Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Campus Life

The basic Trio-body Jutsu for fourth graders, along with combat training among ninja trainees.

In reality, by the fourth grade, pupils could apply for graduation after mastering the Trio-body Jutsu. However, early graduation usually required full mastery of all aspects of the Trio-body Jutsu and high scores in previous courses.

Due to the Ninja Academy's unique nature—after all, these young ninja-in-training would eventually head to the battlefield—the school outwardly discouraged fighting, but only enforced strict management during the first grade; actually, it didn't stop fights at all.

They simply ensured no incidents involving severe injuries, disabilities, or deaths occurred. If such events were discovered, heavy punishment was certain because these young ninja-in-training were too valuable to be wasted pointlessly within the school grounds.

And even if you personally avoided trouble, how could you possibly have no social circle?

Once having a social circle, wouldn't friendships naturally form?

So when your friends encountered problems, could you really just back down?

If so, wouldn't all that teaching about the Will of Fire be pointless? How would you ever survive in this world afterward? This perfectly illustrated the famous saying, "Once in Jianghu (the martial world), the body is no longer one's own."

For example, today marked the seventh month since school started, and Shiyu Uchiha—who had quietly watched many dramas unfold—was wondering where he'd spectate next when unexpectedly, this drama ended up involving himself.

Shiyu Uchiha had to admit—he was still just an ordinary guy, even after being reincarnated. He enjoyed watching other people's stories unfold from the sidelines but certainly wasn't happy when becoming the story himself.

Although school had resumed for quite some time, in class, the only people Shiyu really knew were still his two desk mates; everyone else was just someone he recognized by name—and that was it.

Of course, Sarutobi Shin'nosuke probably had something to do with it too. In Shiyu's eyes, this old guy was like a grain of sand spoiling a pot of porridge—or a fly: not harmful, yet extremely annoying. He might as well have had "My dad's the Hokage" tattooed right on his forehead.

Shiyu suspected this matter was either orchestrated by him or at least heavily influenced by him. Mainly because girls like Shun Mizutani and Taki Tachibana came from relatively modest backgrounds, resulting in classmates neither accepting nor acknowledging them, often leaving them isolated.

Luckily, they supported each other, and eventually came to realize that Shiyu Uchiha was actually quite approachable—not nearly as aloof as they'd first assumed. After spending a few more days together, the three could finally be called friends, at least loosely speaking.

At the same time, Shiyu Uchiha gradually became familiar with Teru Inuzuka, Chiharu Aburame, and Osamu Akimichi too.

Additionally, since the main focus of first-year studies revolved around the Chakra Extraction Technique, and everyone in their class already possessed chakra, theoretical coursework became comparatively heavier, naturally leading to increased homework volume.

That day, three classmates who struggled academically weren't satisfied anymore with merely copying homework—they didn't even want to do assignments and wanted to go play instead. After discussing amongst themselves, they turned their attention toward those two girls with ill intent.

The three boys were physically strong and had the advantage of numbers, so after school they directly cornered Shiyu Uchiha's two female classmates seated at the same desk, forcing them to help with their homework. After failing to resist, the two little girls could only reluctantly agree.

In the following days, Shiyu Uchiha noticed something off about the two girls; they seemed more tired than usual.

He casually asked a couple times, but both avoided answering, fearing retaliation. More importantly, his relationship with the two girls was barely at the friend level—they didn't think Shiyu would actually stand up for them.

Shiyu simply thought they'd been training longer in the evenings, so he didn't push further—just offered a few words of concern. Truth was, having never experienced bullying himself across two lifetimes, he never even considered such a thing happening.

Then one day, due to an overwhelming amount of homework, the two girls had stayed up late finishing it. Naturally, they appeared extremely exhausted the next morning and fell asleep during class. Despite Shiyu's attempts to cover for them, their teacher noticed.

First they were scolded in front of the class, then sent out into the hallway to stand as punishment—where they finally broke down in tears. Because he tried to cover for them, Shiyu also ended up standing there too.

Their sense of injustice was overwhelming. It wasn't until this moment that Shiyu sensed their deeper issue. He realized that if he asked directly, they would most likely not say anything.

As he comforted them gently, he carefully steered the conversation. In their fragile emotional state, they accidentally let slip everything—and only then did Shiyu realize there truly was a problem. He decided to investigate after school and try to help them.

So when classes ended, he declined walking home together with Mikoto Uchiha. Conveniently, Mikoto herself had plans to visit a friend's house, so everything worked out naturally.

Then, he secretly followed the two girls and finally discovered the truth. Right then, those three bullies were threatening them, demanding even more homework be completed. But the two girls really couldn't do it anymore. They begged softly, but the other side completely ignored them. Seeing their refusal, the boys began issuing threats.

Next, the delinquents started making aggressive moves like they were about to hit someone. Eventually, the two girls gave in and were just about to take over the homework when Shiyu, hearing all this, grew furious. He transformed into a justice warrior and leaped right out.

He firmly confronted the group: "You've gone too far! In the Will of Fire passed down by our Hokage, how can you dare to bully the weak—your own classmates, no less, and even worse—girls? I, Shiyu Uchiha, am deeply ashamed to even call you my classmates!

And not only that—you're making others do your assigned homework? You're defiling the Will of Fire itself! I will report your wrongdoing to the teacher and demand justice!"

By framing their actions as a violation of the Will of Fire, Shiyu made his intervention seem justified. Then, by declaring he would tell the teacher, he threw the boys into panic and disorder.

After all, at this age, teachers still held tremendous authority. Granted, these boys had some family connections—but nothing major, otherwise they wouldn't have been tagging along behind Sarutobi Shin'nosuke like followers.

He threatened to tell the teacher, emphasizing his words dramatically, then turned his body slightly, almost provocatively, as if daring them to do something reckless.

Just as expected, when the group saw Shiyu Uchiha's movement, they immediately panicked and rushed to take action—trying to stop Shiyu Uchiha before even considering anything else.

Taking advantage of this, Shiyu Uchiha played up the moment. He let out an angry roar: "So you're gonna try to shut me up to cover your crimes?! I, Shiyu Uchiha, won't be bullied so easily. Take this!" He had intended to shout something like "Bring you to justice!" but found it too embarrassing to actually say it aloud.

Without giving them a chance to explain, Shiyu Uchiha immediately displayed the traditional fighting art of the Uchiha Clan — [answering violence with superior force]. Soon enough, he had knocked all of them flat on the ground. And in true sly fashion, he made sure not to hit their faces.

After taking them all down without sparing a glance at their desperate expressions, he tore up all the notebooks just to make the incident bigger and more serious.

Worth noting was that these notebooks didn't only belong to this small group—they also included others', one belonging to a key follower of Sarutobi Shin'nosuke—a fellow Sarutobi by blood. Therefore, Shiyu Uchiha suspected he might've been behind this, though there wasn't enough evidence yet.
