"After twenty years of marriage, I deserve some entertainment," my mother teased. "Besides, watching our son hold his own against a Transcendent is rather impressive."

We concluded the spar with mutual respect, both breathing heavily but satisfied with the demonstration.

"You've improved as well," my father acknowledged. "That enhancement of yours is becoming more refined."

"And your footwork integration is seamless, the technique suits your fighting style perfectly." I nodded. 

My mother approached and kissed my father's cheek. "Now that I've had my entertainment, I suppose I should support my husband properly. Come back safely, Marcus. We'll be waiting."

After my father's departure, I decided to remain at the estate for the day. The academy had granted students an off-day following the recent examination, and I wanted to spend time with my mother while also assessing Kael's progress first-hand.
