Though the Floowandereeze Deck was already straightforward enough, Jade still clutched her head in frustration.
After all, in this world, it was hard enough for an ordinary person to master even one Deck. Someone like Morgan, who switched Decks as easily as drinking water, was truly an anomaly.
Morgan, however, wasn't in any rush. The Duel King selection tournament was still far away, and she had plenty of time to teach Jade.
"Morgan, this Deck is so hard to play. I've never seen a Deck that can Normal Summon so many times… I'm not used to it."
Jade frowned. Even though Morgan had taught her the basic moves, once in practice, she still panicked, not knowing what to do first. In their recent mock duel, Morgan had once again beaten her effortlessly, without leaving her a chance to fight back.
Jade was filled with frustration, though she had long since grown used to it—every day was a cycle of defeat and rebuilding under Morgan's guidance. This time, too, she only grumbled a bit before continuing her training.
Rowe watched curiously, relieved that Jade was the one suffering for once.
Though inside, worry gnawed at her. Even as a reserve, competing in the Duel King selection tournament demanded first-rate skill… and her current level was nowhere near enough.
Now she was lost. Should she keep refining her current Deck, or switch to a new one like Jade?
That said, Rowe lacked Morgan's talent for deck-building; she couldn't just pull a powerful build out of thin air.
Isla, watching Morgan and Jade's duel, was astonished. The Floowandereeze Deck had a unique style, allowing repeated Normal Summons. Under current rules, a Duelist was normally limited to one Normal Summon per turn, but with multiple, the Deck's combos flowed far more easily.
The downside, however, was that its monsters' stats weren't high. Perhaps it needed strong Winged Beasts splashed in.
And it also seemed to have effects recycling resources from the Banished Zone, making its endurance quite good.
Isla rubbed her chin, trying to analyze the Deck. Although she knew this was only a mock duel with lowered difficulty. Until a real fight, no one could see the true strengths and weaknesses of a Deck.
After half a day's voyage, an island finally came into view beyond the cruise ship's windows.
But to Morgan's disappointment, this island was very different from the one in the anime. There was no active volcano, and its size was double.
She unfolded a map of the island. It marked all the key facilities of the Senior Division.
First was the dormitories. Unlike the anime's Three Egyptian God colors, these were ranked: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Gold was the most luxurious, Bronze the most shabby.
The reason was simple: students could only realistically reach Gold rank, so no higher dorms were built.
Albeit this year, with Morgan as an outlier, the Academy was forced to consider creating a special Platinum dorm.
After all, they couldn't have her living with teachers. Was she here to study—or to work?
Morgan continued scanning the map. Next was the massive main school building, which housed top-tier duel arenas rivaling those of the Duelist League.
Then the Riding Duel grounds, sprawling to nearly encircle the island.
And finally, leisure facilities: hot springs, amusement parks, and more, for relaxation after study.
Suddenly, shouts came from behind. Morgan turned to see a group of boys crowding the window, gawking at the deck.
A slim figure in a black swimsuit lay on a sun chair, sipping wine beneath the sun. Her striking curves were on full display.
The students, brimming with youthful energy, were ecstatic.
"So pretty! Is she a teacher here? I'm never skipping her class!"
"In Senior Division, you want extra classes—fail and you'll be expelled!"
"She's gorgeous, and that body… wonder if she's into younger guys."
"Say that louder—I can hear you from the southern hemisphere!"
Morgan followed their gaze and spotted the woman. Her pale back shone under the sun, dazzlingly white.
Such a smooth back—wasted without cupping therapy.
Morgan squinted. She felt she had seen that back before, but couldn't recall where.
Soon, the cruise docked. Students disembarked with their luggage, eyes searching for the mysterious teacher.
Morgan, map in hand, led her group toward the school building—priority was finding the cafeteria. She was already hungry.
"All students, follow your dorm teachers! Drop off your luggage, then gather at the main hall for the headmaster's address!"
The teachers barked orders from above. Among them stood the beautiful teacher from earlier.
The crowd split into groups. Most were Bronze, half as many Silver, and only a handful Gold.
Under Morgan's guidance, Isla, Jade, and Rowe all achieved Silver rank, with Rowe nearly Gold.
Meanwhile, outside these groups, Morgan stood alone, looking out of place.
The lead teacher frowned. "You there, why haven't you chosen a dorm? What rank are you?"
Morgan sighed. "There doesn't seem to be a dorm for me."
"Don't joke. We have Bronze, Silver, and Gold—"
"I'm Platinum."
The teacher froze, staring in disbelief. "Impossible… I've never heard of a Platinum student!"
"I've no reason to lie."
Morgan's face was calm. The teacher pulled out a terminal to check her data. His eyes widened. It was true—her profile listed Platinum rank.
And her name…
He looked up sharply. "You're Morgan! The Junior Division Duelist League champion!"
At once, countless eyes fixed on her—curious, questioning, admiring. Winning so easily, then delivering that speech on the podium—anyone who saw it admired her deeply.
"Wow, that's her? I heard about the exam, but didn't see it myself."
"She didn't just appear—she beat the Director of General Affairs! Word spread through the entire Senior Division!"
"No wonder she's called the Witch. And she really is beautiful."
"A beauty that only grows on you—never gets old."
The teacher frowned, unsure what to do. There were only three dorms. Build her a villa just for herself? Even if allowed, there was no time.
Hannah leaned in, whispering, "There's no way to make a new dorm now. Let her choose whichever she wants."
It was a sensible suggestion. The teacher clapped his hands. "Morgan, as Platinum rank, you may freely choose a dorm."
Morgan nodded. It was the best option. She didn't care where she stayed. The ornate Gold dorm wasn't to her taste—the simple Silver suited her better, and Jade was there, so she wouldn't be lonely.
"I'll stay in Silver."
Hannah smirked—just as expected. She had suggested it because she was the dorm leader of the Silver girls' dorm, making it easier to watch Morgan.
With dorms assigned, the students entered the main hall to meet the headmaster. To Morgan's disappointment, he wasn't bald—but he was kind.
The first day was free time, with classes beginning tomorrow.
Morgan hoped to relax—but what awaited her was an endless stream of "confession duels."
"Morgan, if I win, go out with me!"
"Oh, Morgan, this duel will be our destiny!"
"Damn, lost again! This must be her trial for me—I'll be back!"
"No, don't come back!"
After dispatching the last challenger, Morgan sighed. Most duels ended in a few turns, but there were far too many of them—even repeat losers from Middle Division showed up.
As she was heading back to the dorm, a plain but refined boy stepped before her.
"Morgan, I've been waiting. Didn't expect you to be this popular."
Morgan blinked, puzzled. Isla, however, immediately recognized him.
"You're Hakun from Nexus Second High?"
Hakun smiled politely. "I'm honored you remember my name."
Isla wasn't impressed. She leaned close to Morgan, whispering, "He was at your duel with Charles. His duel sense is sharp—he's no ordinary student."
Morgan raised an eyebrow, scrutinizing him. Isla rarely praised anyone.
"What do you want? We don't know each other."
Hakun smiled faintly, a glimmer of madness in his eyes. "My purpose is simple. I'll make you mine. Duel me, Morgan! If you lose, everything you are will belong to me."
"…"
Same as the others—just more chuunibyou.
Still, Morgan never refused a challenge. If not Shadow Duelists, then she'd cut down fools like this instead. More duels meant more Duel Points for strengthening her team's Decks.
"Fine. I accept."
Morgan smiled, taking Jade's Deck and slotting it into her Duel Disk.
"Watch closely, Jade. This one's a Floowandereeze lesson."
