Chapter 79 - Chapter 79 – Shao Xin’s Evaluation, Dai Mubai’s Identity

When Oscar returned to the academy today, he was immediately pulled into two consecutive soul fights. This kind of "special welcome" probably only existed in their Shrek Academy.

However, thanks to his super recovery sausages, Oscar quickly restored his soul power and felt no real discomfort.

Zhao Wuji acknowledged Oscar's progress after being away for a year, and also gained some understanding of Dugu Yan's strength.

But he still wasn't entirely sure about the effects of her soul skills, so he asked, "Dugu Yan, your first and second soul skills seem to be more on the side of support and control, right? After you used those two skills, Oscar's overall state clearly improved a lot. And even though I didn't inhale your poison mist, I could still sense that your first two skills' mists are not simple."

Hearing this, Dugu Yan was a bit surprised. Zhao Wuji really hadn't known the effects of her soul skills before, yet after just one battle, he had already guessed most of them worthy indeed of being a level78 Soul Sage.

Dugu Yan nodded slightly and replied, "Yes, Teacher Zhao. My first soul skill is called Jade Scale Red Poison. It increases allies' attack and speed by 30%, and for enemies, it makes them irritable, prone to anger, and slows their thinking.

My second soul skill is Jade Scale Blue Poison. It increases allies' defense by 50% and removes their sense of pain. For enemies, it paralyzes their nerves, slowing their movements."

Hearing this, Zhao Wuji was slightly surprised. Although he knew she was Poison Douluo Dugu Bo's granddaughter and thus had top tier soul ring choices, even without extreme poison, these two skills were absolutely topnotch in support and control.

They could boost attack, speed, and defense for allies while heavily restricting enemies a natural born control type soul master, and one who also had support type traits. Zhao Wuji was now entirely welcoming toward her joining Shrek Academy.

With such a powerful control support hybrid, Shrek's team was becoming more complete.

Zhao Wuji praised, "Dugu Yan, these two skills of yours are very strong. They both support and restrict, and combined with your poison field control, your future role in this team will be irreplaceable."

Dugu Yan smiled sincerely. "Thank you for the praise, Teacher Zhao. I will do my best to cooperate with my classmates."

Zhao Wuji laughed heartily. "Good, good! You've all worked hard today. Since you just arrived, after dinner have Oscar take you around the academy so you can get familiar with Shrek."

Oscar and Dugu Yan had arrived in the afternoon, around two or three. Now nearly an hour had passed, and after a fight, they were indeed hungry.

Zhao Wuji led Oscar and the others to the cafeteria. Dai Mubai had already been taken by Teacher Li Yusong to find Shao Xin, so there was no need to worry about him.

Oscar had held back during their fightat most Dai Mubai would be bedridden for a few days, without lasting injuries.

Still, this was partly because Dai Mubai was simply too weak. Though strong among peers of the same rank, compared to Oscarwho had trained his physique from age six, absorbed higher level soul rings, and consumed whale glue and two immortal herbs Dai Mubai, a level29 Great Soul Master, was far behind.

When they arrived, Shao Xin had just finished treating Dai Mubai and returned to the cafeteria. Seeing Zhao Wuji bring in the trio, he smiled warmly and began preparing food.

Oscar hadn't seen Shao Xin for a long time. Bringing Dugu Yan into the kitchen, he helped while introducing her.

Back when Oscar was training his supreme sausage martial soul, Shao Xin nearly a Soul Sage level food type soul master had taught him without holding anything back, giving many sincere and valuable suggestions.

Thanks to Shao Xin's guidance, Oscar had avoided many detours in his cultivation. Though not his formal teacher, Shao Xin was no less important than one.

Shao Xin had recently broken through to Soul Sage, reaching the peak of level 74, just a step away from level 75. With his talent, he might one day reach the very pinnacle of food type soul masters perhaps second only to Oscar.

Shao Xin's round, cheerful face beamed. "Oscar, I just heard from Teacher Li that among strong attack type soul masters of your level, your strength is top tier. Seems you've gained a lot this past year with Poison Douluo."

He smiled even more. "Perhaps in the future you'll make history becoming a food type soul master with great combat power, a true all rounder in support and offense."

Oscar smiled slightly. "You flatter me, Teacher Shao. But I'll take your blessing I also hope to make a name in the soul master world and not bring shame to food type soul masters!"

Shao Xin nodded with satisfaction. "Good! From the day you entered Shrek, I knew you were no ordinary child. You were only six, had just awakened your martial soul, yet got up at six every morning to train. To persist like that for yearsOscar, your future will be limitless!"

Oscar replied sincerely, "Thank you for recognizing me, Teacher Shao. This is thanks to you and the other teachers' guidance, and I will never forget this kindness."

Shao Xin laughed heartily. "Good! In over ten years here, you're the most talented and determined student I've seen. You'll always be our pride."

Hearing this, Dugu Yan couldn't help holding Oscar's hand tighter. She had heard his stories before, but now, hearing Shao Xin confirm them, she truly felt the weight of his hardships and understood why Oscar was so strict with her back at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

Shao Xin also looked at Dugu Yan. "You too, Dugu Yan Teacher Gai Yue has told us much about you. You and Oscar meeting is fate. In the future, you must work hard together."

"I understand, Teacher Shao." Dugu Yan smiled. "And I admire you as well. Oscar told me you shared all your life's experience with him without reservation. Meeting such a good teacher is our good fortune."

Shao Xin laughed even more. "Alright, alright, no more praise you're making me embarrassed."

Chatting as they cooked, they soon brought out five dishes and two soups. Everyone ate heartily, even finishing the soup.

Ma Hongjun and others couldn't help praising Oscar's improved cooking, saying he was almost catching up to Shao Xin.

After the meal, Oscar and Ma Hongjun took Dugu Yan around the academy to get familiar with it.

While walking, Ma Hongjun asked a question he'd been wondering about. "Boss, why do you call sister in law" "sister" ? I've seen others call their girlfriends 'darling' or 'baby'."

Oscar was more interested in where Ma Hongjun and Dai Mubai had gone together. He guessed it was probably some pleasure venue, but since Ma Hongjun was bringing it up, perhaps he hadn't actually gone wild.

Oscar and Dugu Yan exchanged amused glances before Oscar explained, "Our situation is special. We met by chance and ended up together because of certain reasons. She's a few years older than me, so I called her 'older sister' from the start. Over time, we got closer, and the name just stuck even after we confirmed our relationship."

Dugu Yan recalled the "living together" part and gave Oscar a playful pinch and a beautiful eye roll.

Ma Hongjun seemed to understand and nodded. Oscar then asked, "So, brat, where exactly did you and Dai Mubai go?"

Ma Hongjun admitted, "Months ago, Dai Mubai felt stressed from cultivation and wanted some fun. I thought of taking him to Soto City, but I didn't know his real intentions. He wanted to go to… that kind of place. I followed him in but quickly left after realizing. He mocked me for being timid, but I remembered your advice never vent evil fire that way so I refused. We even fought over it, but I beat him and told him what you'd taught me. His mindset changed, his cultivation sped up, and now he's level 29."

Oscar patted him with approval. "Good boy, you haven't let me down."

Ma Hongjun grinned. "Of course, Boss. I wouldn't be here without you."

Dugu Yan admired this. Though young, Ma Hongjun had firm values thanks to Oscar's guidance. She praised him, "Not bad, little Hongjun. You deserve your boss's praise."

They bantered a bit before Ma Hongjun added, "By the way, Dai Mubai's a prince of the Star Luo Empire. The White Tiger martial soul is the royal family's inheritance."

Oscar nodded. "I figured. Such talent and resources can only come from royalty. He probably came here to escape their harsh training system."

Ma Hongjun agreed. "Still, having a prince as a classmate is kinda new."

Oscar rolled his eyes. "What's new? He's still a person. You know him best, so introduce him to me properly later."

Ma Hongjun agreed, then hesitated before adding, "If he could take the whale glue, maybe he could catch up to usbut I didn't tell him about it since I don't know the teachers' stance."
