Chapter 74 - Chapter 73: Hunter Internet Café

What he saw at a glance—was that Chrollo? Yare yare, is he really here? Don't stare at him, these nen users have sharp senses.

He was probably also here to test the functions of the Hunter license. Chrollo's seat was in the last row, by the window in the corner. Saiki Kusuo looked around; there weren't many free seats, so he sat in the row ahead of him, used the Hunter license to log in, and also took out his own laptop.

Dealing with these troublesome things, better to settle everything here at once.

[Hm? Saiki.]

Already found so easily? Saiki Kusuo ignored it. But the light beside him was suddenly blocked, and he noticed someone standing there, all dressed in black.

"Hi, I think your name is Alluka, right? Do you want a drink?" Chrollo asked Alluka.

"Thank you, big brother, but you're a stranger. Alluka doesn't drink from strangers." Sitting next to Saiki Kusuo, Alluka shook her head.

A stranger shouldn't know your name. That's actually that knight from the exam, Alluka. But refusing drinks from strangers is the right choice. Saiki Kusuo lowered his head and kept thinking, while his two accounts were already locked in. He began operating his laptop.

Good thing I've been practicing finger strength control. Otherwise, this fragile keyboard would've been broken by my typing.

"Then what about you, Saiki? Do you want a drink?" Chrollo asked.

Wait, weren't you in the back looking up info? How come…

Saiki Kusuo looked up, and realized the person standing beside him really was Chrollo.

It was the black-haired Chrollo, with his hair down, wrapped in a bandage, carrying a school bag on one shoulder. He looked like a student even younger than Saiki Kusuo.

This guy is about two years older than Illumi.

But if the black-haired Chrollo is here, then who's that person in the back?

"Boss, is that someone you know?" The knight raised his head, caught Saiki Kusuo's gaze, and waved. "Hey!"

The person behind him was a real Phantom Troupe member!

It made sense—Shalnark had taken this test because of the Troupe, so of course he showed up right away.

"If it's someone the leader knows, can I ask? I noticed just now… were you hacking into the Hunter website's backend?" Shalnark's green eyes were clear, but the words he said sounded devilish.

Saiki Kusuo: …

It's fine if you know, but don't say that kind of thing out loud in a Hunter net café, alright? Now everyone's staring at me!

"No, Saiki already passed and got his Hunter License." Chrollo, one hand in his pocket and looking relaxed while sipping his drink, helped Saiki out. "And the Hunter website's security is among the best in the world. How could it… be so easy to break into?"

Some people shifted their gaze away.

But Chrollo's stare grew stronger as he stood behind Alluka, looking at Saiki Kusuo's computer screen.

Chrollo: [Hmm, I can't fully understand it.]

Saiki Kusuo: Then why are you staring like you get it?

Good grief, looks like Chrollo never really studied anything about computers. He must've left that stuff to Shalnark.

Shalnark, on the other hand, was fully focused on the screen: [This method is kind of interesting. I want to try it too.]

Someone was about to pick up a strange new skill.

Hey, don't memorize that kind of thing, okay?

Shalnark: Got it. Let's keep an eye on what those two IDs do later.

"By the way, Saiki, you two have met before. A few years back, when the Troupe was leaving Meteor City."

"So it was him? Pink hair really is rare. Long time no see, Saiki!" Shalnark greeted him with a bright smile.

Not happy at all. I just wanted to finish this quickly—could you two please stop staring at my screen? Good grief, I need something to distract them…

On the other side of the room, Gon and the others had just finished checking the info on Kukuroo Mountain.

"Kurapika, you're looking stuff up too? Ah, about the Phantom Troupe."

"Yeah. The Hunter site should have info on the Spiders that I don't know yet. Maybe even pictures of them…"

Stop drawing attention, please.

Saiki Kusuo looked up—and sure enough, both Chrollo and Shalnark had fallen silent, glancing at Kurapika from the corner of their eyes.

Shalnark: [Who's that guy, and why is he looking for us?]

Chrollo: [Almost forgot, this one's already qualified to learn Nen. It won't be long now…]

Saiki Kusuo: The real problem is Kurapika's about to see the Troupe's photos on the site, including Shalnark and Chrollo. He'll notice them right away, won't he?

Wait, is the battlefield about to start right here?

Good grief, what a pain! In an instant, Saiki Kusuo shut his laptop, pulled out both his and Shalnark's Hunter Licenses from the machine, and the computer powered off.

He stuffed his computer into his bag with one hand, grabbed Alluka, and with the other hand seized Shalnark and Chrollo by the wrist.

Teleport!

Being suddenly pulled away, the two Spiders tensed up for a moment, ready to fight—but after arriving, they quickly calmed down.

"So this is… teleportation? With no warning at all…" [Seems like there weren't any conditions—we were just teleported right away.] Shalnark scanned the surroundings.

Chrollo: [As long as he touches someone, he can teleport them, no matter how many? Now that's interesting.]

Always using psychic powers, always being analyzed by this guy… seriously.

Saiki Kusuo handed Shalnark back his Hunter License: [Sorry, I acted on my own.]

"Isn't it too biased to favor one person like this? He'll definitely come for revenge, and he'll definitely die at the hands of one of us. It's only a matter of time." Chrollo spoke calmly.

Saiki Kusuo had only teleported them to the roof of the net café.

Downstairs, Kurapika had already found the Phantom Troupe's pictures—and confirmed that the person who had been taking the exam under the name Shalnark was a Spider.

Thinking about how he had been with his sworn enemies all this time, Kurapika was now seething with rage.

[He loses control the moment the Spiders are mentioned, unable to suppress his killing intent. What's so worth paying attention to in someone like that?] Chrollo thought to himself.

The less attention you pay, the better. Saiki Kusuo thought back.

[Ah, I left my drink on the desk.] Chrollo suddenly remembered.

Saiki Kusuo stayed quiet. This guy would definitely go all the way back just for two cans of soda without a second thought.

He pulled some coins out of his pocket and traded them for the drinks from the machine.

"Thanks," Chrollo said naturally, taking the cans and handing one to Nobunaga. "Well then, goodbye."

Saiki Kusuo waved as Chrollo and Nobunaga jumped off the rooftop, bouncing between the buildings as they left.

Are they Spider-Man or what?

Saiki Kusuo watched them leave, and only after making sure Kurapika was safe did he teleport Alluka near the Hunter Exam site.

Alluka: [What just happened? Why did we go up there, and why could we leave so soon…?]

Seeing Alluka's total confusion, Saiki Kusuo only said: [Big brother is still around here. Once he shows up, we'll see Killua.]
