Paragus froze for a moment as Frieza's words hit him like a warning bell.
"It's not like that, Lord Frieza..." Paragus was flustered as he spoke, he hadn't expected Earth to have such powerful opponents.
As he watched the two merged mini-Cells trade blows evenly with Broly, Paragus felt panic rise within his heart.
Helpless, he shouted toward Super Broly: "Broly! Finish them quickly!"
However, Super Broly was fully absorbed in his battle and didn't pay any attention to Paragus.
At that moment, Frieza's vicious gaze fell upon Paragus and Paragus immediately felt an oppressive pressure flood his nerves.
"Fr... Frieza... King Frieza?"
The next second, however, Frieza smiled and asked politely,
"What's the matter, Lord Paragus?"
Seeing that Frieza was still being courteous andhis usual smiling self, Paragus slowly let go of the heavy weight pressing on his heart.
"N-Nothing at all..." Paragus replied timidly.
As Frieza stared at the submissive Paragus, suspicion arose in his heart. Paragus's battle power was only 5,000, yet he somehow fathered a son like Super Broly.
That was truly beyond reason.
Frieza finally voiced his doubt: "Paragus, I have a question for you."
Not understanding the intent, Paragus respectfully replied: "Please, King Frieza, go ahead."
"This question may sound impolite, but I hope you'll answer me honestly," Frieza said with a faint smile on his face while his dark gaze never left Super Broly.
"I wouldn't dare! King Frieza, ask whatever you wish!" Paragus said.
Frieza slowly asked, "Is your son, Broly, truly your biological son?"
The moment those words left his mouth, Paragus fell into a brief silence. Frieza's sharp eyes scanned Paragus up and down, waiting for a response.
But after ten full seconds, Paragus still gave no answer.
"Lord Paragus?" Frieza prompted.
As though snapping back from a buried memory, Paragus stammered, "O-of course... King Frieza!"
Looking at the distracted and unsettled Paragus, Frieza chuckled quietly to himself; he seemed to already know the truth.
"My apologies, Lord Paragus, for asking such a thing but the reason I asked is because I once saw another Saiyan who looked very much like your son."
Frieza's words made Paragus's body jolt violently as if that single sentence had stabbed straight into his heart.
Flustered, Paragus asked hastily, "King Frieza?! Is what you just said true?!"
Seeing Paragus's reaction, Frieza smiled wider; his suspicions were most likely correct.
"Yes, Lord Paragus. Just tell me the truth, and afterward, I'll tell you where that Saiyan is."
However, what Frieza didn't know was that their entire conversation had been overheard by a green-skinned figure in the distance.
On the surface, Piccolo appeared to be watching the battle between Super Broly and the two merged mini-Cells.
But, in reality, he was constantly keeping an eye on Frieza.
He had just overheard something incredible.
The fighter clashing with the merged mini-Cells might be deeply connected to the one sealed inside Majin Buu.
This forced Piccolo to prick up his ears and listen more intently.
Paragus's trembling words kept echoing in his mind.
…
Saiyan Incubation Chamber.
In a dim corner.
A baby with crab-like hair was born.
However, this infant registered only a power level of 2 at birth, a true low-class warrior.
In the adjacent pod, another child slept.
The nursery door opened and a man with a scar across his face stepped in.
It was none other than Son Goku's biological father, Bardock.
He stood before the incubation pod and examined the newly born Son Goku with longing eyes, murmuring, "Kakarot..."
Suddenly, the neighboring pod shook and Bardock turned his head.
On that pod were three large characters: "Broly."
The little guy immediately caught Bardock's attention. "Oh? Is that Broly, Paragus's son?"
Suddenly, the child named Broly erupted with an immensely powerful surge.
Even to Bardock, that power felt uncanny.
Soon, the entire nursery began to tremble.
The talent Broly displayed was extraordinary! The young Son Goku beside him was so frightened by this unnatural phenomenon that he began to cry.
"Waaahhh!" Son Goku wailed.
This reaction caused Bardock to shout his son's name, "Kakarot!?"
Having his own child cry like that was distressing, but what could he do? He was his son, after all. Bardock patted the glass of the incubation pod and called out loudly to soothe his son. "Kakarot! Don't be afraid! Daddy's here!"
Despite Bardock's efforts to comfort him, the young Son Goku did not stop crying.
In fact, he cried even louder.
"Waaahhh!!!"
His cries echoed through the nursery, and Bardock didn't know what to do. He was kindhearted, so there was no way he could think of extinguishing Broly's life, right?
After all, he wasn't like King Vegeta, who put royal authority above everything.
Thinking this, Bardock grew worried for Paragus.
"Paragus's son...his talent surpasses all other Saiyans. If this continues, it's sure to attract King Vegeta's attention."
Suddenly, Broly inside the incubation pod opened his eyes.
He had been awakened by Son Goku's shouting. He had also heard Bardock call out Kakarot's name.
The child glared angrily and bellowed, "Kakarot! KAKAROT!!!"
Yes, this was the movie-version Broly.
Watching Broly repeatedly call out to his son, Bardock was puzzled.
(Probably Kakarot woke him up.)
No sooner had that thought passed than Bardock's face changed abruptly; his expression twisted grotesquely.
He clutched his head with both hands, looking agonized. He knew his precognitive ability had appeared again.
Then, a scene flashed through his mind.
King Vegeta lifts Z-Broly by the tail and hands him over to a spherical ship. The ship's final destination is an extremely remote planet.
Supplies were virtually nonexistent on that planet, and ultimately, the young Broly will meet a miserable death on that world.
Bardock came to, trembling as he stood there, dumbfounded, staring at Z-Broly's shouting.
"Dammit! Don't make such a fuss! You'll bring about your own doom!"
Bardock was concerned, of course, about the scene he had witnessed through his precognitive ability.
Though he had only met Paragus a few times, he was unwilling to see such a tragedy occur because of Paragus's kind nature.
If King Vegeta were to learn about Z-Broly's overwhelming talent in advance...
Then, just as in his prophetic vision, Broly would surely die a miserable death.
Because of this, Bardock resolved to change everything!
He carried Kakarot out of his incubation pod and placed him in the nursery next door.
After carefully adjusting the settings, he finally managed to settle his son. At last, Kakarot quieted down.
Bardock turned around and walked straight toward the pod where Z-Broly rested.
At that moment, he collided head-on with a scarred Saiyan.
"Bardock?!"
"Paragus?!"
Both Bardock and Paragus cried out each other's names simultaneously. The next second, Bardock tapped his fist lightly against Paragus's chest.
Glancing around cautiously to make sure no one was behind him, Bardock pulled Paragus into a corner.
"Hey, Paragus! Your kid's name is Broly, right?"
Paragus blinked in confusion and looked at Bardock as if he were a thief.
"Yes."
"What about it?"
Bardock's expression grew tense. After confirming once more that they were alone, he led Paragus over to Z-Broly's incubation pod.
Soon, the two arrived at the pod where Z-Broly lay.
Bardock was surprised to see that the formerly agitated Z-Broly had fallen back asleep.
"Paragus, what I'm about to say may sound unbelievable.
"But you need to listen carefully!" Bardock said in a deadly serious tone.
Paragus's eyes wavered. "What is it?"
Bardock recounted everything he had just witnessed regarding Z-Broly's abnormal outburst.
"That's what happened..."
Hearing this, Paragus became so excited that he shook Z-Broly's pod vigorously.
Joy spread across his face uncontrollably.
"Is this true, Bardock?!"
"Absolutely. I saw it with my own eyes."
As one of the most exceptional Saiyans, Bardock would never say something without certainty. Naturally, Paragus chose to believe him.
"This is wonderful! It looks like we Saiyans finally have a chance to rise again! My son! Broly! You will become the mightiest Saiyan!"
Paragus was so overwhelmed with excitement at that moment that words could hardly express it.
To confirm, he raised his scouter and aimed it at Z-Broly.
Beep-beep-beep!
The scouter shook violently as the numbers began to skyrocket.
Paragus's heartbeat rose with them.
The numbers leapt from 1 all the way up to 9,999!
Finally, they stopped at 10,000 battle power. And this was just a newborn child!
"Ten thousand! It's 10,000!" Paragus shouted in ecstasy.
Clatter!
Bardock instantly clamped his hand over Paragus's mouth.
"Hey, you idiot! Shut up already! Don't let anyone else find out!"
Paragus slapped Bardock's hand away and continued.
"What? Your son was just born too. His battle power can't possibly be higher than my son's, right?"
"Are you jealous? Let me see what your son's battle power is!"
The moment those words left his lips, Bardock slapped Paragus across the face.
It wasn't because Paragus had insulted Kakarot; it was because Bardock wanted to slap some sense into him.
"Fool! Get your head straight! Think about it! If King Vegeta finds out about this, do you think Broly will be allowed to live?"
Bardock's words instantly sobered Paragus.
"You mean... King Vegeta would kill Broly?" Paragus's voice dropped.
"Paragus, I'm telling you with absolute certainty that once King Vegeta learns of this, he will definitely kill Broly. So, you must take him and escape Planet Vegeta immediately!"
Like a man woken from a dream, Paragus snapped to attention.
Without hesitation, he began moving, lifting Z-Broly out of his pod.
"Bardock! Please prepare three spaceships for me! I'm begging you!" Paragus's tone was earnest; none of the mockery from earlier remained in his voice.
But Bardock froze. If Paragus was fleeing with Broly, they would only need two ships.
"Why three ships?!" Do you mean you want me to go with you? That's impossible! I have a family here!"
The next second, Paragus dropped a bombshell.
He explained, "I need to go to the highest-level nursery to find my eldest son! If Broly is a prodigy, then his older brother must be too. After all, they're twins!"
The son Paragus spoke of was none other than Super Broly from the original story.
The word "twins" branded itself into Bardock's mind.
He couldn't help but glance at Paragus again.
Paragus had a battle power of almost 5,000, yet he had fathered two extraordinarily gifted twin sons!
"So, Paragus, who did you have them with?"
But just then, a noise came from outside.
Someone was approaching!
Their hearts leapt into their throats. Z-Broly's existence could not be revealed.
Paragus quickly suggested, "I'll stall them! Bardock, take Broly and go! If possible, send him to a relatively safe planet!"
The situation was urgent, and Bardock understood instantly.
As he watched Paragus's retreating back, Bardock blasted a hole through the nursery ceiling with brute force.
Once he confirmed that Paragus had lured the nursery scientists away, Bardock carried Z-Broly out safely.
Soon...
On a barren stretch of land,
Bardock pulled out a spherical ship. After making several adjustments, he set its destination: a relatively safe planet where Z-Broly could grow up unharmed.
With everything prepared, Bardock placed Z-Broly into the pod.
As the sun set, Z-Broly was safely launched away from Planet Vegeta.
"Paragus… your youngest son may have escaped the fate of dying miserably."
"But… what about your eldest son?"
Unconsciously, Bardock turned his gaze toward the prosperous city district, his eyes filled with worry.
