Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: “Reality hits fiction?”

She closed the book she was reading and let out a deep sigh.

"Okay, I hope I might get transmigrated in this complicated novel. Hay nako, bakit kaya ang mga tauhan nitong nobela ay ang bobo." Violet muttered sarcastically, adjusting her glasses over her almond-shaped eyes.

["Okay, I hope I might get transmigrated in this complicated novel. Gosh, why are the characters in this novel so stupid."]

"Violet Dela Cruz!" her mom's voice echoed from downstairs, calling her for dinner.

Violet made her way down, but was stunned to see the dining table completely empty.

"Ma, saan ang hapunan natin?" sinabi ng dalaga sa kanyang ina na naghuhugas ng mga pinggan.

["Mom, where's dinner?" the maiden said to her mother that's currently washing the dishes.]

Her mother replied without even looking back.

"Siyempre ikaw ang bibili ng ating ulam."

["Of course you're the one to buy dinner's food."]

"Fine, fine... ano ba ang e-bibili kong ulam?"

["Fine, fine... What food am I gonna buy?"]

"Bili ka ng dalawang pancit canton. Ang ordinary flavor lang ha, atsaka isang itlog," sinabi ng nanay ng dalaga.

["Buy two *Pancit Canton. Just pick the ordinary flavor, and one egg.]

*A brand of dry noodles in the Philippines.

"Oo mother. Lalabas lang ako saglit," Violet replied with a halfhearted sigh as she grabbed some coins and walked out the door.

[Yes mother. I'm gonna go out a bit.]

She walked toward the corner of their street and noticed something odd.

"O, minsan lang ako makakita ng ganitong pusa dito sa barangay…" she said, watching the snow-white cat licking its paw. It felt strangely out of place in their neighborhood.

["Oh, I only see a cat like this once in the *barangay."]

*In the Philippines, a small territorial and administrative district forming the most local level of government.

Just as the cat began to cross the street, Violet's eyes widened. A truck was speeding toward it.

"Wow, Truck-kun. Is that you? Baka ini-expect mo akong ligtasin ang pusa."

["Wow, Truck-kun. Is that you? Maybe you're expecting me to save the cat."]

Without hesitation, Violet bolted forward.

"Atchaka, tama ka," she whispered with a determined smile.

["And, you're correct."]

She saved the cat… but not herself.

Everything turned black.

When she opened her eyes, she was no longer on the street, but staring up at a high, ornate ceiling fit for royalty. It looked straight out of a medieval European fantasy.

"…Bruh. Really?" She groaned, already piecing things together. "Akala mo author hindi ko alam na nandito ako sa walang kwentang nobela na binasa ko?!"

["...Bruh. Really?" She groaned, already piercing things together. "You thought I don't know that I'm here in that garbage of a novel that I read, Author?!"]

Annoyed, she forced herself upright in the soft bed, rubbing her temple.

"Ugh, my head hurts. Huh? Am I tripping, or did I just suddenly get fluent in my English accent?"

Just then, a servant girl entered, carrying a basin filled with fresh flowers.

"Good morning, Lady Viloria," the girl greeted warmly.

Violet blinked. Viloria? Her mind clicked instantly.

"Ah, so na-possess ko ang katawan nang side character sa nobelang 'My Master.' How cliché."

["Ah, so I possessed the body of a side character in 'My Master'. How cliché."]

"Hehe." An evil chuckle escaped her lips—an instinctive fourth wall break. "Interesting."

From that point on, she decided to roll with it—embracing the identity of the minor character whose body she now inhabited.

A week later, she had gathered enough context to understand the novel's current timeline.

Violet now sat in her manor's garden, delicately holding a porcelain teacup.

"Ah, what a pleasant weather," she said to herself, sipping lightly.

"Ganito ba palagi ang nararamdaman ng mga Female Lead sa mga webtoon at nobela? Sana ol nalang ako sa kanila."

["Do Female Leads in webtoons and novels always feel this relaxation? Lucky them, I guess."]

She gently placed the cup on the table.

"Pero, come to think of it, wala pa nagpakita ang mga main characters ng nobelang ito," she muttered under her breath, brows furrowed in thought.

["But, come to think of it, none of the main characters showed up yet,"]

A maid approached her with a sealed envelope.

"Emma, what's this?" Violet asked, raising an eyebrow as she took the letter.

"It's an invitation to the upcoming Spriballion, my lady," Emma answered with a small smirk.

"You may leave now, Emma," Violet said coolly, but once the maid had left, her internal monologue exploded.

Well, the ball is going to be the prologue of the "My Master" novel. I should watch out for the main characters. I don't want to get involved with them. Shoot, that was the iconic line of FLs tho…

Internal crying.

"Chill myself. I won't be like the typical female lead," she whispered. "I'm just a supporting character anyway… bruh."
