Chapter 3 - A Slight Mishap

Liu Feiyang smiled faintly, then sat cross-legged on his bed.

"Alright, let's start with the major arcs… I can't afford to forget even a single piece."

..........

'So, the first and most important for me is the attack of Yang Bai on the sect which happens in.....

I will have to check on Yang Kai to get an idea about how much time I have left. I hope I still have about a year or I will have no choice except running away.'

Liu Feiyang activated the [Map] to scan the surrounding area and he could only see one red dot glowing on the screen. The screen also lacked any information about the terrain or any other hints but he hoped to somehow manage.

'This one should be the black book so Yang Kai must be nearby too.' he thought ' But I should get myself familiarized with this sect before trying anything stupid. Also, I should also meet "Old man Meng" tomorrow.'

At Night

Following the map for half an hour, Liu Feiyang reached the outskirts of the trial disciple's region and spotted a familiar hut.

"This must be Yang Kai's place so the black book must be here too but I should first make sure Yang Kai isn't here" Liu Feiyang muttered, peeking through holes to confirm Yang Kai's absence before entering the hut.

Inside, he searched around and found a black rock on a stack of hay, and he picked it up to inspect it when....

[Congratulations, the host has discovered the Demon Mystic Tome]

The notification from the system confirmed it was what he was looking for.

"I didn't really want to steal your only opportunity which started your cultivation journey but I need something good to start my own cultivation before I figure out how to awaken my own bloodline, and there is also Demon Eye of Annihilation, its potential is immeasurable with my Fusion ability." He shook his head as he felt guilty taking this opportunity from someone who was once his favorite main character.

"But don't worry, I am not unfair, I will help you out when the time comes." He then quietly left for his own dorm, his roommates were going out today and he refused for obvious reason.

.....

Sitting down, Liu Feiyang placed the rock on the ground, used a small knife to make a small cut on his thumb.

"Ouchh! How the hell they just bit their own thumps so casually? I have a long way to go in terms of pain tolerance."

Letting a few drops of blood fall on it. The black rock transformed into a black book, and a golden skeleton emerged from it.

"The Unyielding Golden Skeleton! HAHA!" Liu Feiyang shouted in excitement.

In the next moment, before he could make any sense of the situation the skeleton went inside him and started merge with his bones, and his whole body started to spasm uncontrollably.

The next moment, his head also started to hurt badly and it soon became very hard to remain conscious.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH." He screamed at the top of his lungs without any care about his surrounding as the pain in his head continued to rise, it felt as if someone was stabbing him with a knife on his head.

"SHIT, SHIT, SHIT. I forgot.... that the golden skeleton also.... tries tO tAKE oVER THE MIND. FUCCKKKKKKKK!"

Liu Feiyang was in deep trouble. He didn't have high mental resilience like the standards of this world required nor did he have luck of a child of destiny. He has made a big mistake as soon as stepped in this world and there was nothing he could do about it.

"SYSTEM, HELP MEEEE!?"

[There is nothing I can do right which will be of help to you host. You will have to deal with the situation yourself.]

Liu Feiyang was truly speechless, he couldn't even curse back at the system as the pain was so much wasn't even able to form thoughts properly right now.

He dropped to the ground, gritting his teeth, clenching his fist and banging his hands and feet like a mad man as he still didn't want to give up, not after he has just gotten another chance.

His consciences was starting to fade away when suddenly, his eyes flashed with crimson red light and his body went limp as he lost his mind finally went blank.

Inside Liu Feiyang's mind space

The golden skeleton was now standing on a grass field where all the grass were withered and dark pink sky without any sun, moon or even stars in it.

"He he he he." A very hazy and unrecognizable voice came out of the golden skeleton's mouth as his jaws moved as if he was speaking something.

It didn't have a complete consciousness as a spirit so it could not speak properly too. It was happy when he was set free from that black space and even more delighted to see that a naive boy with almost no cultivation was the one who took him out of the darkness.

It attacked the boy out of pure instinct to survive and now it could easily absorb this boy's residual soul and gain complete sentience.

"HOW DARE YOU!"

A pair of crimson red eyes were now staring at golden skeleton as he heard a loud roar of terrifying beast following those words.

As an incomplete spirit, he wasn't capable of having many emotions and only acted on instincts of survival but right now, for the first time in his life he has felt fear.

All his bones started to shake and he know what he had to do next... RUN.

He tried to escape the mind space but unexpectedly he failed, he tried and tried again but still failed so choose the next best option and turned away to run but its fate was already sealed the moment it entered.

A crimson beam of energy soon engulfed him, leaving behind nothing but a few of his bones.

As soon as the skeleton was gone, a tall and dark figure covered in shadows came into existence and soon the residual bones flew towards the figure, disappearing in its darkness.

"Should we have intervened sooner?" A distorted voice came from the pair of crimson eyes.

"No." The black figure gave answered with a firm voice and then disappeared.
