Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Bai Ning's Victory

Bai Ning, that scheming wretch, she absolutely has to pay for this!

After the meal, Grandpa Qin took his afternoon nap, Qin Feng went to the company, and Bai Ning went shopping. She had an evening appointment with Song Yaxuan.

When she had gone to the animal hospital to pick up Dolly earlier, her clothes had gotten dirty and wrinkled, making them unsuitable to wear anymore.

Bai Ning arrived at the most upscale RD luxury boutique in City A. If she remembered correctly, RD had just signed a contract with Leo's studio, so this season's Elsa collection would be sold here.

As soon as she walked in, Bai Ning saw the Elsa dress she had designed, hanging in the most prominent spot in the display window.

Bai Ning suddenly felt an urge to try it on. What would it be like to wear the dress she had designed herself?

Bai Ning:

"Excuse me, could you please get this dress for me to try on?"

She said to the sales associate nearby.

The sales associate looked Bai Ning up and down. Seeing her wrinkled, stained clothes, a look of disdain flashed across her face. The customers at RD were all high-profile ladies and wealthy young misses, and Bai Ning, having just arrived in City A and being quite low-key, was unfamiliar to her. The sales associate concluded that she must be some poor person who had wandered in.

Clearing her throat, the sales associate spoke,

Sales Associate:

"I'm sorry, but this dress is designed by Leo. It's the pride of our store, and it's very expensive. You can't just try it on without buying it."

Bai Ning frowned. So she was being looked down upon. Did they think she couldn't afford it? She could buy not just this dress, but the entire store, and it would be a mere drop in the bucket for her. This sales associate really was judging a book by its cover.

Bai Ning:

"Can't try it if I don't buy it, huh?"

Bai Ning took out a black card from her bag and slapped it on the table, exuding an air of dominance.

"I'll take it!"

The sales associate, who had seen her fair share of high-profile clients, recognized the card immediately. It was a limited-edition VIP card that allowed unlimited spending, and it was said to be possessed only by extremely prestigious individuals.

With a skeptical look, the sales associate examined Bai Ning again. Although her clothes were wrinkled and dirty, they were finely made and appeared to be of high quality. Moreover, Bai Ning had a beautiful, pure, and charming face—she was a real beauty.

Could it be that this woman was a low-key wealthy young lady, or perhaps a kept mistress of some rich businessman?

Either way, she was someone the sales associate couldn't afford to offend.

Her heart pounding, the sales associate carefully took the dress out of the display window and handed it to Bai Ning.

Sales Associate:

"Miss, the fitting room is over there."

Bai Ning let out a faint, cold snort from her nose, took the dress, and headed towards the fitting room. It had to be said that the dress from her own studio was excellent. The design, craftsmanship, and fabric were all top-notch.

It was clear that Yuna had put in a lot of effort. The dress fit Bai Ning perfectly, as if it had been tailored just for her. Satisfied, Bai Ning walked out of the fitting room.

As soon as she stepped out, Bai Ning heard a familiar female voice, laced with arrogance,

Zhang Wan'er:

"Get me the Elsa dress from Leo's studio."

It was Zhang Wan'er. Next to her was a young woman, Bai岚 (Bai Lan), her lackey. It was Bai Lan and Zhang Wan'er who had tried to frame Bai Ning for theft at the banquet last time.

Zhang Wan'er was a regular customer and a VIP at RD, so the sales associate immediately greeted her warmly.

Sales Associate:

"Miss Zhang, this way, please!"

Zhang Wan'er repeated,

"Dress. Get me the Elsa dress from Leo's studio."

The sales associate looked embarrassed.

Sales Associate:

"I'm sorry, Miss Zhang, but that dress has just been bought by someone."

Zhang Wan'er:

"Someone bought it?"

Zhang Wan'er was taken aback.

Zhang Wan'er:

"Who was it?"

Earlier at the Qin family residence, she had been ridiculed by Bai Ning, a country bumpkin, for wearing a counterfeit dress, losing face in front of Grandpa Qin and Qin Feng. So Zhang Wan'er had rushed to the RD boutique first thing, determined to get her hands on that Elsa dress! But now, someone else had already bought it?

Zhang Wan'er wanted to see who would dare to snatch the dress from her, the young miss of the Zhang family. The sales associate looked towards the fitting room and saw Bai Ning walking out in the dress, so she pointed at Bai Ning,

"It was that young lady."

Following the sales associate's gesture, Zhang Wan'er saw a girl who looked like an angel descended from heaven, wearing that pure white Elsa dress. The off-shoulder design revealed her alluring collarbones, and the mermaid tail of the dress perfectly hugged her tall figure, showcasing her graceful curves to the fullest. She looked noble, elegant, and graceful, yet with a touch of playful charm—so beautiful that one couldn't look away.

Wasn't this Bai Ning?!

How could she look so stunning!!!!

Zhang Wan'er's eyes flashed with jealousy as she pointed at Bai Ning and said to the sales associate,

"I'll take this dress! Wrap it up for me!"

The sales associate looked a bit troubled.

Sales Associate:

"But... that young lady said she was going to buy it."

Zhang Wan'er:

"Has she paid for it yet?"

The sales associate hesitated for a moment.

Sales Associate:

"Well, not yet."

Bai Lan, Zhang Wan'er's friend, chimed in, pointing at Zhang Wan'er and giving the sales associate a disdainful look,

"Did you hear that? This is Miss Zhang from the Zhang family. If you offend her, you'll be packing your bags and leaving!"

The sales associate was torn inside for a moment. The Zhang family was a prominent and powerful clan in City A, and Zhang Wan'er was the youngest granddaughter of the Zhang family patriarch, whom they couldn't afford to offend. She didn't know who Bai Ning was, but she felt that offending Bai Ning would be better than offending Miss Zhang.

With this thought, the sales associate walked up to Bai Ning and said nervously,

Sales Associate:

"Miss, the dress you're wearing has been bought by someone else. Please take it off."

Bai Ning's lips curled into a sarcastic smile.

Bai Ning:

"Didn't I just say I was going to buy it?"

Sales Associate:

"But..."

As the sales associate was thinking about how to get Bai Ning to take off the dress, Bai Lan stomped over in her high heels and haughtily said to Bai Ning,

"Miss Zhang has her eye on this dress. You, a country bumpkin, should take it off right away!"

Bai Ning:

"Is that so?"

Bai Ning calmly looked at her and said indifferently,

"I saw this dress first, and I said I was going to buy it. Miss Zhang, you don't know the concept of first come, first served, do you?"

Bai Lan:

"Do you, a country bumpkin, even have the money to buy it?"

Bai Lan glared at Bai Ning fiercely.

Bai Lan:

"Do you know how much this dress costs? With your means, can you afford it?"

Bai Ning:

"Whether I can afford it or not is none of your business."

Not wanting to deal with Bai Lan anymore, Bai Ning took out her black card and said to the sales associate,

"Charge it for me."

Zhang Wan'er looked at the card in Bai Ning's hand, and it seemed increasingly familiar. She remembered that Qin Feng had a card just like this. This kind of card was globally limited edition, and even she didn't have one. How could Bai Ning have such an exclusive card? It must have been given to her by Qin Feng!

The thought that Qin Feng was so good to Bai Ning made Zhang Wan'er want to tear Bai Ning limb from limb. Her jealousy burned fiercely. She slammed her hand down on the sales associate's hand that was about to take the black card, and said imperiously,

"I'll pay double the price!"

Bai Ning folded her arms, frowned, and looked at Zhang Wan'er.

Was Zhang Wan'er a persistent ghost? Was she never going to leave Bai Ning alone while shopping? Even buying a dress had to run into her. What a small world!

She raised an eyebrow and said,

"Miss Zhang, have you ever heard of first come, first served? I've already said I'm buying this dress. No matter how much you offer, I won't let it go to you."

Zhang Wan'er:

"Do you even deserve to wear this dress?"

Zhang Wan'er stared at Bai Ning fiercely, as if she could bore a hole through her. Such a beautiful dress worn by a country bumpkin was such a waste! If she, Zhang Wan'er, wore it, she would be a thousand times more beautiful than this
