.

No matter what, Lady Guuji had done the Kamisato Clan a great favor; they had to stand with her.

He simply hoped to understand why she wanted this.

"Why? Because it's my plan."

Smiling, Yae Miko stated it was her plan and continued, "You don't need to feel like you're betraying Her Excellency, the Shogun. My plan is precisely for her benefit. Of course, I'll bear all the consequences."

Knowing the siblings would hesitate, Yae Miko assured them she would take full responsibility, so they needn't worry.

"No matter what happens, the Kamisato Clan remains loyal to Her Excellency, the Shogun. Please rest assured, Lady Guuji."

Seeing Yae Miko's assurance, Kamisato Ayato quickly affirmed this.

Though still puzzled and unaware of the full story, he knew he had to say it.

"You're quite perceptive, aren't you? I said to relax; this isn't a test of your Kamisato Clan's loyalty."

Seeing Kamisato Ayato repeatedly pledge loyalty to the Shogun, Yae Miko chuckled and continued, "Anyway, whenever she appears before you, just treat her as Her Excellency, the Shogun. Ignore everything else. If anything happens later, your clan was simply deceived. Got it?"

"Understood, Lady Guuji."

Realizing Lady Guuji had paved a safe retreat for the Kamisato Clan, Ayato naturally acknowledged it.

Their task was simple: treat Miss Raiden as the real Shogun. If issues arose later, it would just be that the Kamisato Clan failed to detect the impersonation—punishable at worst, but not disastrous.

"Good. Then I'll take my leave first, 'Your Excellency.'"

After addressing the siblings, Yae Miko turned to Acheron beside her. " 'Your Excellency,' shall we go? Time for some fun."

"Let's go."

Acheron, who had been silent, said this and headed outside.

"I'll see you off, Your Excellency and Lady Guuji."

Now fully in role, Kamisato Ayato followed to escort them.

Outside the Kamisato Estate.

"That's far enough. No need to see us further."

Gesturing for the siblings to stop, Yae Miko and Acheron departed.

I wonder what Lady Guuji means by 'fun'?

Watching their retreating figures, Kamisato Ayato couldn't help pondering.

He was deeply curious about her plan, but he knew learning it would bring no benefit to the clan—only potential ruin. So, curiosity was all he could afford.

"Thoma."

Suddenly recalling something, Kamisato Ayato called out.

"Yes, my Lord? What is it?"

Sensing his lord had instructions, Thoma responded promptly from behind.

"If anyone asks what Her Excellency, the Shogun had you do, say nothing. Understood?"

Since Miss Raiden's actions in Ritou clearly didn't align with the Shogun's style, Ayato decided to have Thoma keep it concealed.

Though others knew too, Thoma must stay silent no matter what.

"Yes, my Lord."

Complying with his lord's order, Thoma hesitated before asking, "By the way, my Lord... is everything alright now?"

Unaware of what transpired inside, Thoma was eager to know if the crisis had passed.

"Yes, it's resolved."

Nodding to Thoma's question, Kamisato Ayato confirmed.

"That's a huge relief."

Hearing this, Thoma sighed in relief.

He didn't need the details—just the outcome.

Afterward, everyone returned to the house one by one.
