Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: You Can’t Live Together

Oscar smiled and nodded at the words. The azure, red, and blue jade swords in his hands dissolved into soul energy and merged back into his body.

"Teacher, I'll be staying at the academy for now. I can train with you for a while we'll have plenty of opportunities to spar in swordsmanship," Oscar said with a smile.

Gai Yue retracted his martial spirit and nodded. "Not bad. This is a good chance for me to see how much stronger you've become."

At that moment, Dugu Yan walked over. "Teacher, I came to see you."

Seeing her, Gai Yue's smile widened. "How has your grandfather been lately?"

"He's doing very well. Not only has the poison been cured, but his soul power has also increased," Dugu Yan replied with a smile.

Upon hearing that, Gai Yue congratulated her. "Congratulations! He's been stuck at level 91 for so long. With this breakthrough, his strength must have risen significantly."

Dugu Yan smiled again. "Teacher, let's not talk about Grandpa anymore. How have you been?"

"Not bad. Seeing you two here has lifted my spirits. I might break through to level 88 soon," Gai Yue said with a smile.

Delighted, Dugu Yan tugged on Oscar's elbow and said, "That's great news, Teacher! When you reach level 90, I'll have Grandpa help you find a 100,000 year soul ring!"

Gai Yue chuckled, though he knew she was just trying to cheer him up.

After all, a 100,000 year soul beast wasn't something easily dealt with it had the strength of a Titled Douluo. Even with him and Dugu Bo together, they might not be able to successfully hunt one.

But what old man doesn't enjoy hearing such bold words? Gai Yue smiled and said, "Let's let our Yan Yan keep saying nice things, then."

"Hehe..."

After chatting and sipping juice with Gai Yue, Oscar leisurely took Dugu Yan to the dean's office to see Flender. When they arrived, Oscar knocked on the door, and Flender's voice rang out from inside:

"Come in!"

Oscar took Dugu Yan's hand, turned the handle, and pushed the door open. Inside, they saw Flender lounging on a recliner by the window, humming a tune, reading a newspaper, and looking quite relaxed.

"Dean! You look so cool and handsome!" Oscar couldn't help but tease.

Flender recognized the voice immediately. He lowered the newspaper and, upon seeing Oscar, sat up from the recliner in an instant.

"I was wondering why that voice sounded familiar Little Oscar! You're finally back! I thought you'd forgotten about Shrek Academy. So? Has the matter with Poison Douluo been resolved?"

Oscar replied, "It's been settled. And of course, the first thing I did when I got back was come to see you."

Flender nodded in satisfaction. Then he looked at Dugu Yan, who was still holding Oscar's hand. "This must be Poison Douluo's granddaughter, Dugu Yan, right?"

Dugu Yan gave a small smile. "Hello, Dean. I'm Dugu Yan."

"Oh, no need to be so formal," Flender laughed. "Since you've come to Shrek Academy, this is your home now. Don't feel constrained. Brother Gai Yue already sent word before your enrollment. Teacher Lu Qibin has everything arranged you don't have to worry."

Dugu Yan smiled and glanced at Oscar. "Thank you, Dean."

Flender looked at the two holding hands and smiled. "Since Dugu Yan just arrived, Xiao Ao, you should show her around and get her settled into the dormitory."

Then his expression turned serious. "I know about your relationship. Even though you're a couple, you'll still have to live separately while at the academy. We have other students here, and cohabitation wouldn't reflect well. Do you have any objections?"

Hearing this, Dugu Yan blushed and looked at Oscar. Truthfully, she wanted to live with him. After all, they'd already secretly shared a bed before, though they had restrained themselves.

Now that Dugu Bo wasn't around, she naturally wanted to be a little more unrestrained.

But with Flender saying this, she wanted to see how Oscar would respond. And Oscar, even with Dugu Bo gone, still had to answer to Gai Yue.

Besides, he was only twelve. He really should be focusing on cultivation rather than getting distracted by romance.

Of course, if the timing and mood were right, Oscar wouldn't exactly refuse either.

But now that Flender had laid it out clearly, Oscar had no reason to argue. He nodded. "Understood, Dean. I'll go clean up a dormitory for my sister."

Flender nodded in approval. "Good. I have nothing else for you now. Go take a walk around the academy."

Oscar replied, "Then we'll head out."

As they left the office, Dugu Yan immediately grabbed Oscar's hand. "Hey! What's the matter? Are you afraid of living with me? I'm the girl here, and I didn't complain!"

Seeing her sulking expression, Oscar grinned and pinched her cheek. "My dear sister, what are you thinking? Grandpa may be gone, but the teachers are still here. You want me to get beaten up by them and Grandpa?"

Dugu Yan chuckled. "Hmph! You're such a scaredy cat I'm not afraid."

Oscar frowned. "Of course you're not afraid. Everyone protects you like a treasure. If we ever get in trouble, no matter who's at fault, I'll be the one getting smacked."

Dugu Yan laughed even harder. Oscar rolled his eyes and led her out of the wooden house toward the academy's central square.

Since Flender said her admission was already completed, they didn't need to see Teacher Lu Qibin.

At that moment, in the central square's combat arena, Ma Hongjun and Dai Mubai were teaming up against Zhao Wuji. A Soul Sage offering hands on combat training was something even the continent's top three academies Tiandou, Xingluo, and Wuhun Hall couldn't always provide.

That was the uniqueness of Shrek Academy.

It was perhaps the only academy on the continent with more teachers than students.

And only here could a Soul Sage personally mentor students.

As Oscar and Dugu Yan entered the square, they immediately caught Zhao Wuji's eye mid battle. Ma Hongjun and Dai Mubai, fully focused on the fight, didn't notice.

Seeing the pair, Zhao Wuji slapped both students aside and shouted, "Oscar! You're finally back! Old Zhao missed you!"

Oscar grinned. "Teacher Zhao, I missed you too. Without your gravity training, I feel uncomfortable all day."

Zhao Wuji burst into booming laughter. "Hahaha! That's the spirit, Oscar! Hongjun and Mubai aren't nearly as tough. Training them all day isn't nearly as fun as beating you!"

Hearing that, Ma Hongjun who was just happy to see Oscar instantly looked miserable.

"Fun? I'm dying here!"
