Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Birthday Date

The next morning, Jacob stirred awake, a sleepy smile on his face as he turned to look beside him.

Lydia was curled up against him, her breathing slow and peaceful. Her hair was a beautiful mess, and one arm rested across his chest.

Jacob grinned and said softly. "Wake up, sleepyhead. We need to go to school."

Lydia rolled away and pulled the covers over her head. "I don't feel like going to school today." She mumbled.

Jacob chuckled. "Then you can stay here. But I have to go."

Lydia peeked out from under the sheets, hugged him, and said. "No, you don't. Stay with me, please."

"Tempting." Jacob replied. "But today is Allison's birthday, and I promised to take her on a date."

Lydia snorted. "Then don't let me stop you. And let me sleep—I'm skipping school this morning."

Jacob smiled, leaned in, and kissed her, which surprised her, but she kissed him back. Then he got up, spanked her playfully, and said. "Alright, the mansion key is on the nightstand. If you leave, lock up behind you. See you later."

After taking a shower, Jacob had breakfast and signed in to the system, getting some cash and normal daily necessities. Then he ran to school and arrived there without even breaking a sweat.

He met up with Stiles and Scott outside the building.

Scott handed Jacob his car keys. "Here, your car keys."

"Thanks." Jacob said, pocketing the keys.

Stiles looked around. "Where's Lydia?"

"Still sleeping." Jacob replied. "Said she didn't feel like coming today."

Stiles raised a brow. "Did you tell her everything?"

"Not yet." Jacob changed the subject. "Did you find a connection between the bus driver and the video store owner?"

Stiles sighed. "No, not yet, but I'm working on it."

Scott looked tense. "By the way… Derek told me the Alpha wants me to kill someone before the next full moon—or he'll kill me."

Stiles' eyes widened. "What?! Why?"

"Apparently it's some kind of rite of passage." Scott said. "To join his pack."

Stiles muttered. "Who comes up with these rules?"

"That's what I said." Scott agreed.

"Don't worry too much." Jacob said. "Derek is probably just scaring you to get you on his side."

"You sure?" Scott asked.

Jacob shrugged. "At least I'm pretty sure that alpha doesn't want to kill you. As for making you kill someone, I'm not so sure about that. But like I said, you can fight his control over you with your will, so good luck."

Stiles added. "Well, at least he's not gonna kill you. That's good news… I guess."

Scott sighed. "I'm worried about the killing people part, and more importantly I'm worried about the parent-teacher conference. I'm failing chemistry and my mom is going to be pissed, she'll probably kill me before the alpha does."

Stiles groaned. "Although I'm not failing any classes, I caused a lot of trouble at school, so I'm worried about the parent-teacher conference too. How about you, Jacob?"

"I'm not failing any classes either." Jacob said. "But the principal told me I have to talk to Harris, our chemistry teacher. No idea why. And I hate that guy."

"I hate him too." Stiles said. "He's only good to Jackson for some reason and hates all the other students, especially me."

Jacob muttered. "I just hope he doesn't piss me off. I'm afraid I might lose control and end up killing the bastard."

Stiles laughed. "Don't kill him—just scare him enough to quit teaching."

Jacob smirked. "That's actually a good idea."

Scott rolled his eyes. "Don't listen to Stiles, Jacob. He's full of nonsense. Let's just go to class—we're going to be late."

Then the three of them headed inside together.

After morning classes ended, Jacob met up with Allison. As they greeted each other, he noticed a necklace around her neck. His expression shifted slightly as he thought. 'Kate is already trying to tell Allison about the supernatural. She'll manipulate her and fill her head with lies. Good thing I promised to tell her everything tomorrow, and hopefully she won't be manipulated by Kate after I tell her.'

Out loud, he asked. "What's with the necklace?"

Allison touched it and held up the pendant. "Kate gave it to me. She said it's a family heirloom."

Jacob nodded slowly. "I see… Well, are you ready for our date?"

Allison hesitated. "If my dad finds out I skipped the afternoon classes, he'll be pissed. But yeah—I'm ready. Let's go."

"You sure? We could wait and go out tonight."

She shook her head. "Nope. I'm not allowed out at night anymore—not after what happened that night when that bear attacked us. And don't forget, there's the parent-teacher conference tonight. So, this is our only chance. Let's go before I change my mind."

Jacob smiled. "Alright, let's go."

The two left school and spent the afternoon enjoying each other's company. Jacob took Allison to a nice restaurant for lunch, then to the movies, and afterward they did a little shopping—where he surprised her with a pretty bracelet that lit up her face with joy.

Later, they walked together through a quiet park.

Allison glanced at him and asked. "So… what did you and Lydia do yesterday?"

Jacob raised a brow. "We were going to rent a movie, but when we got to the video store… we ran into that man-bear again. He killed the store owner."

"What?!" Allison gasped. "Are you okay—I mean, obviously you are—but what about Lydia? She didn't get hurt or anything, did she? I didn't see her at school today."

"She's fine." Jacob reassured her. "She said she didn't feel like coming to school in the morning. I left her asleep at my place."

Allison stopped walking. "Wait… you let her sleep over?"

Jacob smirked. "Yep."

"Did you sleep with her?"

"Yes."

Her eyes widened. "You promised you wouldn't!"

Jacob laughed. "Relax, she was frightened by that beast yesterday so she slept next to me. We didn't do anything else."

"You sure? I know Lydia. She wouldn't miss a chance like that."

Jacob sighed. "Well, she tried, but since I promised you, I didn't have sex with her. But it was really hard, she really tested my limits."

Allison narrowed her eyes. "And I bet you enjoyed every second of that test, you pervert."

Jacob put on a pained face. "Believe me, there was no joy in that at all."

She folded her arms. "Liar."

"Okay, okay, fine—it was fun at first but it soon turned into torture, because she was all over me but because I promised you, I couldn't do anything about it."

Allison rolled her eyes. "Yeah right, poor you. It must have been a very hard time for you."

Jacob groaned dramatically. "It was! You have no idea how painful blue balls are, Allison."

Allison blinked. "Blue balls? What's that?"

Jacob with a pained expression said. "When a guy gets turned on for too long without, you know… finishing, his balls will hurt very badly."

"Seriously?" she asked, raising a brow.

Jacob looked at her seriously. "Blue balls could kill a man, Allison. My balls are still swollen. Do you wanna see them?"

Allison gasped and slapped his arm. "No, you idiot! I don't want to see them."

Then, she grinned wickedly and before Jacob could react, she smacked him right between the legs and bolted away.

"Damn it, that really hurt!" Jacob howled in pain. "You're evil, Allison! Pure evil!"

Laughing, Allison called back. "That's for having fun with Lydia!"

Jacob recovered quickly and shouted after her. "Come back here! You're going to pay for that!"

He didn't use his supernatural speed—just chased her normally, letting the moment stay light. They laughed and played around for a while, running through the park like two carefree kids until Jacob finally caught up and gave her a playful smack on the rear.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Allison giggled. "I won't do it again!"

"I'll only forgive you if you kiss me." Jacob said, grinning.

Still laughing, she leaned in and said. "Okay."

They shared a kiss—sweet and passionate—which soon turned into a full-on makeout session. They didn't stop until they were breathless, cheeks flushed.

Afterward, they simply stood there in each other's arms, watching the sun begin to dip beyond the horizon. The sky was painted with golden streaks and soft purples.

Allison rested her head on Jacob's chest and sighed, thinking. 'I'm really falling too deep for this idiot… I don't even know when it happened. We've only known each other for a couple of weeks. But he wants to date Lydia… and probably other girls too. I don't know how to feel about that. I just hope whatever he wants to tell me tomorrow will be enough to convince me to stay with him.'

Jacob looked down at her, noticing the thoughtful look in her eyes. "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing." She said quickly. "We should head back to school. My parents will be there for the parent-teacher conference, and they're probably going to find out I skipped class. They'll be furious."

"Just remind them it's your birthday." Jacob said with a grin. "They'll forgive you... probably."

"I hope so." She replied.

After that, the two of them walked back to the car and drove back to school, the laughter and warmth of the afternoon still lingering between them.
