Ever since Sorbet's death, Tagoma had taken his place.
He had become Frieza's number one lackey, the chief commander of the Frieza Force.
All the duties Sorbet once handled were now his responsibility.
And because of that, Tagoma had been spared from continuing as Frieza's sparring partner, spared from that endless, torturous "training."
Frieza, lounging in a chair that looked suspiciously like a baby stroller, suddenly showed interest. He curled his finger, gesturing for Tagoma to continue.
Tagoma bowed deeply and said, "Lord Frieza, are you aware… that King Cooler has been resurrected?"
At those words, a cold glint flashed through Frieza's eyes. "Oh? When did that happen?" he murmured.
Tagoma continued, "So it seems even you didn't know, Lord Frieza?"
His expression darkened, as if recalling something unpleasant.
"Yesterday… when our forces attacked a certain mechanical planet, we met fierce resistance from the native inhabitants."
"There was one warrior among them, a man called General Rilldo. He was incredibly powerful, and he possessed a terrifying ability: he could fuse himself with metal."
"In addition, there was someone pulling the strings behind the scenes, an old man. He looked weak, but even General Rilldo treated him with utmost respect. They called him Dr. Myuu."
As Tagoma went on, Frieza's patience began to wear thin. Still, he smiled politely. "Hehehe… Lord Tagoma, please get to the point."
Realizing Frieza's displeasure, Tagoma immediately got to the crux of it.
"I'm ashamed to admit it, Lord Frieza, I couldn't defeat Rilldo. And just as I was about to die, something unbelievable happened: King Cooler's subordinates appeared on that planet."
"And then… King Cooler himself showed up! Those two, Rilldo and Dr. Myuu, were killed by King Cooler. That planet is now under his control."
"And then… King Cooler personally tried to recruit me into his ranks…"
At that, Frieza raised an eyebrow. "So, Lord Tagoma, did you accept?"
The suspicion of an emperor could freeze the blood. Tagoma immediately straightened up, trembling.
"No! Never, Lord Frieza! I, Tagoma, will follow you unto death! King Cooler tried to force me to submit in every possible way, but I refused. In the end, he had no choice but to let me go."
At this point, Tagoma's legs were shaking.
"And… King Cooler asked me to deliver a message to you."
Frieza's interest returned. He flicked his tail lightly. "Oh? And what message is that?"
"He said, he's going to take back what belongs to him," Tagoma answered.
Upon hearing this, Frieza simply smiled… then rose to his feet. That smile quickly faded, replaced by a rare seriousness He knew exactly what Cooler meant. Since his own resurrection a year ago, Frieza had taken over every planet that once belonged to Cooler.
Even those that had been under King Cold's control, all had been absorbed into Frieza's empire.
And the two brothers had always despised each other.
Frieza's actions had undoubtedly pushed Cooler's hatred to its peak.
"Heh… so he's been revived too. Interesting. But how did he come back to life?" Rather than reacting to the threat, Frieza was far more interested in that detail.
Tagoma paused, then hurried to explain.
"Lord Frieza, I started investigating the moment I heard the news. And finally, I found out the truth. It turns out the problem came from within our own army. Some of the people we took in after your resurrection were actually Cooler's men."
"They even helped with your own revival back then."
"Knowing that the Dragon Balls can resurrect the dead, they secretly went to find Monaito a month ago and forced him to hand over the Two-Star Dragon Ball."
"They sacrificed their own lives… to bring King Cooler back."
"And there's more, a far greater problem. Some of the soldiers who once served under King Cold have also revived King Cold himself."
At that revelation, Frieza's fist clenched tightly.
He truly hadn't expected that the Frieza Force would have such deep internal problems now.
This was clearly a sign that they no longer even respected him, Frieza, the Emperor.
First Cooler. Now King Cold.
There could be only one Emperor of the Universe! Frieza forced down his fury, smiling a smile uglier than crying. "Heh heh heh… I didn't expect Father to be resurrected as well."
Frieza's mind began to drift back to the past.
During the Janemba incident, he and the others had escaped from Hell, tasting a brief moment of freedom. But in the end, they were still dead men.
Even if they were destroyed again, they'd only return to Hell, not cease to exist, merely become weaker than before.
Frieza still vividly remembered: after Janemba was defeated, they lost their ability to linger in the living world.
When they returned to Hell once more, he saw King Cold being trampled underfoot by a little red oni.
That humiliation, of course, was because Frieza himself had personally killed King Cold.
For that reason, King Cold's hatred toward Frieza had reached its absolute peak. The relationship between father and son could not have been worse.
But what pained Frieza even more now was realizing how many traitors and double-crossers existed within his own army.
He felt a deep sting of betrayal.
With his hands clasped behind his back, Frieza muttered softly, "Come, Tagoma. Let's go pay Cooler a visit… and see my father while we're at it."
"There are some things everyone needs to understand."
"There can be only one Emperor of this universe."
"Ah-choo! Ah-choo! Ah-choo!"
Just after declaring his resolve, Frieza suddenly sneezed three times in a row.
Tagoma blinked, confused. "Lord Frieza, are you… catching a cold?"
It was strange, Frieza, who looked ready to go confront Cooler himself, was suddenly sneezing like a mortal. That didn't sit right at all, and Tagoma began to worry. Frieza shook his head sharply, trying to clear it. He couldn't figure out what was happening today.
Could it be… I caught a chill after returning from that icy place on Earth?
But the moment that thought arose, Frieza dismissed it with contempt.
Impossible! Absolutely impossible! I am a prodigy of the Frost Demon race, the cold only excites me. How could I possibly catch a chill?!
"What a joke, Lord Tagoma. Let's go."
Yet the true reason behind all this…
Was that, far away on Earth, a certain wild Saiyan was thinking about him.
Super Broly, his fury reaching its peak, was preparing to face his younger brother.
