Power Hierarchy of the World
In this world, everything begins with mana. It is the unseen current running through all life — the source of both Magic and Gifts. Some are born able to wield it; others are cursed to live blind to it. But from this shared origin, humanity divided itself into heroes and villains, two sides of the same fractured coin.
To measure their strength, both the Hero Bureau and the Villain Association created parallel systems of classification.
The Hero Bureau – Ranks of Light
World Guardians (Above S-Rank): Godlike beings whose power bends reality itself.Their mere presence can turn battlefields into sanctuaries — rain stops falling, storms part, disease retreats. So rare that only a handful exist in all of history, each treated as a living legend.
S-Rank (Living Legends): National icons and symbols of hope. Can level armies, protect entire countries, and confront A-Rank villain tyrants head-on.Their names are carved into history.
A-Rank (National Protectors): Elite heroes tasked with defending capitals, dismantling villain syndicates, and halting disasters.Frequently broadcast in media and paraded as propaganda.
B-Rank (Regional Enforcers): Command city patrols and squads, defending against villain factions or localized threats.
C-Rank (City Operatives): The working-class heroes seen on the streets daily.
D-Rank (Neighborhood Defenders): Rookies, trainees, or semi-licensed heroes.
E/F-Rank (Trainees & Gifted Citizens): Lowest classification. Few rise beyond this level.
The Villain Association – Ranks of Darkness
Overlords (Above S-Rank): Cataclysmic beings — disasters given flesh. When they move, nations tremble. Their power rivals gods but brings only ruin.Entire regions are abandoned to them; their names whispered like curses.
S-Rank (Cataclysmic Threats): Villains whose names inspire fear across continents.Capable of crushing A-Rank heroes and destabilizing nations.
A-Rank (Tyrants): Control criminal empires or even whole countries.Their rule often lasts decades, impossible to root out.
B-Rank (Warlords): Dominate local territories, black markets, and rising factions.
C-Rank (Raid Leaders): Command gangs, assassination units, smuggling rings.
D-Rank (Street Villains): Petty criminals abusing Gifts or low-level Magic.
E/F-Rank (Fodder): Disposable cannon fodder for the higher ranks.
Special Designation – Phantom Rank: Whispered title for those too dangerous to classify.Erased from history, unnamed in records.
In this world, heroes are not gods — and villains are not just men. Both kneel before those few who ascend beyond S-Rank. Guardians bring divinity. Overlords bring apocalypse. And somewhere in the shadows between them, monsters like Nyxshade are born.
