Whew. (*￣▽￣)b
It's been a wild ride finishing my second ever full-length light novel. I genuinely poured everything I had into this one — sleepless nights, caffeine overload, and a very questionable relationship with cup noodles. Originally, I planned for this to be a more "standard isekai," you know — overpowered MC, cheat skill, maybe a truck or two. (￣︶￣;)
But... well, here we are.
THE NEITHER MIST CHRONICLES evolved into something much more personal and strange than I originally intended. I rewrote it two, maybe three times (I lost count somewhere between reality breakdowns), and compared to the original web version, this edition has gone through serious changes. Some chapters got broken into parts, others expanded with new material, and I cut a fair bit of the political subplots to focus more on what mattered to me — character growth, cosmic horror, existential sarcasm, and emotional survival in a dying world.
That said, I know I still have room to improve. Especially in the romance department. I think I did okay, but hey — we're all learning, right? I'm already planning to push myself further in Volume 2 and try to deliver something even more satisfying on that front.
✧ So what's next?
Volume 2 of The Nether Mist Chronicles is in the early draft stage. I'm toying with a few ideas involving a mysterious Herald, a rising cult, and a Beastkin uprising (because let's expand this messed-up world even more). And yes — I might introduce a catgirl or a wolfgirl. Probably. Possibly. Maybe. You'll just have to read it to find out. (¬‿¬ )
